[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Okay, I.m in.
I installed 3.8 and what a mess it was at first. I had to go back to stock twice, but i finally got it going.

The only complaint that I have is it likes to eat the battery more than ICS.:(
Woah what a pita....what happened?

I just so happen to have one of the phones that locked up on the boot screen. Clean factory install was the only recourse.
Something about going from 4.0.4 to JB locks up the Gnex.

If anyone installs Jelly Bean, I recommend installing the JB bootloader. It will save you a lot of head aches.:)

OH! And Titanium Pro is a must for your apps. I am glad that I did that before the JB install.

OK so I thought I would give XenonHd a try and it was nice. Came back to jelly belly because I simply am not willing to give up my full screen mod. I love not having those nav buttons on the bottom. So a clean flash to 3.8 and all is running smoothly for now.

Guess what? Get your flashing fingers warmed up - 3.9 drops TONIGHT! :D

Per the dev, Jake Day, in Rootz:

"3.9 will be coming tonight even though I'm on vacation lol!

This will be the last of this series. The next series, 4.x, will be a major overhaul. Think of it like this:

1.x: initial preview builds
2.x: proper preview builds
3.x: initial aosp builds (aka fix source)
4.x: proper aosp builds

Thanks for everyone who has supported this ROM so far! I may be the dev, but the ROM is only as good as your feedback so I thank you very much!"

:D :D :D :D

Chief, do you think the MMS will be addressed in this build? Also, can I dirty install it? Thanks!

I am on 3.8 and gapps 7/18 and noticed I no longer have that DSP Manager (if that is the correct name). It used to be located in the app drawer and would also come up when using Google Play Music.

So, what happened to it?

Atrain, I have NO idea what the changelog will have in it, and what will be fixed/not fixed.

Yes, you should be able the dirty flash it with little/no problems. If you end up with problems, do a full wipe and clean flash it.

Dirty Flash:

Recovery
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Wipe System
Install ROM
Install Gapps
Fix Permissions
Reboot & wait

:)

EDIT: Dark Cyber, more people had trouble with DSP Manager than had good experiences so it was removed. You can always flash 3.6 or 3.7 to get it back, unless 3.8 fixed something you needed fixed...

Do I need to keep the other JBs on my phone (3.7, 3.8) and if not what's the best way to delete them, while phone is plugged in and I'm on my PC or through the phone itself? Thanks!

It worked perfect for me. I love that it gave me an equalizer for my music. Really wished they would bring it back. Can it be flashed as a mod or something?

You can always keep the zip files in the phone's internal memory in case 3.9 doesn't work out. Then you can just wipe & flash an older version (or restore the nandroid you made just before you flashed 3.9 ;) ). That's perfectly harmless.

Someone else will have to answer that one. I have no idea.

Chief,
What is a Nandroid? Is it when I did a backup before wiping anything?
Thanks.

You can get it here. I'm realizing with more use just how good it is. He's added some battery tweaks as well as the butter transitions, my battery life has been insane. gl with it and report back what you think ^_^

jbdan,

Thanks for posting this link. I may actually test drive this. This requires a complete wipe I assume?

Also, anyone know a way to add DSP Manager back into 3.8?

So I tried that AOKP jb build tonight and so far it's nice but by no means a daily driver yet.

I used the Xenon HD rom all day and while it is nice and for me, ran somewhat smoother/faster than jelly belly I decided to ditch it and come back to jelly belly.

I thought jelly belly 3.9 was releasing tonight? For now, this is my go to rom until there is a official aokp rom.
