[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Maybe I should wait til 4.1.2?

I keep trying these jelly bean ROMs, and haven't had anything that made me want to jizz my pants like AOKP, so I keep flashing back to build 40....

I really don't know what I did!

Yes I pulled my battery but that was after I shut down. I have two batteries and was swapping out for the freshly charged battery. Then it just wouldn't boot.

I tried restoring a nandroid, which failed at data. Tried a different one, no go!

So I wiped and flashed b40 AOKP. Bootloop!

Had to change recovery to twrp so I could mount USB and pull all files from SD as I hadn't backed up. Then flashed back to stock 4.0.4. So yeah, I am up and running but boy am I missing a lot. All my stuff is on my computer and I am worn from staying up 3 extra hours to save my phone just to set an alarm to sleep for two hours and have a functioning phone!

I feel like flashing jellybelly again since I don't have any files to lose so if I had to flash back I could do so without all the angst.

Just feel like something hasn't yet been discovered about Jelly Bean in terms of the data corruption that is occurring. We never dealt with long boot times and corrupt partitions until now. And this has occurred with folks who flashed the nandroid hack as well as the recent AOSP builds. Something tells me not everything is as official as it seems.

My 2 cents!

Jmar, that's exactly what I went through when I tried to flash off of VanirBean, except I didn't change the recovery so I was able to flash back to stock with Wug's Toolkit.

It seemed that, some way, data was being corrupted even though I had wiped data.

Someone recommended Super Wipe, and I have used it ever since. It doesn't just delete the contents of the partitions, it formats them. And I have had no issues since.

If I had to take a SWAG, I would guess that something in the reflashing a different recovery borked your phone... not JB itself, even though some JB ROMs are somehow affecting data wipes (but not data FORMATS). Can I explain that in detail? No, but I'm just forming a theory based on the experience of myself and others.

My 0.02 :)

A little info for the new guys... and some of us old goats too :p

Wow, this thread AND Rootz have come to a screeching halt!

Do you think that maybe - just maybe - 3.4 is IT? I mean, he just released a gapps 7-13 to flash to tie up loose ends (that I've already tied up, but may flash them just to clean up the code on my phone)... but other than that, it's about as close to Jelly Bean perfection as I can imagine.

All we need now is AOKP to come along with its myriad of customizations and then... stick a fork in me, baby, I'm DONE!

Lol well typed! It is really good Chief, I don't think I'll flash the new gapps as everything is kosher on my end. Best ROM I've flashed on the GN .

So I am back on JellyBelly but I can't install Flash from the market. It is on my PC as a Titanium Backup file (.zip.trz). Anyone down to load it up to dropbox for me?

Edit: A working Verizon login app would be awesome, too!

Loving Jelly Bean again!

What is said is new in the new Gapps? And anyone reporting any bugs? I'm running pretty good but unlike some others, I always think there's room for improvement. So what's the verdict?

You know, I'm kind of in the camp with JBDan here. Everything works just the way I want it. Unless something new develops, no need to flash anything. Taking no chances on fixing something that ain't broke.

One thing that I need to get used to is the voice output when I'm using maps. One thing I have noticed is that it waits till you're almost to the point where you need to turn and then it tells you. Since I done this out in the country and I knew the turn was coming up, but how does this work in a city setting? The older version would start telling me at quarter a mile away that my turn was coming up. Guess I'll check this again tomorrow when I take a trip to another town.

The one thing about code though: things could be broken, and we may not even know it :) if he made a change, there must've been some reason..

Dang, miss a few hours and this thread grows like someone put miracle grow on it :D:D:D

Is anyone else having an issue with Google Voice not working? I am on 3.4 and it will not log into Google Voice.

Negatory. Voice working fine here. Unless, are you talking about setting it up as voicemail? Because that I have not tried and can neither confirm or deny...but calls and messages working fine

Yeah pretty good for me. I'm trying to follow the link above to setup Google Now but I don't have the same location settings menu as the author. Maybe I should flash the latest Gapps?

Anyone else's recents acting screwy occasionally? Click it and try to scroll and it stops as if it can't go any further, then flickers, and then continues all the way?

Nope mine works faster than it ever has before smooth as silk and never stutters

It does wait a little longer than it used to it seems but still notifies me in plenty of time. Although I don't rely on the voice as much as I do the screen itself.
