Root voodoo5 kernels are here

Ok so my phone just froze and I had to do a battery pull first time I've had to do this. Thought maybe it got to hot from oc but I pulled battery and put it straight back in and it said its just 35
 
Yep, my batt was even cooler than that, just froze after 20min of NFS + PowerAMP abuse. Then, when I turned it back on it froze in my email. It didn't help that I didn't give it much time after boot (was still scanning, opening apps etc..)
 
Yeah the browser closes are now every 10 mins...,flashed back to stable 12/3.....promising oc start though. :)
 
For sure 12/03 stable is nice, maybe it's in my head but I'm pretty sure I noticed a liiittle extra smoothness at 1200. WANT :)
 
Yeah guys same here I had a gallery freeze a bit ago. This is smoother than the stock Ghz. Scrolling thru menus in ScoreCenter I can see the difference. I wish nemesis would log into irc so we could leave him some feedback. This is a really close to ready kernel though but its apparent now that its more than just heavy 3d which can make it crack. Still well done indeed. Just needs some minor tweaks I hope. On my next freeze I will probably return to 12/03 stable like others did just for stability or until nemesis gets use test 2

Of course :D although you assume I'll be up all night pestering nemesis. Thats like assuming you'll get wet jumping into a pool ;):D. Seriously though I cannot pester him if he doesnt log into IRC. I dont think he's been in today :( I maybe could leave him an xda PM but who knows how often guys are in there anymore. I logged in today and found a PM from nine days ago, :eek: oops

I need help. I installed JTs 12/05 stable from ROM manager and it gave me a ton of issues. I've already had his previous Voodoo rom. I restored my phone using Odin and now when rebooting, after the verizon boot, I get a black screen. Don't know what to do?
 
Did you flash a nonVoodoo over a Voodoo? Are you on DJ05? irc channel #samsung-fascinate for live help
 
Out of curiosity, how stable have the releases been? I used CM Nightlies on my Droid, so I'm used to instabilities. Using that as a reference point, how does it compare?

Just about perfect. There is occasionally a bad kernel here and there but everything in ROM Manager is good now and anything on redrum is also solid. Seriously no worries flashing anything in those sections.
The beta test stuff like currently with this 1.2Ghz OC voodoo from nemesis that is not 100% stable but we all know thats part of the process. But nothing released even these betas is going to bork the phone. And this time around uninstalling voodoo is a snap

How did you remove? You can still get into recovery right?

yeah first we have to know *how* you tried removing voodoo and if you can get into clockwork recovery or not.

voodoo5 cant be flashed directly over voodoo2 afaik because it has some significant code changes in it that would cause conflicts...(dont know why jt put it in rm :o)

if you can get into clockwork recovery though we can get you through it pretty easily
 
I ran the 1.2 ghz voodoo for awhile last night. Definitely got some random freezes and stuff but its close. A little fine tuning and hopefully we will have stable 1.2 voodoo.

I tried removing voodoo using the voodoo_uninstall 1.4.zip. I still can get into Clockwork. My CWM is red now. Its say CWM v.2.5.1.2 - Voodoo lagfix.

ah...well the uninstaller will not work then as voodoo5 flashed newer cwr on it

you should still be able to disable it from there though....navigate down to voodoo in red recovery

click disable lagfix, then click allow system conversion....then reboot

it might take awhile to reboot...if it hasnt done anything in 30 minutes let me know if it takes or not...if not (and id say it might not) then we can go from there

Did as you said. Phone rebooted and after the verizon logo, the screen is black. Is that normal and still wait the 30 mins?
