[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

I guess I was lucky: I hit the mirrors at about 4:30 this morning and it DL'd immediately!

One thing about torrents, though: by all means, CHECK THE MD5 before you flash it! ;)

EDIT: Hey Copper, did you flash that tether fix? Did it work?

Its a totally different ROM right? I'm too scaret!

Okay folks, 3.2 should be out by lunch time to fix the wifi hotspot bug.

I will very likely make a nandroid backup of where I'm at right now, then go into 3.2 with a full wipe and try this all over again. Maybe face unlock and the other bugs will get fixed that way.

Hey flashaholic-better-experts-than-me:

How the heck do you update Busybox and SuperSU?

All this JB stuff is very exciting. I do apologize if this has been repeated elsewhere, though I've taken a look and haven't found any info on it anyone know if the following mods can be added to this ROM:

Volume rocker audio controls
Long press soft keys actions (set long pressing back to turn off screen)
Power button camera shutter mods

All help is appreciated!

EDIT: One bit of a bizarre thing I've noted - and I haven't read how to fix it yet - is that there are 2 storage areas now: /sdcard and /storage/sdcard0. Any hints on how to make sure my stuff goes to the right place? Can I set it up for one storage?

Yes I noticed this. I have 2 directories now at /sdcard in the form of:

1.) /Download
2.) /download

I actually noticed it after flashing 3.0. I'm not sure if I can consolidate those into one folder or not, guess it wouldn't hurt to try, it'd be easy to add the other folder back.

My one oddity is that when I go into recovery, I get 4 lines of text upon entry:

E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log

But it doesn't seem to be hampering anything, I've still flashed files just fine. Only thing I haven't tried yet is a nand restore. I do get some output when I go to Advanced > Show Log too. So, pretty much I'm not that worried about it at this time. :dontknow:

Schex, I don't understand the volume rocker audio controls bit. I hit volume down, volume goes down. Volume up, volume goes up. Been that way since 4.0.2. What exactly do you want the rockers to do?

The other two I can't help you with. I can vouch for the 1% battery mod and Power Menu mod. That's all I flashed. Well, the Lean Kernel, which seems to be behaving.

i have those lines too after flashing the JB bootloader

no issues, and i was able to restore a nandroid last night just fine

I just opened both apps and they prompted me to upgrade the binaries in both cases. That is, if you have both the market apps for them installed.

Thanks. SuperSU is prompting me to update the binaries, but I'll hold off. 3.2 should be dropping within the hour and I'm going to wipe anyway.

I don't have a Busybox app in the app drawer. That's a Market APP?

Those mods I've seen. The one with volume rocker is that if you hold down the volume up button it will change tracks on your music player with the screen off. I use it all the time Yeah, that should be a stock feature. Anywho, thanks for the response.

Features like that will be added over time. THey are standard on aokp/cm9/etc...but the JB is so new I hope they focus on stability and bug fixing rather than adding features at the moment.

No no no, Schex! I HATE that volume rocker music control thing! Despise it from Android 2.2 days!

I'm always tapping that stupid rocker by accident in my holster. All I want that rocker to do is adjust volume and nothing else. But I'll compromise:

IF there is a day when volume rocker music controls come stock, I just pray it's an option that I can uncheck.

That way we'd both be happy :)

And yes, JBDan, let's wait for 3.2 and do a full wipe. After a backup, of course!

It is an option in the roms it is in. No worries. And I love the feature one of the best yet ;)

Crap. These updates are coming so fast. I don't know what to do. I was going to flash 3.1 but if 3.2 will include the wifi tether I guess I'll wait.

And I have posted about the 2 sdcard locations, sdcard and sdcard0. Why didn't anyone answer me? :( Ok, I'm not really hurt. I figured someone else would chime in with the same problem eventually.

I've been lurking in Rootz since about page 100 and I have yet to read a fix for that. Would love to resolve it... we don't need conflicting storages!

EDIT: 3.2 in torrent! On its way out, folks!

:D

I didn't notice it until Chief brought it up. It finally dawned on me when I spotted the 2 download folders on the sdcard. At first, I couldn't find the zips I wanted to flash because usually they were housed in /Download. Because of the lower case "d" in the new /download folder, it was way down the list on my sdcard contents when in recovery. Took me awhile to find them. Everything I download directly to the phone seems to be going to that location now.

Yes, that's when I first noticed it. But mine was going to storage/sdcard0/Downloads and my TiBu was in /storage/sdcard0/TitaniumBackup instead of the usual /mnt/sdcard/Downloads or TiBu.

Oddly, when I look in Root Explorer, I see the 2 download folders. But when I hook up to the PC, all the files are housed within the /Download folder, no evidence of the second /download folder whatsoever. I tried moving /download into the /Temp folder on the sdcard. Now I'm going to try downloading something and see where it shows up.

I've seen this since v1.6 iirc. Never looked into it as I thought this is just how JB is coded.

Has anyone restored root explorer with TiBu? Some are saying that it fixes FC issue with it. Maybe RE just needs a JB update
