Welcome to the new AndroidForums (Round 2)

Funny one today: any time I'm trying to compose a post I get thrown out of the composition box about once per minute (roughly, not timed it). Doesn't depend on what device I'm using, same on laptop as on phone. <It happened just after I typed that last word>

The text I'd typed prior to that point is still available as a draft post (bar the last few characters), and I can click back into the composition box and continue typing. I suspect that it's related to auto-saving of drafts, but this interrupting of composition is new today.

Even I got the same problem. When I type, the text is saved as draft, then the whole page reloads. And the last few words need to be retyped. (Just now, I had to type "reloads" again) I've noticed that the page reloads only when I get a message "saved as draft"...

I've only tried it on Laptop. (This time I had to type "top" again)
I'm using Opera browser if that is necessary...

(4 times reloaded while typing this...)

I have no idea what it is but when it refreshes i have to scroll down from the top, find my reply, and start where i left off. Happened twice while i was pecking this out on my LG G6.
I merged this into the forum update thread where it is already being discussed.

Nexus 5 running 7.1,
In my feed some of the topic buttons cause a force close. The windows are not colored in any way and it has the AF app icon?
Any of them with the app icon cause an immediate FC

Like this one for the Brigadier:

And also @Phases and @stevealbright is there a way to fix the way this is displayed? Pictured is a thread from LG L70, says Zmax Pro above every thread, and when looking through threads, I can't see which forum its from unless the device is mentioned in the title...
Yes I use a zmax pro, but this is showing while on Nexus 5 too? Is this how its supposed to be? I thought the app reads the device and sorts threads depending on which device you're using?

I think this post was supposed to be in the Forums thread that never gets answered, Bahahahah!! Pinging @stevealbright. Ahem, sorry. But really tho, I get the same crap with every thread I open saying it is in the ZTE Warp Sync forum. A wk before that everything said it was a Kyocera Hydro. Would this be a memory issue? This app has a long way to go to reach Tapatalk capability.. We'd like to be able to get select notifications, notification ringtones, ect.. We open the apk and we get NO information. Ever. Just a list of threads. Who liked our stuff? Who quoted me so I can respond? Is this app even getting worked on?! C'mon guys.. I'm sure I'm not the only one turning in reports and we're not even getting any useful results. You guys also made a Forums.apk thread and there's almost no responses from ya.. Help us help you

Well, I try to keep the Forums thread up to date but this week I have been playing catch up. Last week was IO, as you probably know and I was lucky enough to attend this year. As a developer, you have probably investigated all of the framework updates including Android Architecture.

With that said, I have been busy working on an update and have been testing that new framework as well. It is currently in Alpha but from recent tests I can see where this Alpha is better than a regular SQLite setup (due to a lot of dumb sqlite related things that need to happen currently). The new lifecycle management could really help improve stability across all devices! I'm looking forward to that a lot!!1

I can go into more detail of a lot of the problematic aspects of the current app if you want but I would rather keep that in a PM to not confuse any support threads... or bore the crap out of everyone.

TL;DR Update will soon come but am in the middle of refactoring some things. New build will make more sense in a lot of ways. It will connect the dots between our initial vision of the Forums app and what TT is. I will PM you a non-public beta build that solves some Channel issues.

It was my best guess with what I could see in the app lol.. Honestly I'm surprised I landed in a thread somewhat relevant :)

The forum app as of latest update is loaded with FCs.. Was only on threads labeled with the app icon itself, but now it's those and seemingly random threads. Some open, some FC. Goddammit why did yall kill the TT app?

As of today, giant step backwards with freezes on initial loading and scrolling and changing views. Had to force stop numerous times.
Wonder if it is related to the TMo security update on my V20 received today?

Steve has a banging' idea & setup in progress that I'm sure many of us will like.. It's way faster and images open better in app from what I understand. He's been quiet but apparently VERY busy trying to give us what we want. PROPS @stevealbright !!

I still see no way to navigate to the last post in a thread. :( Xenforo appends "latest" onto the URL but that doesn't seem to work.
Apparently I can't click a mouse right.
To get to the latest post, click the time stamp under the title.
1m (3w)
... click the 1m.
My bad. Last time I checked that was going to the first post still.
Awesome! Thank You. The 'last post' functionality is a must for forum browsing for me. Again, I would not have known it was added or updated to work correctly unless it had been mentioned by you great guys.

I am noticing that I am not getting the hyperlink on the timestamp UNLESS I am actively logged in. This is consistent across browsers and devices
Weird, good catch!

You guys must have run an update recently?

I've noticed in the last week or two that this feature (hyperlink going to 'Last Post', on the timestamp of thread headers) has gone back to being behind the log-in wall.

If I'm one of the only people that actively uses this feature then don't worry too much about fixing it, just for my sake. My browsing time is ever decreasing ( :) life, I tells ya)

---edit---
Looks fixed, or I am crazy

---edit 2--- Update
Maybe not totally fixed?
I'm seeing different behaviour across different pages of the website. From the main page, with the rolling 'recent posts' box near the bottom of the page, I can click the timestamp of the posts. If I'm browsing a specific board/device/channel I can not click a timestamp hyperlink until log in

@stevealbright how's about a refresh option in the little menu up on the top right? When a page is near full it's silly having to scroll all the way to the top to pull down again.
Navigating back and forth to refresh wouldn't be so bad, if not for the FCs.
