ok weird. it just started to come down really hard with some wind....and then it died down. it went on for about a minute. now it is just a list sprinkle.

My grass is begging for rain like that ....
It's a bit cooler so far today but it's difficult to appreciate the the drop in temperature. It is way humid today. When I came in from mowing it was only 95° but the humidity was almost 60%. It was much like working in a sauna today.

I haven't any problem believing the news article. I just came in from trying to do some trouble shooting on a mower parked beside my house. I wasn't physically exerting myself running a multimeter but I was sweating so badly that I couldn't see and the the meter display turned black with nothing to read. The trouble shooting will have to wait for a cooler day.
Our former tax deduction son is in the Austin, Texas area... they have been in triple-digit heat for weeks, with humidity as low as 15-20%. No relief in sight yet, either. This is his forecast through Labor Day weekend:

The hotter it gets the air is less dense

Everyday this week the heat index has been at least 113. Just brutal.

I am a bit South of Houston, they tied their highest all time high, yesterday ... 109° !
So it's currently 9:52 AM and the heat index is already at 106. This global warming 💩 is real yo.
It got hot here today as well. There was a South wind that made it seem much cooler than the last seven days where there was zero wind. Cooler weather in the forecast for the next few days. High eighties sounds so much cooler that the recent 100+ temps.
There is even a slight chance of rain forecasted for Sunday. We sure need the moisture.

Today is cloudy but I reallu like it
Watching the news early this morning and once again they have reporters standing out in flooded streets and strong wind gust in Florida. Then the news host at the station says, "Stay safe out there".
If I was a reporter I would say, "Screw you, I'm not going out in that".

My son had a lot of wind and rain in Tallahassee, they only lost power for about 30 minutes this morning. No damage in their area, phew.
Stay safe! Fuel and TP... Two things never to be short on.

Looks like it has passed us now and moved into SC. Had about a 10 min pwr outage and frequent brownouts for about 2 hrs after, but stable now. I'm about 1/2mi from the saltwater inlet at Thunderbolt and we were largely spared. The inland area of Savannah and Pooler got hit hard though. One of the few times being on the coast was an advantage in a big storm!
I called my sister in NC to check in and they had a tornado warning complete with sirens while we were talking. She's good but said it got crazy for s second or five. Bizarre weather we're in for now I'm afraid. It's the way of the future.
