Root [Virgin Mobile] [VMOBI][ROM][KERNEL] Victorious ROM + VaeVictus OC kernel (Updated 7-30-13)

First, asking which partition did mount it when you clicked ext4. Just make sure you reboot for it ti take effect.
Second, i used root browser by jrummy apps. I personally didnt have to delete anything from the folder where he said we may not have anything

Just delete install-recovery.sh where it specifies using root browser, reboot, and open link2sd and youre good to go. If it asks to remound scrips click no. If it just starts up with no prompt you're golden.

OK, Root Browser worked, and I was able to delete the files. BUT - I still get this message from Link2SD:

"Warning, App2SD is not supported by your device. Because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. You can link the app in order to move it's files to your SD card."

So, it still didn't work. I re-did the whole process 3 times. I'm stumped.

Question: in the instructions, after partitioning the SD card, it says to flash Victorious-0.2.1, not 0.3.1. Does that need to be updated, or must it be 0.2.1?

I've zipped through this thread a few times, but didn't see a reference to this. If any of you use Kaspersky Mobile Security, make sure it runs/starts. Mine always hung up on "loading" and never actually ran. That being said, I did enjoy using this before I went back to stock (for now)

You don't pick move to sd. Click create link. Trust me. Thats what you want.
And i noticed that too. The post needs updated. Just make sure you use jerryscripts update no props to update your phone to mg5 before you flash victorious 0.31

Is there a way to fix this so it actually says Gallery? It's no issue, just a little inconvenient ya know?

Ok so I decided to install this rom again after updating the baseband version, but as soon as I updated it it started freezing 30 seconds after use. After trying to uninstall all apps to check if it was conflicting with the rom it still didn't work. I ended up restoring to my back up. I have no idea whats wrong with it but its really annoying and I wanted to use this rom at least until CM was more stable but sadly i can't use it. if you guys have any advice please help out!

It used to do that to me a little. Doesn't any more. Sometimes when it froze I would just give it a minute and it would do a soft reboot and be fine.

Thanks for clearing that up. Problem remains - phone still only sees one SD card for 2GB. I have a 32GB SD card and created a 10GB partition. Neither partition is found by the system.
I'm getting ready to reformat the entire card and throw in the towel.

No no no no! Its supposed to say your sd card is 2gb. That means it successfully swapped internal for external. Check your device memory. It should say...after taking out the ten gigs...like 19 gigs of device memory. The 10gb partition wont show up there, but you can check it in storage info in link2sd. It sounds like everything is set up correctly to me

Where i have 26 gigs it should say you have like 19. If it does then youre golden. You say the system doesnt recognize them...if it doesn't show your sd card -10gb for device memory...did you make both partitions primary?

it happened to me every time i turned it on

btw how do you soft reboot?

This is a very common problem. Set your boot CPU speed to be at about 1.2Ghz at boot, after a minute or two you can OC back to 1.8 or whatever you use and the problem should go away.

Not completely sure, but it looks like the galleries were linked to the SD card and now the link is missing. I get the same thing after flashing a different Kernel until I rebuild the links. Then all is well. These type of things also show up in the App Manager until the links are fixed.

Tried flashing victorious 0.3.1, and it gave me the message "E: unable to open zip file", followed by saying error unable to flash zip. searched through the posts here but couldn't find another report of this error? and i did wipe the caches and re download the update.

Try to redownload the ROM.

Hmm, maybe I am set up OK. I show:

Device Memory - Total Space 20.15GB
SD Card - Total Space 1.83GB

I don't remember anything about setting up the partitions as primary, so I'm guessing that I didn't. How is this done?

If you want something that works, and works well, stick with Victorious. If you want gadgets, doodads and random reboots, go CM.

OK, now crossing off "Find a forum post with the word Doodads" from my bucket list. :) Sorry, I couldn't resist, coffee came shooting out my nose when I read that. Thanks for the laugh!!!

And I didn't even get into the whatsits, hownows and thingamabobbers.
