What Brand will make the next nexus?

So seeing that google announced the gs4 to have nexus experience do u guys think this is the google flagship for this year?

Hell to the naw.

It's not a "Nexus". It's a vanilla SGS4 from Google.

LG N5 will come at the end of the year. :D

I think that since the first Nexus 4 is such a hit that Google will take on LG again. Then again, every company is going to be showing Google their newer and better versions of the new Nexus phone so who knows it could be anyone.

The LG Nexus 5 with 5.2 inch screen, 3GB's of RAM, 3,300mah battery, etc is an awesome rumor and could possibly be true and come out this year in November but no one knows for sure yet. I don't think Google is even 100% sure yet :p. It sure would be an amazing phone though! :D

If the AOSP HTC One rumors are true, I'm interested in that. I'd be surprised if it is only the GS4 as this is not a Nexus device.

Also haven't forgotten about the X Phone which seems to be passing through FCC at this time. If Motorola have given it a premium look and feel this could be the next purchase.

Ideally this is the future.

Every flagship should have this option, and eventually we will get the option to choose what to run when we first sign into our phones.

Pies in the skies;)

Thought the whole X phone thing was scrapped all together?

Granted it could change but LG's CEO already announced they would be taking on the next Nexus again.

I doubt it would be 5.2" screen, I can see an even 5" though. I doubt they want the Nexus to enter into the "phablet" realm.

I do see 3GB of Ram though with at least a 3000MaH battery.

I could also imagine it breaking the 2Ghz mark for the CPU.

Google announced the SGS4 Nexus and it's rumored that the HTC One will also have a Nexus version. I believe this is Google's answer to Android fragmentation. Work with manufacturers to deliver the Nexus experience on their yearly flagships. If Google pushes a new version of Android and the Nexus version gets the update right away it shouldn't take nearly as long for 3rd party manufactures to update their non-nexus devices.

I hope you're right. It'd be nice to have everybody in on the action with fast updates.

Another question for u guys what keeps u guys staying with nexus even after new phones come out like gs4 htc one galaxy s4 galaxy note 2 galaxy note 3 in a few months etc... what makes a nexus device special than samsungs software? let me know ur guys opinions ;)

I won't consider a Note, I already have a tablet and want a phone that goes in my pocket, not a backpack.

The software is the main reason. Not just Touchwiz, Sense, etc, but the ease of flashing a ROM. On a Samsung or HTC phone for example you actually have to worry about making a little mistake and bricking your phone. No need to worry about that on a Nexus. Easy to unlock and near impossible to brick.

There is also price. Why would I pay double for a phone when I can get a better one for half the price?

I'm tempted by the HTC One because I like the hardware. Samsung for me lack style and I hate the "kitchen sink" approach with the software.

Vanilla Android always wins for me until I become a little bored.

Hahaha. That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen a company executive say. Sounds like someone is butt hurt cause the damn ceo himself said they were making it. Lol. Wtf is going on.

Time to turn to my insider for some knowledge.

One more read for good measure :D

LG Announces The White Nexus 4, Quashes All Rumors That The Company Is Working On The Nexus 5

"Nexus 4 was a great success despite the production problems for us and Google. However we do not need such a marketing success again"

What is this guy thinking?
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

While the Nexus 4 was a great phone, the supply issues did nothing but draw negative attention to LG. I kind of hope LG doesn't make the next one. I'd really like to see HTC, Sony, or Asus make the next nexus phone. Motorola would be nice as well, but I'm not counting on them. As much as I would like to see HTC make one, I highly doubt it too based on their company's commitment to the Sense skin. Sony or Asus would be interesting though.

I like what HTC has done but it just doesn't sit well with me that every phone that sells, Apple gets 7% off of it. Stupid I know but I don't want any portion of my money going to them and their financing of legal battles with the world.

Plus while I really liked the One, it seems that a substantial amount are being returned with issues. Makes me weary.

I damn sure don't want Samsung's cheesy fingers on it. Motorola is dead in my eyes but if they did make a nexus, and it was appealing, I would give it a go only because I'm a nexus man.

Sony. Asus. Interesting indeed. I wouldn't mind seeing an Asus Nexus.

Yeah, there is that point about Apple that I had forgotten. I as well don't want another Samsung Nexus. I like their AMOLED screens, but everything else about them just seems subpar. I really like the idea of an Asus nexus phone, since I love the Asus Nexus 7. I haven't had a chance to really play with an Asus phone because no american carrier will support it, and all the padfones so far have been made with radios that don't support the 850, 1700/2100, or 1900 HSPA or 700, 1700/2100 LTE; thus making them pretty neutered here in the US. I'm not willing to pay 800-1000 dollars to import in order to play with a phone that will only get EDGE.

I'd terrible problems with my original Asus TF101, was adamant I'd never get an Asus again, wilted and got the N7 :o.

Delighted with it so I'd def be interested to see what they could do with a Nexus Phone.

I have both the Nexus 7 and the TF700, and love them both. Granted there aren't many people who have Padfones on these forums, but I don't see many if any complaints from those that do have them other than entry price and radio compatibility. But these would be fixed with making it a Nexus.

I'd like to see another HTC nexus. They're build quality is stellar, and I prefer the screen and camera they have on my evo 4g lte versus the s3.

I was under the impression the apple patents were based on a percentage of what each phone was worth, not a set $ amount per phone.

If that's the case, nexus contributions would be fairly low given their sales and msrp

Apples gonna try and get their money way way or another. At least HTC can focus on making phones and not battling in courtrooms now

I remember seeing it right after the Apple HTC battle ended in an article.

This could have changed or I could have read it wrong. The latter is quite possible. Lol

I guess so. There always was a chance that they wouldn't I suppose. We'll just have to wait and see if there is some translation error or if all of this is a red Herring. For sure if he said that they don't need that sort of marketing success again - that's pretty stupid, especially for a group which is way behind Samsung at this moment in time.

Who knows who will make the next Nexus, although I would have thought it should already be in the pipeline and with LG saying they are not currently working on the N5 this leaves someone else. Also, Google will have to tap into Motorola at some point...
