Root [Virgin Mobile] [VMOBI][ROM][KERNEL] Victorious ROM + VaeVictus OC kernel (Updated 7-30-13)

Does anyone know where the signal icons are. I want to add some color to them and I changed the ones I found in the SystemUI.apk which is where I've found them on previous phones, but those changed didn't affect anything.

Try framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk, I believe they are in twframework, but I haven't looked yet.

Update package would be easier for you though....

Rom running great with jupiter kernel. Thanks you and jupiter for the work you and others have done for the victory.

Quick question and may be stupid in a way. Do you think the victory is capable of running multiview like the s3? Or the floating screen where you can watch movies and do other applications as well?

I kinda doubt it. The S3 has a quad core processor, so it can split the tasks up better than the Victory can with it's dual core processor. I'm sure there are major kernel modifications in order to make it work as well. I figure either CM or AOKP will figure out how to port it over eventually, but I won't be holding my breath for it to work on the Victory.

YouTube doesn't work :(

YouTube works fine for me. It's been removed from the ROM since it's technically bloatware since you can download if you want it, so I removed it. If you still have it then you probably don't have all the required files for it, try uninstalling it and then reinstalling from the Play Store.

Well the us s3 does the same on the stock build and its dual core. Just wondering one of the things I liked from the s3

When using the camera i'm able to take pictures, but when i try to look at them it just says "unable to view photo".

No big deal, just wanted to mention anything i see.

I just tested, opened the camera app, took a pic, touched the preview in lower right corner, and it opened up in the gallery.

A couple of things to check:

  1. With camera open, under settings, are you saving to Phone or Memory Card?
  2. Are you using any third party camera apps or gallery apps other than stock?
  3. Does the same thing happen with the video recorder?
If you are saving to memory card, and not using any third party apps, try booting into recovery, wiping cache and dalvik-cache, running fix-permissions, then rebooting.

If that doesn't fix it, I'll need a logcat to track down the problem.

Nice job on the Victorious 0.1.2 update. Everything is perfect just the way i want it. The stock clock is back, stock music player is back. There's no more permanent network notification. Permanent ext2int. The best part is RedSpot overclock is included. Thank you, JerryScript.

So, out of boredom, I installed goghvmu_stock_rooted_deodexed.zip, and to my surprise it worked. Mainly because I'm on the Sprint and that's for VM. Then I tried to install Victorious-0.1.2.zip again, which always fails on the stock Sprint Victory, and it also worked. I booted it, and everything worked... Except data services. No 4g, 3g, anything G.

Cool, I'm attempting to get it working on both phones, but I don't have a Sprint phone to test. Good to know we are close already. Most likely there are a few apps and libs that need to be swapped out between the two.

If there's any way I can help, any files or anything you need pulled from this phone or any sort of testing, just tell me how and I can do it.

I had success just using a 3rd party app and it even gives me a silent camera option, which I love. I'm really happy with the ROM right now and I know things are just going to get more awesome.

Thanks again!

So quick question when I install an app from the appstore shouldn't it install to the sd card now with Victorious

Before i flashed victorious I had 300 mb on my internal now after I have like lil over 100 just trying to figure it out.

Has anyone made a theme already through ninja morph.?

I haven't made a complete theme, too busy making changes to the ramdisk right now, trying to get a2sd working. I have tested NinjaMorph, and it did work changing the restart icon in the power menu, haven't tested beyond that. I believe it was in twframeworks-res.apk, that's the overlay to the standard frameworks-res.apk, so it should have most of the icons and xml files used for themes. ;)

No, extSD2internalSD only swaps the internal SDcard with the external one. This allows you to install apps that have huge secondary files (ones downloaded after you install the app). This is primarily games, but there are lots of other apps that use large secondary files.

I'm working on adding true apps2sd support, most of it seems to be built into the system, just not active. If I can get it working, together with extSD2internalSD, the Victorious will have virtually unlimited app storage (the size of your SDcard). No promises, but I am working on it!

Hey Jerry how hard would it be for me to remove the app2sd mod.

There's no apps2sd mod, just extSD2internalSD. To remove it, delete this file:

/system/etc/init.d/11extsd2internalsd

That's the script that works the magic, remove it and you should be back to using the phone's SDcard as internal and your SDcard as external.

Finally back in the game guys. Took forever. So far, it's stable, clean, and fast. No idea why the initial install failed, but all is well now. Thanks for the great rom jerry.
