What's for dinner ?

Not this weekend we don't! When she's good, she's good... but when she's bad, she's better! This weekend we're boarding the dog and headed to a cozy cabin. And no behaving! She's off the leash for four days (unless she wants to be on it)

😍
It's not the 50 shades of gray cabin in Lobelville, TN by chance 🤣 it's not too far of a drive for you.

I fixed a stovetop version of cavatini. It was a quick and easy dish the family liked that we haven't had since the kids migrated. It really didn't do that much for me or the wife. It was like something was missing. It was too much for one meal and not enough for two so it was wasteful. It won't return to the dinner rotation. :)

Tonight is sandwich night. I was hungry for some hotdogs but they simply aren't on my diet. It's also difficult to find any sort of luncheon meats that aren't loaded in sodium. The chicken and turkey is the healthiest but I'm smoking turkey breast this weekend. I settled for chopped ham and cotto salami. Each weigh in at 250mg of sodium per slice.

That's about two hours from me and NO... we're not going to that cabin. I never know when she's secretly mad enough with me to put me in those stocks and leave me there...

BACK TO DINNER (as in food), I've cooked the last two nights; Darling Bride had a painful procedure today. so it's time for our local pizzeria to rock our world with a HUGE pie packed with fresh, imported ingredients. And it tastes even better than it looks!

Jambalaya is some great eating. I spent most of a day years ago helping a guy seine crawdads in every low water mud hole close. He cleaned our efforts and turn those inland shrimp into the best jambalaya I've ever eaten. We had a big cajun dinner between four couples that shared a lease on an old sandpit.

@The_Chief .....Bucatini made at home from 00 Italian and Semola flour; the Darling Bride's homemade marinara sauce; toasted rosemary and olive oil garlic Parmesan bread and white zin....

When were you awarded your first Michelin Star?

It will be nice outside this afternoon so I'm cooking on the Blackstone. I'll either fix sandwiches or a stir fry. Sandwich options are bacon, egg, and cheese, or just grilled cheese. Stir fry will be a shrimp stir fry.

Tonight we have no idea, could be couscous with green beans again with a special meat that my mother can throw in, last evening was just with Chicken Kiev though, I had too much pizza since last Sun, throughout I think it was the other day, was it a few meals before or after hand, maybe it was yesterday for breakfast had the final slice of our left over pizza for my breakfast though..

the best sandwich they have. and you got to have it MIke's Way!!!!!!

the last time i was there, a customer waiting in line to order was telling me that he traveled to Italy last summer and had quite a few italian subs. he said that they do not compare to the #13 at Jersey Mike's especially if you get it Mike's Way. that's pretty high praise for the sandwich.
