Root [Virgin Mobile] [VMOBI][ROM][KERNEL] Victorious ROM + VaeVictus OC kernel (Updated 7-30-13)

Okay so lets all just drop supersu and install koush's app. I think thats enough evidence for Jerry to replace it in the next version :)

Sounds good to me, I've had to update SuperSU after reboot three times now. I've always like Chanifire's work, but Koush is just as good, and as you said, open source. ;)

Hmm, any trick to uninstalling SuperSu since its a system app? Superuser is now installed, but has not yet been asked to give permission to anything else like Titanium Backup, or ROM Toolbox, or Link2SD since they already have permission from SuperSu. Do I uninstall updates first from Application Manager? Then what? Use Titanium to uninstall SuperSu? I'm a little paranoid about this one since it's so important for root access.

Disable it in application manager or use es file manager to delete it from /system/app
As lomg as es was given root acess before supersu was unimstalled it will always have it whenever no su app ia availiable :) nice little trick

You have to open the new superuser the first time to install it's binary. After this remove the old SuperSu.

After installing the new binary, if SuperSu tries to get root permissions before you remove it, deny it or it will reinstall it's own binary again.

Is the kernel in this rom insecure?
I just realized I haven't been editing default.prop in the ramdisk on at least the last few releases of the VaeVictus kernel, so ro.secure=1 and debuggable=0 and persist.sys.usb.config=mtp. But that should just affect adb, nothing else, right?
This is fixed in the latest release. ;)

Pretty much, lol

Please thank rbheromax for all his hard work on the kernel,
and teachme for finding the lib files for the videoplayer.!

The only thing that kinda sucks about following the thread so closely is that I've manually applied all the upgrades and fixes and don't get the pleasure of flashing the newest version. LOL . Great work loving my phone so much better now got tons of games installed and internal memory is hardly touched.

an app like Kernel Tuner on the playstore will allow you to adjust those values. I think its pre-OC'd as app compatibility with our device is an issue

No frills works pretty good its ungoverned and overclocked to 1.8 GHz so it cant run up to that speed if it see's the need .

Sorry just saw gpu :(

The current version of the kernel (0-1-5) has automatic under/overclocking on the GPU, taking it from 200-400mhz as needed (stock is 300mhz). We are working on exposing control hooks in the kernel to allow you to adjust it yourself. For now, to see if your GPU is indeed setup this way, Kernel Tuner will allow you to see the GPU max/min values under it's settings, device info. ;)

You'll need to flash the latest version for the new kernel, or flash the VaeVictus kernel itself. There are also some untested modifications to features.xml, so you might want to flash Victorious-0.2.2 anyway. ;)
