Just curious but does a complete wipe mean I'm going to lose my files (pictures, videos, music, etc...)? Should I back those up as well?

No. What you are wiping are: app & app user data, personal settings and everything else in the system folder, and both caches (cache & Dalvik). The only time you lose EVERYTHING is when you unlock the phone. Otherwise internal memory is not touched.

But I ALWAYS keep backups on my PC just in case

Sorry some of you have had what seem to be major issues. I've had none at all. Before I post leaks like this here (I'm just a measly messenger) I like to flash and run then restore backups the re-flash and run again to make sure all is well on my end so people run into as few issues as possible.

To clarify, when I mention "complete wipe" or "wipe fully" it includes formatting system. I don't know if some know this. Also I exclusively use CWM touch recovery so that might be a factor as well.

Sorry about not stating that in the OP and if I can help in any way trust me I will. I'll rework the OP as best I can and give plenty of warnings that I can think of when I get to my PC late tonight.

So I successfully flashed 2.1 and applied the Wifi fix, but my apps are not restoring. I really don't want to have to go through TiBu and install every app one by one. Am I missing something?

if you hit the check mark at the top of the backup/restore page it will tabulate all of your different options

scroll down to restore and choose "restore missing apps with data"

don't select any restore options with "system"

this may only be a premium feature, im not sure, but if so, it is worth it

Yea that's what I've been doing, but I get brought to every install page for every app as it. I get prompted to install each app, click Install, then it finishes installing, so I click Done, and it goes onto the next app. Kinda irritating lol

sounds like your google account might not be setup correctly?

I'll flash the 1st custom source dropped rom when its available. I favor aokp so hopefully it will be by them.

As for setting the phone back up with VZ I'm not clear on what your asking. When you install a new rom your phone will be in a factory like state with the additional customizations added by the rom developer. You'll just readd your accounts and redownload your apps and set your phone up like you did when you first bought it. welcome to rooting!

I've never had to re-setup an Android phone. I don't know if the SIM card takes care of that, or if you have to dial a number or something.

Alright so I tried JB for awhile but I've noticed a couple bugs for whatever reason, so for now will flash back to my nandroid with LS 1.4 and fully customizable features =)

4.1 is really smooth no doubt, but for whatever reason my contacts wouldn't sync up and Lightflow wasn't working, and those are two big issues for me. So hopefully they get fixed in the future and then I'll be back =)

If anyone can help me out, then I'll gladly flash back to JB

It will be interesting to see. If google's services think they are gsm hence the sending of the e-mails, then it is at least theoretically possible.

Nope your phone will just re-connect to VZ's network upon 1st boot (well it better or you gots problems )

Absolutely successful 100%. I flashed v1 when it first hit, restored aokp b40. Reflashed v2 then restored aokp b40. Reflashed v2.1 and restored aokp b40 twice. All without one single issue. Using cwm touch 5.8.0.2 and doing full wipes prior to every flash and every restore.

Read before flashing

- Flash at own risk & make sure you know what you're doing please. Ask questions if you're unsure of anything
- Make backups of your ROM, nandroids, and /sdcard just in case.
- Please read everything including links thoroughly to avoid confusion.
- Know that attempting to flash this can lead to potential unwanted behavior.
- Even though many are flashing and restoring successfully, it might not behave similarly on your phone
- This has been my experience, yours experience could differ greatly
- Remember, this is at an alpha pre-alpha stage.
- This is a port made from a nandroid of a GSM model altered to work on the VZ GN
- And most importantly, have fun

^^Everybody needs to start doing this if you're messin with JB. There's getting to be a lot of similar stories at this point. Hard to determine if there's a common thread or not with multiple roms/recoveries/radios/etc.

If you boot into recovery (which you've been able to do obviously) then wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, format system under mounts and storage, then wipe dalvik cache under advanced, then restore your nandroid you still bootloop? What recovery?

I have others backed up on my computer, but not on the phone. And having just plugged it in to the computer, apparently the drivers I once had aren't working, so I have to get it talking to the computer again somehow.

Have you tried the restore process with it plugged in AND without it plugged in. I've seen a few people say conflicting things about this factor.

Yes, and with two different computers and two different cables. Nor can I follow the directions here: http://androidforums.com/verizon-ga...things-root-samsung-galaxy-nexus.html#unbrick because, although I can install the drivers and my computer does, indeed recognize them (I used the Naked Universal driver, because the PDANet wouldn't work without the device turned on), when I reach the command line, it tells me device not found.

You're not derailing, just trying to help. Looks like you started a new thread. Voided was able to fix his issue which sounds similar to yours. Hopefully he can help you. If not I know there are others here who can offer better help than I could as well.
