What changes do YOU see with Froyo 2.2?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but wow, it boots up a LOT quicker! The only downside to 2.2 for me so far, and it's a big'un, is that something is chewing up my battery pretty fiercely without me even using the phone. Pulled the battery, set Talk to not login, and tweaked a couple of sync settings, so we'll see if it helps.

Yeah, something is constantly auto-syncing or something. I left my phone off the charger last night, and my battery went from 89% to 52% in six hours.

Yeah. Personally, I keep auto sync off as well as 3G. Its already a battery drainer. If I ever wanna check my email or update my google reader I just turn them back on, check it, turn them back off.

And if i'm every in a wireless network area, I completely disable my 3G and just use the wireless. Less of a battery drainer.

You can definitely get a lot more battery time doing this.

Some things didn't work for a couple of hours on mine either... strange. When the camera did start working I noticed the quality is MUCH better. No grainy bs, and it loads the highres pics more often depending on what you are doing

Boobs for camera quality test.

Boobs check good! Yours? lol

Here's another item i found.

The small HTC calendar widget now changes the date on it instead of being stuck with the date you put the widget on the screen.

For those of you having battery issues im willing to bet its the fact that your phone isnt sleeping. Check your uptime/awake time and see if its either the same or close. I had that issue and couldnt figure out why the battery was dyin so fast but after a hard reset this morning mine is finally back to normal.

Are you using Y5 Battery Saver for that? I know some people say it's flakey, but most of the time it does the right thing, and the battery savings are worth the occasional "crap, it left WiFi on!"

Not trying to hi jack this thread but did everyone get the froyo update via through their phone or through the htc website?

For all you yahoo fantasy baseball freaks such as my self. I am happy to report that with Flash 10.1 stattracker now works to its fullest extent. YAY!

4 hours of battery life after updating rather than an average of 10-13 per charge with 2.1...frustrating

Ive noticed that it switched on gmail syncing and that gtalk service back to being logged in automatically. Also a lot more apps are auto-starting and wont shut off. Not sure if they arent properly registered (I didnt have to reinstall everything, the update didnt even clear out my text messages) so I am considering removing all apps and reinstalling them.

That's weird, i just got a little over 20 hours.

hows your usage? is everything stock? On mine everything is stock..however I do keep google talk logged in and I know that drains battery life but that was the same when i was using 2.1 and getting 10-13 hours avg

I dont know about the apps auto-starting but I never turned off gmail syncing and gtalk service because IMO getting a phone that is supposed to keep you connected to everything you use easier I shouldnt have to turn those off and I was happy with my 10-13 hours avg battery life because unless I had a day where I was on the phone a lot i wouldn't have to charge it until i got home at the end of the day...

anyways kind of went off on a tangent...I will check the apps auto-starting thing..thanks for the tip

PainKillaz, if your battery is dying in 4 hours, you have some process/app that is keeping your phone from sleeping. ( i know I just went through it).
Check your uptime and awake time and I bet they are pretty much the same.
