VZW Employee available for questions!!

My manager is standing next to me as we speak, reading what I type. If verizon didnt want us blogging or checking out forums, they would block this website, just like they block most websites. Anything relevant to our product, they keep open. Or any affiliated companies. Ive learned many fixed that have helped me in my job. Ie, the moto droid service program, the ##service thing..

As long as you have your managers blessings, GREAT!

Here's my question:

I ordered my Incredible online, for $299. $199 with the rebate. Then I got $30 off for my every 2 year contract, and $30 off for a promo. Therefore, I paid $139 for the phone. Now while I've got fingers crossed the Incredible works well for me, call quality is the most important for me. I wear hearing aids and it has a good rating...T4/M3. Tried out one in the store, and it was fine. But I've heard lots about awful reception and call quality since, so, if the call quality isn't there, I'll have to move on. Anyhow, since I paid $139, will only $139 go towards a different phone? Or will they take into account the credits? For example, if I bought the Droid, would it be an even trade (minus the $35 restocking fee) or would I have to pay an extra $60? Thanks for your help!

found something interesting out as long as you are eligible for an upgrade before the end of the year you are eligible now if you upgrade to a smartphone.
also if you did an order for the DINC you can cancel it if it has not shipped. and then you can get the x when its available. or if you get your DINC and you have not opened or activated it you can do an exchange with NO RESTOCK FEE. which is hugh, verizon is trying to take care of its customers.

Like I said, not a big deal on the VIP.:)

I think the article state the slogan to change to "Rule the Air." It's definitely better than the "Can you hear me now?" I was getting sick of that one.

i think ur right we got a few posters in the store the other day that had some hot chick on them and just said "rule the air" we thought they looked stupid so they went right from the fed ex box into the dumpster! lol

My friend works at a verizon call center here. He couldn't help me out but I'm on my second replacement incredible since launch. I loved this phone till the recent hardware garbage problems

I'm still unsure what to do about my camera freezing problems. Is there going to be an update that fixes this issue? It seems to affect so many phones. Is it a hardware problem? I'm hesitant to return since the Incredible is in such short supply and I'm well past the 30 days. Would I get a new one or a refurb? I've had this problem from the very beginning.

Skippy, go to a Verizon store. They are replacing Incredibles with this issue.

Sent from my HTC Incredible using Tapatalk Pro.

Yea because we cant resell the item after its been activated on someoens number. Regardless if you used it or not. So now we lose the subsidy behind the phone, and have to send it back to be put into the CLNR(certified like new replacement) program..shipping, overhead, ect, all costs money. They should charge $100 restocking fees lol..
i believe the question pertained to people who's phone hadn't even shipped yet!

You shouldn't make posts about things you do not have knowledge of. Because you seem to think two different processors will perform the same because they are operating at the same frequency, this means you don't have even a remote understanding of how CPUs work.
Faster maybe but the person I was responded to claimed it was twice as fast and that is what i really was questioning. And thanks for the info, i lost my copy of CPU weekly. And here i thought we were all grown ups dbag, i mean dguy, and therefore could posts about shit we "didn't have knowledge of". Kinda thought that was the point of a discussion, believe its called an... what was it....... o yea AN OPINION. So no offence but take your blood pressure med's and chill out some player:cool::cool:

Well if you receive a shipment, you must activate the phone before you can return it or exchange it. If you dont, they think you got the phone, never activated it and want to sell it, so they charge you full retail(by they i mean a automated system that checks activations)
the phones in question, i believe, HAVEN'T EVEN SHIPPED YET!!!!"
JUST MY OPINION THOUGH:D:D:D:D:D

If someone makes a post about something you don't know about, why on Earth would you try and argue with them about it? Opinion has no place in a discussion of facts. If I say "a rock will fall if I drop it", something that is tested and proven to happen, there is absolutely no reason for someone to step in and say "You're wrong, it won't fall" like you did.

Berry2Droid, I have a sales related question.

My mother has had Verizon for 6 years and 5 years ago I was given a line on the account. At that time I was 16, I am now 21. I just upgraded to Incredible and want to pull my line and number off the account. Only problem is I have no credit. And don't want to tie up a 400 dollar deposit for an entire year. I really want to pull my own line off to save my mother some money (she has been so nice paying for my phone all these years) and maybe start establishing some credit.

Is there any way around this deposit? I'm a minimum wage working student and cant justify 400 dollars to set up an account.

Ok. I'm impressed! Fwiw, I'm used to the VZW employees who have to hide their trips here, because they're leaking out info to us about upcoming phones! Different scenario, I know. ;) BTW, thank you for your willing and helpful spirit. You add something to our place! :)

I stand corrected then. I guess I wasn't aware that saying it was at least twice as fast was a statement of fact. And you can look at benchmarks all you want but until you see a side by side thorough comparison then don't tell me these are facts and opinion has no place here. CNET's OPINION is that it is sluggish compare to the inc so shall we tell them no one wants to hear their opinion either? Oh and that was rhetorical

Long time lurker, but first post!

My Incredible was stolen last night, and I called Asurion today to make a claim. The phone is on backorder, and they said it could be up to a month before I receive my new one. I do not have any older Verizon phones (I sold them on eBay after I bought the Incredible), so I cannot reactivate an older device. I spoke with Verizon about a loaner phone and was informed that this was not possible. My girlfriend received a loaner phone from Verizon in the past, so I know that this used to be possible.

Do I have any options besides buying an interim phone until the new Incredible arrives?

Ok, so I want to switch to the DroidX since I have an Incredible on backorder that isn't due till 7/14. I'm a new customer that ordered online so I don't have a cell# yet with Verizon. Who do I need to contact? I called C/S today and they transfered me to someplace but it said on the recording that department wasn't opened.

if you have no credit more than likely you will come up with a 125 deposit. there is no way around it unless you put it in someone elses name. and fyi having cell phone in your name does not help your credit they will never report you pay your bill so it will never help you there it can only hurt you if you dnt pay your bill..

the corportate locations do not have any loaner phones. bt some of the indirect stores do loaner phones for a down payment usually. bt it can vary from indirect to indirect. i wish verizon did have loaner phones there is certain situations that you need to have one.

couple options you can call National customer service 18009220204 they can cancel the order bt they are not doing preorders for droid x yet. or just wait and get the phone on the 14th and take it to a corporate store on the 15th and exchange it for your droid x, just dont activate the DINC and there will be no restock fee.

Consider changing it to a separate account, but still in your mother's name. Have them add you as an admin on the account, and make sure they bill it separately (not two separate accounts on one bill, which is what they normally do). It will be completely separate, just that it will still have her name as the primary contact of the line.

What about the rumors that the incredible is being discontinued. This makes me sad because I love this phone and it's form factor and want to see continued support like froyo on it.. Any word?

I believe that the discontinuation was a misconception. Verizon phased out the version of the phone shipping without a micro-sd card, and began making it standard and changed the packaging to a "Droid" theme.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

you are absolutely correct, mod's and guides have been trying to squash the incredible discontinued discussion for a while.

A little late but I have a question. I have an Incredible that syncs with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Emails and contacts sync fine. Calendar entries synced fine for a couple of days but now I get an error message; Exchange Server Reports Status Errors.

Items entered onto my incredible show up in Outlook but Items entered in Outlook do not show up on the Incredible. A friend with an HTC Evo on Sprint syncs with the same Exchange system and reports no calendar problems at all which is why I suspect this may be a Verizon issue.

Earlier this year, people reported the same calendar problem on the HTC Eris.

Any idea who I might contact at Verizon to look into this?

Thanks
