What Brand will make the next nexus?

what do you guys think who would make the next nexus device this year? and let me know ur guys opinion on what you guys think will be on the next nexus?:)

Larry Page has just met up with the LG CEO so maybe LG again? There's also the rumoured X-Phone by Motorola, but we're not sure if that will be a Nexus device.

Personally, I'd like to see another HTC Nexus.

I think it may be LG again, or maybe Sony. Not many people have thought about Sony, but I think eventually they are going to get a turn at a Nexus.

Anyways, if most of the rumors about the X phone turn out to be true I will want that one. I've missed the physical build of my Droid and DroidX since I left Verizon, I never use cases and I would like to not worry so much when I do outdoor things. A Moto X on Tmobile... yes please!

I think it should be Sony. Their last few Xperia phones have really stepped up to the plate.

Most manufacturers who get to make a Nexus usually gets a big marketing push as well. Since most others have already had their turn, I think that Google should reward Sony for pushing the current Xperia line so hard.

Honestly I'm hoping for another HTC Nexus. Love the build quality of their phones. I don't think it will be Moto this time because of Google just acquiring them last year and they are putting alot of effort with them to start their X-phone line. I do see Sony having a possible chance as they have stepped up a bit, and they haven't made one yet. I also see LG being given another go as their Nexus 4 was a great success...besides the launch:)

I'd be happy with Moto, LG, Sony or HTC.

My absolute fav would be something totally out of left field - Nokia :D Sadly, not going to happen.

I would not want it to be Samsung: they're already too dominant in the Android market. Plus, though they've been cutting edge technically, the build quality of their phones hasn't been up to snuff in the past. It has improved with the S3 and allegedly with the S4, but I still don't think it's up with HTC or Sony.

If lg makes it and the past is any indication look at the new optimus as a source on what it will look like.

Exactly. Thats how googles doing its cost cutting. Use all the same parts and manufacturing lines as another phone and simply change the software and a few minor cosmetic things

Thankfully LG has confirmed it. I love what LG has been doing the past year or so and I'm really excited about the stuff they have in the works.

Samsung has become a company that I don't want messing with my Nexus. HTC has to give part of their phones sales to Apple so a HTC Nexus would benefit Apple as well and I damn sure don't want that. Motorola? Don't even want to go there on how much I despise Motorola.

price, updates, dev community. ;)

compare the s4 specs with the n4's and then the price. Are the slight improvements worth $300 more??

The note2.... imo is too friggin big for a phone. Now if you have the need to carry a tablet around with you all the time for work etc etc.... then I can see using one to save carrying 2 devices. But just to have it... nah I'll pass. ;)

I havent stuck with a nexus phone as my main phone for any long amount of time. I really like the idea of it but the hardware always seems to lag behind the other flagships. Things have come far enough along to where that may not be an issue anymore, as even slightly old hardware is still plenty fast on AOSP.

I also like the option of running sense or touchwiz if/when i want.

If sprint gets the nexus 4 at I/O ill be very tempted once again

to be completely honest, I hope sprint nor verizon ever get the Nexus again. They flat out ruin the whole concept of it being a Nexus, and esp Sprint. ;)

Hell non-nexus devices get the updates faster than a vzw or sprint nexus.

I agree with you somewhat. I
El goog punished them with the nexus 4. Sprint was slightly better about it, but i think theyre still stuck on 4.2.1 with gnex

Either way, root solves it :p

Sprints gotten their stuff together with the s3 updates. Very fast. I have hope itll carry over ;)

In the end, google wants to spead nexus. Sprint and big red make up a huge chunk of the US android users. They cant keep them out forever

I had a Nexus S, then went to a Galaxy S2. I thought I was upgrading based on hardware specs. Never again!

Google welcomes development, and that shows in the Nexus line. Nothing is ever locked and it is very difficult to brick one. The same can not be said about Samsung or HTC (those are the ones I've used). Plus, the crap OEMs add is just that, crap. Touchwiz, Sense, etc never add anything good and there is no way to get rid of it without a custom ROM because of how it is intertwined so deeply in the OS.

Plus there is timely updates and price on the side of Nexus phones.

I'd rather support Google directly than the likes of Samsung for one.

I dislike the popular custom UIs (Sense, Touchwiz, Motoblur)

I enjoy heavily modding my devices. I run custom kernels, custom ROMs, etc.. No non-nexus device has anywhere near the dev community that the Nexus series has. The latest and greatest software is made for the Nexus and then later ported to other devices (if they're lucky).

Have to love the timely updates and guaranteed 2 year support from Google.
