Root [Virgin Mobile] [VMOBI][ROM][KERNEL] Victorious ROM + VaeVictus OC kernel (Updated 7-30-13)

Just saying gpu is not really over clocked, the adreno 225 is normally capped at 400hz, so it is false that is overclocked I locked the frequency to 400 before vae victus so nothing in terms of clock speed changed, but a question the app that originally bootlooped my phone could change the graphics settings on the gpu like anti aliasing and other cool options to tweak the quality of the default graphics or to make it look better or worse to improve framerate is it possible to so this with the 225? The apps was for ics devices only and when I downloaded the {files} it needed, then rebooted my phone was bricked for the first time, the app has the word 3d in it but I forgot what it is called right now

NEVERMIND! I unlinked my apps that were on app 2 SD and now its working perfect! it booted up within a minute and I'm in love with this new camera app! I think I'm gonna uninstall the original camera app!

Are you guys wiping system in recovery before flashing Victorious? You want to install Victorious overtop of stock so all you want to wipe in recovery is Cache and Dalvik Cache. If you wipe anything else it will not boot and will just hang.

After an.hour your stuck . Pull battery put back boot.twrp.restore.backup.reboot system.then shut down.boot.twrp hit.wipe do.cache.and.dalvik.cache the.flash again hit yes.to fix root if it ask then.reboor.system. if.it.dont.boot in.10 minutes try again

The Victory is sold with the GPU capped at 300mhz, we have overclocked it to 400mhz, quibble all you like, but there is no need to post it three times! Why don't you build your own kernel and overclock it beyone 400? You seem to like bricking your phone by trying things not meant for it anyway, so be the test monkey you claim to be!

Just go to recovery and restore your backup. Hopefully you made one. If not there's a thread for going back to stock.

i backed up everything, and i only did a dalvik and a cache, i dident wipe the system like it said i followed everything to a T, but ima try again, although it killed my battery last night while i was sleeping, hoping it wood work when i woke up

Anyone having troubles with Victorious-0.2.2-r1 or 0.2.1, please try an older version, 0.1.x, I'm wondering if the bootanimation2 binary is causing the issues? If so, I'll remove it in the next release (I don't think it's being used by many, and it can be self-installed easily by those who want it).

How had you linked your apps2sd previously? I did say to remove any 2sd scripts before flashing in the instructions, and a couple of other times in the OP. I'm wondering if this is what is causing others issues as well?

If 0.2.2-r1 doesn't boot within 10 minutes, please restore your backup and try an older version of Victorious, 0.1.x. I made some changes to the updater-script in 0.2.2-r1, and it may be causing some people issues, trying to nail it down.

Please, if you have issues with 0.2.2-r1, and you have used ANY apps that modify your phone, post what those apps are. The majority of those who initially had issues with 0.2.2-r1 had some type of scripts (apps2sd, kernel tweakers, etc) that they did not remove per the instructions. Hopefully there is a common issue we can discover together and fix it asap!

i had apps2sd and the other one, but i uninstalled them but i dont know where to look to delete the scripts, and i followed your instructions to the T, im guna try again, and will an older version have all the good stuff in it like this one does, or can i just wait until this one works with this issue

also when i went to download the o.2.2r1 zip above it shows the same file but the md5 sum, do i need that on my phone as well, i kno that may sound stupid, but it dident say to add that in the directions, just wondering mayb thats why its not working hahah

Version 0.1.4 of Victorious is very stable and speedy. You can also install app2sd to go with it. That's what i have right now. I tried 0.2.1 when it first came out, but when i tried to use No-frills governor, it seemed like my phone was slower. I read on this forum that i need to try different governor according to my needs, but i was satisfied with the previous version so i reflashed it back to 0.1.4-> the fastest version i have so far.

The .md5 file is the md5 checksum of the downloaded zip file. You run md5 on the zip file on your PC, and see if the checksum matches the one in the .md5 file. That's how you can be certain you didn't have a bad download.

I'll be putting out a new release of Victorious tomorrow, and I'm going back to the old updater-script, leaving the user's scripts intact, and removing bootanimation2 for now. Hopefully this will resolve the issues, if not, it should at least narrow the cause down.

Thanks for all the feedback, I apologize for any issues you anyone is having, but appreciate the bug reports so we can get this smoothed out for everyone!

It has taken me a while to tweak everything like I want it, but running the latest version for a week or so now and loving it! Phone seems quite responsive, I'm loving all the storage space (even with 96 apps showing in the app drawer - and using only 556 MB internal!), battery life seems good after some issues earlier. Reinstalled TrevE Tether as advised to RevMendonca in post #630 ( for same reason - crashing) and now that is working too. I may be forgetting a minor problem or two but all seems great now. Many thanks to Jerry and everyone else who helped me with answers over the last two or so weeks. You are all awesome! And I'm sure I will need your help again.

thnks so much, i like doin this stuff and tryin to figure everything out, so i should just go and use a older version say o.2.1, and how do i get rid of the scripts like it says in the instructions, mayb thats my only problem, because i had those move to sd apps but i deleted them, but does it leave a script behind that i need to erase

also i found the 11extsd2internalsd under system/etc, and i dont use that app anymore, is that the script i need to erase, i dont really know anything about this stuff other then rooting, i backed it up just in case, im guna try hard to get thsi to work, it worked for everyone else and we all got the same phones hahahahhaha

So when I restart my phone it hangs on the Samsung logo until I pull out my SD card then it immediately starts up I stick it back in and everything mounts correctly.. But I'm just confused why it does this.

I think it has something to do with link2sd because it did this before I ever flashed victorious.

11extsd2internalsd is my script, it's the only one you should see in /system/etc/init.d after doing a fresh install. My best quess is you had used some apps2sd app, and it installed something that is still affecting your. Before you uninstalled it, did you undo it's settings, and move apps back to internal?

FYI- You should be able to just remove 11extsd2internalsd and your phone will act like it has the stock sdcard setup.

If it was doing it before you flashed Victorious, then it you are probably right.

Try using adb and see if there are any files in /system/etc or /system/etc/int.d with links2sd in the name.

How did you try setting up Links2Sd before installing victorious? Ext4?

I didn't really set anything up, I tried using it and the apps 2sd because I was rooted and I thought it wood work without a rom, but it dident, so I just deleted it, is there anything I can do to make this work, im rooted right im pretty sure I didn't really mess with anything else, as far as settings in apps2sd I didn't change anything, how can I fix this and start over and re flash ur rom
