Ok so brand new victory right out of the box steps are as follows correct me if im wrong.

2. update if it isnt updated
3. install twrp with odin
4. make a backup with twrp
5. install busybox and superuser
6. Wipe cache, then under advanced wipe dalvik-cache, DO NOT WIPE SYSTEM!
7. install Victorious-0.1.3 using flash zip from twrp.
sound about right?

Thanks so much for all your effort on this. I installed and it works great. At least the tweaks to the ROM made the phone feel even snappier.

I did encounter one issue, or maybe just my misunderstanding. The internal to external swap worked, in that the phone reported having 29 his of space under the storage section is the settings menu and it showed 1.83 for the external which was the size of my internal. But the system files and apps all still resided in the external (smaller, previously internal drive) and newly installed apps were installed to the external add well so I still quickly ran out of space.

After installing victorious, are my system files and installed apps supposed to be on the new phone card (my external 32gb card). Or do they stay on the smaller SD that came with the phone?

I am using TWRP as my recovery. I had been using link2sd but uninstalled it (after removing all links)

Thanks again for your work on this.

Apps and system files stay on the phone's internal memory (not the internal sdcard). Swapping the external and internal SDCards allows you to install apps that have large secondary files (mostly games).

You can use Links2SD to move most of your app's files to an second partition on your SDCard (requires partitioning to ext3 or ext4). This still doesn't move everything, but it will help with space limitations.

I'm asking users to try out various 2sd scripts/apps so we can determine the best one(s) to include in Victorious. ;)

Edit: OK, I reread the thread and understand how this works now. I want to disable external2internal for now since I think I am better off using link2sd to manage my app partition. I removed the script from the zip and rezipped the file and put it on my external sd card. Now when I boot into recovery (TWRP), I get an error when trying to install. It says it can't verify the signature or else just has an error. I was wondering if anyone could help me with why this might be happening.

I am teying to install using victorious 0.1.3 on TWRP. I am using a mac to unzip, delete and rezip the file (the standard archive utility). Thanks for any suggestions.

Don't bother with re-flashing, just open a root capable file manager on your phone and delete the following file:

/system/etc/init.d/11externalsd2internalsd

Changing things in an update zip makes it not match the signature, that could be the trouble you had making changes.

Ahh. OK. So I think I will uninstall link2SD (after removing links), install victorious as is, and then reinstall link2sd. Then I just need to use symlinks again to get play music to behave how I want. I think.

After installing Victorious, delete the /system/etc/init.d/11externalsd2internalsd file, reboot, then use Links2Sd to move your apps. ;)

so if i have stock apps and install Victorious will the apps installed afterwards go to my sd card or the internal?

Thanks. I decided to do a standard install since it seemed like it might be more compatible with future updates. I then reinstalled link2sd and that is working fine so my app partition is back to a good size. I then updated my symlinks for Google play so data/data/com.Google.android.music/ files and cache were pointed to what is now sdcard0 and everything seems to be working better than fine.

Thanks for victorious!

Awesome! I was thinking about getting rid of the external2internal script before re-reading this. Now I will just re-use Link2SD. Initial testing of it works!

Thank you, JerryScript!

Now I just have to do a little house cleaning on both cards. Seems like there is a lot of junk there from many apps that don't need to take up so much space. I already moved my backups to my computer... for now.

Oh, and FolderMount seems to work as well.

Edit: Okay after doing some linking with Root Explorer (for Play Music) and Link2SD, I went from 6MB of free space to 1.18GB of free space out of 1.83GB :) Now I feel as if I have the best of both worlds!

Oh, and can someone help me get some of my system apps back? Preferably Memo. I used that a lot. I backed them up using TitaniumBackup but they don't seem to be installing correctly. As a matter of fact many of my system backups are having a really tough time installing.

Thanks in advance.

It's generally not a good idea to try and restore system apps using titanium backup. The best way to do it is to copy them into /system/app, set permissions and reboot. If you download the entire deodexed stock rom Jerry posted you can copy the ones you want.

Anywho here's the memo app.

Download, copy to /system/app, set permissions to match other system apps, reboot and enjoy

**Edit.. Updated link due to Google docs being uncooperative

Thank you very much! I'm always learning new things.

I probably should have included a deletion line in the updater-script to remove any existing version of TrevE Mod's WiFi Tether app before installing the current one. It appears as if those who already had it are having troubles with the version I've added, something to do with the saved settings I imagine. Uninstall then reinstall seems to solve the issue.

BTW- The name of the apk used is : WifiTether_TrevE_Mod_11_22_2012.apk
I have tested three other versions, and this one seems the most stable and easiest to get working on the Victory.

With internal swap whats the best way to upgrade sd cards. Just shut down phone and copy all info from one to the other?

Yes, and thanks for reminding me, I need to put a note in the OP about shutting down your phone before removing your SdCard. Since the internal and external cards are swapped, attempting to unmount the SdCard for removal will unmount the internal SdCard (could be some good tricks from that). This means your external card would still be mounted when you removed it, which is never a good idea.
