I apologize for the noob quetion, but I am a little paranoid about this. Will installing voodoo cause problems when updating to froyo? I'm already rooted and have cwm.
no, you can get rid of it at any time.

I'm not very good with ADB; however, with this link([ HOW TO ] ADB AND WHY I LOVE ADB commands <3) I was able to run the command prompt on my computer and have adb access.
Here you go brad.
adb

Install ROM Manager from the market, and go in and hit "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery". Let it reboot, then do this.
1. Download those, and put adb and the nix folder on your Desktop
2. Open terminal
3. cd Desktop
4. ./adb push nixCWMfascinate/redbend_ua /data/local
5. ./adb push nixCWMfascinate/zImage /data/local
6. ./adb shell
7. su
8. chmod -R 755 /data/local
9. /data/local/redbend_ua restore /data/local/zImage /dev/block/bml7
10. phone reboots
11. remount your sd card to the computer. Close terminal, and re open it.
12. adb shell
13. su
14. /data/local/redbend_ua restore /data/local/zImage /dev/block/bml8
An interesting side effect I just noticed: The secret string stuff I did - in my case, just disabling the battery full notification - seems to be undone. Looking back in the menu option, it's still checkmarked as disabled. Anyone else have this?
voodoo v.1 was perfect for me; I ran into problems when I tried to uninstall it and move to v.2. I never had issues with jt's OC Kernels.hmmm i am so tempted.
Should I wait for a more stable version? People are saying battery problems... uninstall problems... hmmm.
I tried the 0.1voodoo and that was a ruckus. Had to bust out odin and what not...
Hmmm, thats a first for me. I assume you are following the xda tutorial to the letter? Put the .tar in PDA and just hit start right? Should take like 7 seconds to flash and you're goldenI've been trying to install clockwork manager, but everytime I open up odin to install the CWMRecovery.tar file, Odin freezes when I click start. I've ran it in all the compatability mode types (xp sp2, sp3, 95/98, 2000) and it freezes everytime. Does anyone have this problem or have a solution for this?

Wow never heard that one before. Never seen odin not work. You got the battery out right? Im sure you tried rebooting et al.Yeah, i've been following the directions, but right after I hit "start" Odin keeps freezing... I guess i'll have to wait until a new update comes out for it or something...

I took the battery out and everything, i followed the instructions on the dev site, but i think it's something with Odin. Is anyone else using Windows 7? Or any other possible solutions? Could Odin v1.2 be used for this instead of 1.3?
Prudence is good. I am trying to be more prudent. I waited but finally gave in. IMO, most issues are with the OC'd variations. If you went with a stock Ghz voodoo kernel I think you'd be totally OK. No harm at all in waiting.I'm worried about applying the lagfix now because of the issues I'm reading on XDA. Perhaps it'd be prudent to wait?
Yeah I found jt's slightly higher performance on bench stuff but I could not complete Quadrant and I got some random lock ups. Dirrks 1200LV enables me to complete Quadrant and I have not had a lock up yet. And even if I could run jt's trouble free which I cant I'd likely still go with Dirrk's right now since the voltage is so much lower and thus the battery life is sure to be betterI tried a couple Dirk OC Voodoo Kernals(he's been making alot of revisions), standard voltage seemed stable, no issues for me... JT's OC Voodoo Kernal is faster though, according to my tested bench scores. Been running JT's since 12pm yesterday and don't have ANY issues. I love how smooth everything runs.
FYI: I've been using clockwork to flash all these new kernal's right over top the last one, no wipes and no problems.
1st are you certain you got CWM on right; many people think they do when they dont. Follow this to the letter and you'll be golden in 10-15 minutes. Clockworkmod installation how to for windows / *nix - xda-developersI'm having a bit of trouble here. I've downloaded the Voodoo file (voodoo_kernel_0.2.zip) and placed it in the root of the sd card. I'm running CWM, fresh flash, reboot into recovery. When recovery mode comes up and I run update.zip, it starts to verify the update package and then gives the following error message:
E:failed to verife whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Any thoughts? I'm new to Android but I don't see what I could be doing wrong here.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Also, I'm running the original lagfix which I believe is ext2. I think that I've read that I need to remove this, but everything that I've read about removing it says that it will crash the phone.
Do you get this screen or not:I guess my last post didn't post. First off, thanks for the quick response!
I can't use that CWM tutorial because I'm on a Mac. I downloaded ROM Manager from the market and used it download and install CWM.
After running the OCLF from the market it does not show the lagfix install or lagfix undo as available. Both are unavailable.
After placing the voodoo_kernel_0.2.zip into a folder named voodoo in the root of the sd card, I'm still receiving said errors.
