Root [Virgin Mobile] [VMOBI][ROM][KERNEL] Victorious ROM + VaeVictus OC kernel (Updated 7-30-13)

I intend to use vaevictus with the stock rom. What settings and governor do you reccomend?

I keep max CPU clock at 1512 and minimum at 840 I think. And ondemand governor. Sometimes I switch to conservative governor if my battery is getting low and I can't get to a charger.

Stock kernal is capped at 1.2 GHz. You can go to 1.8 if you want with vaevictus. Some ppl report glitches at that high speed. If you have trouble at that speed just back it down a little.

So I flashed the kernel. Now when I start up the boot up shows Victorious Rom etc...all is fine and dandy and thats the only victorious component I have. Yet now my phone won't connect to my windows 7 pc...

I always left it at 384/1.8 with conservative, and when I was out of the house for long periods of time (work) enabled power save mode to cut it down to 1.2. Never had to mess with changing the freqs that way.

Only real difference I ever noticed between 1.2 and 1.8 is smoother scrolling in browser, and my psx emulator was a bit smoother too.

I use Ttorrent often and prefer to save to my external sdcard. After installing victorious will I have to change the destination to sdcard0/torrent (or something similar)?

Thank you. Sorry for all of the simple questions. I tried flashing the individual components of victorious last night from #761 but that didn't work. Went back to my backup immediately after root, updated, and flashed the whole thing. All apps are linked, fixed boot image issue where it's split...and dungeon masters 4 installed and runs perfectly. Amazing.

If you think that's amazing try CM ;). (Courtesy note: Jerry IS amazing)

(No offense to Jerry, for damn near 6 months he improved the user experience of Victory owners, first with his kernel and then Victorious. I'll be using his kernel when he releases one that works with CM's WiFi fix).

But stripped stock really can't compete with CM.

Two, one for the release and debugging (Chairshot's thread) and one for general feedback (mine)

Both should be on the front page.

Ill look into it but i already started getting cozy on jerry's rom. I can't see me needing anymore unless it has some really good stuff this lacks.

There are some cool new customization menus. See my screenshots in the cyanogen impressions thread.

The big difference is that Jerry's is mature, OCed and stable, while CM is still young and buggy, running at stock speed..

If you want something that works, and works well, stick with Victorious. If you want gadgets, doodads and random reboots, go CM.

Having trouble preparing the second partition for Link2SD, specifically:

10. Install and run Links2Sd, and do let it create mount scripts
11. Using a root file manager, delete /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and everyfile inside /system/etc/init.d (you may not have an init.d or any files inside of it)

First - I got Link2SD off Google play and it installed, but didn't ask about mount scripts. I had it mount the ext4 partition.

Next - I can't get these files to delete. I tried both ES File Explorer and Root File Manager. Both have Superuser access, and neither one is deleting the files.

Any suggestions?
