Root [Virgin Mobile] [VMOBI][ROM][KERNEL] Victorious ROM + VaeVictus OC kernel (Updated 7-30-13)

I haven't used links 2 sd yet because I only had 4 gb sd card but I'm getting a 32 tomorrow and want to start using it. Toolbox idea is fantastic. I may have to make another donation, all of this has made owning this phone a blast!

By the way when I restored my backup the other day (stock rom and kernal) afterwards, I installed just vaevictus, the first one "uncapped" , no victorious, and noticed the video player didnt work. I know its fixed and everything, just didnt know if it was noteworthy that the original cause was in kernal not rom. Only pointed it out because the nearby devices selection still doesnt work even with new .libs. didnt know if that would help track down the original culprit responsible for its demise. Its not a problem whatsoever, just pointing out something I noticed. Like I said, dont even know if its noteworthy.

The kernel has not been changed as far as video playback is concerned, it was just a matter of those missing lib files. I'm still trying to get someone with a brand new phone to confirm the VideoPlayer works out of the box.

I used it right out of the box. Thats why I noticed "nearby devices" wasnt working. When I first got the victory I noticed if both phone and computer were on wifi, if I launched video player app while my computer was turned on, a new selection appeared at the top of the app "nearby devices" and if I clicked this all the movies stored in my computer would show up and I ciuld play them. Useful when lying in bed with wife sleeping and wanting to watch a movie but not turn on the tv. I could play them without having to store them in my phone.

I just got my phone a month ago and the only issues i had with the video player would have been the 0.2.1 release. I just flashed the 0.2.2-r1 update and both video player apps seem to work fine...

I also just performed a clean stock recovery before flashing 0.2.2-r1

i am running 0.2.2-r1 flash from a clean stock backup... i notice my phone gets warm as i am sure everyone else is.... but at what temp should i start being concerned...

i monitor it with kernel tuner... and usually it will set around 46 degrees when playing games but it feels awful warm...

Oh, lol that's gotta be the GPU OC
If anyone experiences any lag, for a quick second, that's from the 27 MHz freq I gave the GPU (I shouldn't have...)

just had a experience, had to flash back to my stock backup...

My son was playing some games... said the phone got laggy and wasnt loading anything...

i took a look at it open kernel tuner to check the running task (not much was running) so i cleared out everything to free it up and let to breath... once i tapped to kill Google + my phone froze for a few second and then tried to open google+ and gave a no responding error... when i tapped ok my phone froze completely and required i pull the battery... after restarting i found the home screen not responsive to swipe in order to unlock... again pulled the battery and restarted with the same response... at the point i restored my back...

i am sure there are a million things that could have caused this but just trying to provide feedback to help the masterminds behind this.

its the gpu. going under 200mhz from the kernel. should be fix next kernel release(:
edit: i had the same problem in rua2, reboot, redid davik/cache. still happens:P

ok strange thing itryed removing the extra camera and delete the wrong one so i took both out. i then took the samsung camera.apk form the victorious zip and placed it in the system/app folder and set permission then reboot wiping both caches. for some reason it dont show up any suggestions?

So I'm pretty new here but just wanted to let you know I rooted my phone and flashed this victorious rom and so far things are ok. I feel like my phone is running smoother and a little bit faster. Although sometimes when I press my camera button I will either get the stock camera or the other one. I noticed when I do take a pic with the stock camera they come out as a black screen shot. Also the wireless tether app always crashes.

For wifi tether you need to use the right configuration in the original post. And you can also freeze the camera app you don't want.
