[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

On to the razrHD right? :p

I don't know what the heck FedEx is doing with our S3. I've got all the dnld's ready to root it for my wife, they had a failed delivery attempt last Friday, they're normally here by this time of the day, and no S3....

Anti did ya check dbm's or just notice he had no 4gLTE icon on the S3 at your desk?

Nah, no Moto phones for me. And didn't have time to do much, will get more time tomorrow, but he definitely couldn't get a 4G signal in the building.

I don't like this, I already have terrible signal on my GNEX, if this S3 is the same I'm going to go bananas.

Well I just did a clean install....kinda. I wiped cache & Dalvik, then format system. I flashed 2.5, and gapps and it booted up. All my APPS and data were still loaded though. Anyway, my deep sleep improved, 11 mins 66% deep sleep and my volume sound louder. :-)

Just wondering why all my apps and data were still there? I'm assuming because I didn't do the factory reset wipe?

Well, I think it speaks more to the building. Only VZW phone to get usable signal is a Rezound, and apparently that isn't super stable.

Correct, you only lose apps, sms, etc... when you do a data wipe/factory reset in CWM.

How how how, just flashing a new zip?

John, Jelly Bean ROMs are currently based on a port from another phone and devs are restricted in what they can do with it. Once Android 4.1 hits AOSP (Android Open Source Project), devs get all the code from Google and they can develop ROMs will all kinds of customization options like AOKP.

So yes, get ready for some serious ROMs to come out! :D

You guys created a monster. I had a female guest over last night, I was more interested in my phone.
:smokingsomb:

2.6 is up! AOSP hybrid! EDIT: CLEAN WIPE! CLEAN WIPE!

2.7 will be full AOSP - get it while the gettin's good! :D

EDIT: I have a question... Jake is saying that the JB bootloader is HIGHLY recommended... but if I have to go back to ICS for ANY reason (and it would have to be catastrophic), how do I revert with a JB bootloader?

I don't want to flash a one-way ticket here with no return possible...

I don't like the sound of this hybrid thing. I'm either going to a) wait for 2.7 which he's calling "pure" AOSP, or, b) which ever customizable ROM comes out first. And then from there its AOKP as soon as it drops! But yeah. No hybrid.

Does anyone here have a link to a CWM/TWRP flashable ICS bootloader? Jake Day seems to think there's one in the Rootz OP but that's the JB bootloader.

I don't know one off hand, but you should be able to pull it from the factory image and flash in fastboot in a worst case scenario.

Well, worst case scenario, I hook up Wug's toolkit ad flash all the way back to locked stock, re-unlock, re-root, and start all over again.

Wouldn't be the first time

true, that would be far, far worse. But it's not like it's hard to fastboot. I did it once with the stock recovery, it's not very difficult. just a simple "fastboot flash bootloader 'bootloader file name'.img" if I remember correctly. I'd have to look at the files again to know for sure.

Edit: boot.img is actually the kernal. I knew i had to look at the files again.

Hawk, my mind doesn't work that way.

I need a step-by-step, play by play, go here, type this, do that sort of thing.

If you can point me to something like that (with images), I would be grateful :)
