Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. As it turns out, was an ID-10-T error, just had to Safety Remove the phone, reconnect, and kill/restart the adb server. Ah well, back to where I was a day ago!

OK. If you read this earlier, I fixed some errors I was having. I ran into a problem when I was trying to chmod. can't remember exactly what it was. but, i skipped on and I completed the process but definitely did NOT get voodoo installed. The phone even rebooted. But, I got nothing. Poo.

An interesting side effect I just noticed: The secret string stuff I did - in my case, just disabling the battery full notification - seems to be undone. Looking back in the menu option, it's still checkmarked as disabled. Anyone else have this?

Mine still gave me the notification though its disabled and before Voodoo.

voodoo v.1 was perfect for me; I ran into problems when I tried to uninstall it and move to v.2. I never had issues with jt's OC Kernels.
Part of waiting is prudent as sometimes the dev's even admit they need to tweak stuff shortly after releasing stuff. jt did this with stand alone voodoo and Dirrk did this with his low voltage kernels.
The bottom line however is if the first 99 people try a flash and its good to go for them that still does not guarantee that we would be ok as user 100. Although under those conditions I'd jump on it in a second. Problem is based exclusively on xda posts is it seems 50% of users are good to go and 50% have some kinda issue. Now admittedly, those with issues will post more and that might skew the impression/numbers

I've been trying to install clockwork manager, but everytime I open up odin to install the CWMRecovery.tar file, Odin freezes when I click start. I've ran it in all the compatability mode types (xp sp2, sp3, 95/98, 2000) and it freezes everytime. Does anyone have this problem or have a solution for this?

Hmmm, thats a first for me. I assume you are following the xda tutorial to the letter? Put the .tar in PDA and just hit start right? Should take like 7 seconds to flash and you're golden

Yeah, i've been following the directions, but right after I hit "start" Odin keeps freezing... I guess i'll have to wait until a new update comes out for it or something...

Wow never heard that one before. Never seen odin not work. You got the battery out right? Im sure you tried rebooting et al.

I took the battery out and everything, i followed the instructions on the dev site, but i think it's something with Odin. Is anyone else using Windows 7? Or any other possible solutions? Could Odin v1.2 be used for this instead of 1.3?

Edit: After restarting my comp and phone a couple times Odin finally worked. It's weird how it didn't before.

Prudence is good. I am trying to be more prudent. I waited but finally gave in. IMO, most issues are with the OC'd variations. If you went with a stock Ghz voodoo kernel I think you'd be totally OK. No harm at all in waiting.

I tried a couple Dirk OC Voodoo Kernals(he's been making alot of revisions), standard voltage seemed stable, no issues for me... JT's OC Voodoo Kernal is faster though, according to my tested bench scores. Been running JT's since 12pm yesterday and don't have ANY issues. I love how smooth everything runs.
FYI: I've been using clockwork to flash all these new kernal's right over top the last one, no wipes and no problems.

Yeah I found jt's slightly higher performance on bench stuff but I could not complete Quadrant and I got some random lock ups. Dirrks 1200LV enables me to complete Quadrant and I have not had a lock up yet. And even if I could run jt's trouble free which I cant I'd likely still go with Dirrk's right now since the voltage is so much lower and thus the battery life is sure to be better
I'm having a bit of trouble here. I've downloaded the Voodoo file (voodoo_kernel_0.2.zip) and placed it in the root of the sd card. I'm running CWM, fresh flash, reboot into recovery. When recovery mode comes up and I run update.zip, it starts to verify the update package and then gives the following error message:
E:failed to verife whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Any thoughts? I'm new to Android but I don't see what I could be doing wrong here.

Also, I'm running the original lagfix which I believe is ext2. I think that I've read that I need to remove this, but everything that I've read about removing it says that it will crash the phone.

1st are you certain you got CWM on right; many people think they do when they dont. Follow this to the letter and you'll be golden in 10-15 minutes. Clockworkmod installation how to for windows / *nix - xda-developers
You must remove the ext2 lag fix before putting voodoo on. I use used the market's OCLF just undo it thru the app.
Finally, you don't want update.zip option in CWM you want install from sdcard further down the options list

Do you get this screen or not:
From ROM Manager when you Hit Rebbot into Recovery it should take you right to this above screen if it doesnt you dont have CWM. Also make sure to hit Flash ClockworkMod Recovery and pick Fascinate. You likely will need to find a windows PC to complete the installation of CWM if you dont have the above screen
