Root [Virgin Mobile] [VMOBI][ROM][KERNEL] Victorious ROM + VaeVictus OC kernel (Updated 7-30-13)

Ok so i was stock and did a factory reset and stock recovery to get the MC5 update. Reinstalled TWRP Backed-up and installed Link2sd then Victorious by components. Everything seems to be working. Only problem I have is when I plug my phone in via usb to comp i go into windows explorer and click phone (which is now my SD card) it works for a few sec then stops responding and I can't do anything with it?

I have this too. It seems now I have to keep my phone screen on when plugged to PC. I usually set it to 30 mins. Sometimes I have to swipe between screens to keep the data flowin.
P.s.
I usually just put my SD card directly in my computer now, faster data transfers that way.

Actually now that I'm reading about your issue, I noticed my phone doing something similar when I was transferring titanium backups back to my phone after I updated the other night. It was like the transfer stalled out occasionally, but picked right up where it left off as soon as I woke up the phone.

Maybe MTP lost its wakelock somehow?
 
This may be off topic if so you can direct me the right way but I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the shutter sound on the camera? Is there an option I am missing or do I need to download something?
 
Edit build.prop.debug.sf.nobootanimation=0 , change the zero to a 1. No more bootanimation!

Actually the Victorious Rom logo is not that simple. Right off top of my head I can't think of file you need to edit, but it's a bit more involved than editing build-prop orb deleting something

Do you have any idea how long I worked on that logo?!? I mean, it was like, at least, oh, I don't know, 15 minutes!!! ;)

If you don't like it, you can use the AndroidKitchen from my github to replace it (mumble-grumble-ingrats).
 
I've been looking through the thread and seeing conflicting reports about the new release working or not. How stable is it? I'd like to flash it but the issues people are having worries me. I don't really want to flash back to stock just to get it working again. Hell I just saw a post about someone's phone not booting after flashing the newest release.

no disrespect or anything. just even if youflash back to stock its still there, so thats kinda lame
 
From what I've read, problems are from people borking their 2sd links.

If you're worried, flash stock and undo all links first, then latest build.

yeah youre right, that suckers IN there. I dig the logo though, reminds me of how excited I was when victorious was first released and the first time I flashed it.
 
Ok I flashed g60madmans stock rom. Then loaded the stock recovery then factory reset and deleted all my data then did update via the annoying pop up and updated everything from settings but no new boot animation sound and under settings about deVice its says custom what the hell am I doing wrong right now I will see if new victorious will boot past Samsung logo now but I really am pissed off that nothing happening like I planned and I have no response from jerryscipt to help me bleh
 
OK IM REALLY PISSED RIGHT NOW, AS OF RIGHT NOW I HAVE resored g60madmans stock backup, then installed stock recovery,updated and wiped the cache and factory reset, then i procedded to install the firmware update which is the really annoying popup, it installed, but gave no confirmation that the install was a succes, i then installed twrp, made a backup, then tried to install victoroius which is the newest one i mean, it failed, but kinda weird becuase the boot animation is ****** up from how it should be, here it goes: SAMSUNG> VICTOROIUS ROM> VIRGINMOBILE RED ANIMATION WITH OLD NON MG5 UPDATED AUDIO> SAMUNG(FOREVER) now i pulled the battery resored my backup and am really mad that everything is now going not as planned, things to tell jerryscript,1: when backing up old backups before mg5 and even g60madmans stock bacup, i even when not updated am on mg5 baseband when i boot into that backup nomatter how old, 2: the virgin mobile audio still says virgin mobile instead of the new audio, 3: previously(4days ago) have installed g60madmans stock backup, follwed all instuctions for the safe way to update from mc1 to mg5, everything went smoothly, here goes my flaw, instead of backing up when update to mg5 was complete(which that time was succesful and gave me confirmation of update was succesful) i didnt backup and i wish i can go back in time to backup,then i stupidly flashed victorois *the newest update one* and was stuck on samsung screen, so i just from there had problems when i re backed up g60 madmans stock backup and had seen it was mg5 when i first booted up i was like wtf, but i ignored it then tried to update the no props zip update again, of couse it failled, right now i cannot flash victorius, i feel hopeless, i did all this work for nothing, right now in stock with twrp rooted with g60madmans backup, now i dont know about this part, my baseband is mg5, right, but ohh wait i have no new virgin mobile boot up sound, (it still just sayS DADADADADA DA DA SONG) AND VICTOROIUS IS UNLOADABLE, SHOULD I JUST DO THE SEPARATE FILES OF VICTOIUS 3. WHATEVER YOU SLICED APART FOR US TO DEBUG OR WHAT I DONT KNOW HOW TO REVERT TO MC1 AND RIGHT NOW I I TRY TO DO UPDATE NO PROPS ZIP, ILL PROBABLY GET AND ERROR CODE LIKE BEFORE, WHICH PROBABLY HAS TO DO WITH THE BASEBAND already saying mg5, but no apparent changes from the update took place, a bad download i guess and i dont know how to revert to change everything again, again right now im stock rooted with g60madmans backup, with twrp, baseband is mg5(or not exactly from wjhat i can tell) and backed up from there, right now i feel the need to eirther check if older verions of victoius work with me now, or do the disected new victoiroius one by one and see which little bastard wont boot up and restore, then do all the ones that worked, and back that up, of couser i have time FOR ALL OF THAT, MAN WITH WORK AND ALL! also and please try to private message me becuase ive poseted about this issue before( in the different stages of it) and i get confused which post this pertains to and how to find it so thank you guys in advance and if you read it all
 
@mudflap. I tend to use my own pre-victorious backup for everything instead of G60's stock backup. Only reason is it doesnt seem to fix all problems. One time I broke my 3g and 4g and his backup didnt fix it, but mine did. must have been something that restores in the data partition of a backup that was broken. I used jrummy's zipme app to make a flashable zip of my mms msgs, all it did was delete my mms msgs and break my 3g and 4g. Everytime i use my own backup then redo the jerry's no props update it goes fine.
 
Thanks but I have no backup before victoroius I was a supernoob before all of this and wad stupid to know what a backup is and let alone do it all I have is g60madmans backup l nothing else that's more stock than that
 
As I stated in another thread the problem seems to be that by some chance I see my system under settings as mg5 but no new boot animation sounds or anythong from mg5 is present its like im mc1 right now also when I recover g60mafmans backup. Flash stock recovery and do factory reset and wipe cache and become as stockvad I can possibly think off I see under settings my system is quote custom yet im stock. Two discrepancies though g60madmans backup is rooted already so that may be considered custom and I flashed the stock recovery with the mg5 update thing that jerrydcipt postef becuase I didnt see mc1 one to downlOad so those two issues could have stopped me from updating with the annoying system update available popup and succesfulltly and really having mg5 with all the changes it has
