What's your favorite MLB team?

Wow another Reds fan. I just hope that we show up. Cueto has been great. Leake has been much better since his return and Wood is due to pitch a good game. They will have to score more than 5 runs in the series.

Yea no doubt. Think it will be an interesting series. I like the pitching matchups. We couldn't score at all against TBJ and that is troublesome

That's b/c you just won the WS. They are pretty much re-establishing the fan base since they can be competitive again.

CC struggles at times just like the rest of the aces in the majors. He's amazing and definitely in the top 10 pitchers in the MLB. We may not have a steller rotation like the Phillies or Giants but we do have a deep lineup that can tear pitching apart for the smallest mistakes. There's a reason why we lead the majors in HRs, most likely BB and OBP too.

Giants have been consistently pulling in a large fan base every season. Might not have been what it is now with mid-day games during the week selling out but we definitely fill the place up every season. We are far from being a KC Royals or Seattle Mariners crowd. I'd say we're right in line with the Wrigley crowd in terms of attendance (pre-WS)

This I know, I wasn't saying you were anywhere in the vicinity of those examples but winning a WS changes everything. I'm sure the crowds were insane during the Bonds era but after he left.. let's face it - SF sucked ass for a short period of time while they were rebuilding.

Surprisingly even after Bonds, we still have very decent crowds out. I'd say 60-70% full - I was at many of those games. Bay Area has always had a fairly strong market and fan base so we're lucky (as are you guys in NY just due to the sheer population density and corporate money). When I watch out of town games like the Royals, Indians (pre-bandwagon this season) or Marlins.. I feel bad for them lol. No one watches their games

It's quite pathetic. Even with the Marlins winning the WS in 2003. Still no followers. I just don't understand where the loyalty is at!? As for KC, their stadium is beauuuuuuuutiful, man. Got tix for Royals vs Yanks a few seasons ago. Went with 5 friends and we sat in the outfield main level for like 50 bucks a pop.
 
Camden Yard is real nice too yet they don't draw. Same with Nats. Although both those teams do a lot worse than the Marlins.

Just goes to show you where the "real" sports cities are. Take Miami for example.. no support for the Marlins even though they were winning; don't even sell out Miami Heat playoff games and during the Finals, Heat fans were selling off their tix (ironically, mostly to Mav fans). You compare that to SF where Giants fans have been coming out in flocks - win or lose; and Warriors fans have been in the top 10 in attendance almost all the time for a losing team that has only made the playoffs twice in (I believe - guestimate) the past 15 years.

I dunno about all that in reference to my Yanks. When our starters are bad, it's BAAAAAAAAD. I was kind of wishing for at least a little in between this season but AJ has surprised me so far and so has Nova. We'll have to ride the hot bats until the rotation is healthy again.

I meant 3 Cy Youngs ... not winners, I guess my head just isn't' where it should be right now. I thought AJ did a decent job against the Cubbies the other night, although I understand why Girardi took him out when he did, I tihnk I'd have let him finish the inning (which is also why I'm probably not a major league manager. I can't say much for CC, because every time he takes the mound I flashback to when he was the Brewers ace and Bret Myers beat him up at the plate in the playoffs.

I have to laugh at surrounding cities. We have a branch out it Pittsburgh and when the Phillies play there, it's cheaper for me to drive the 5 hours there and get a motel room for the night, than it is for me to drive the 1 hour to Philly and drive home. And the seats are better for watching the game. Citizens Bank Park is a great venue, though.
 
You guys posting about why teams don't draw fans and there is no loyalty, it is because the teams do nothing to promote loyalty. Fans have to be excited by the team no one will back a loser for long. The ballpark that those teams play in is a very small consideration fans want to see constant improvement and high caliber players. The Yankees are successfull because their owners have always understood and have always been unafraid to reinvest in the team so that the best product can be put on the field. People get tired of losing and if you really take notice it happens very quickly.
 
Well considering the Cards in first, I could careless....for the most part, it'll be Milwaukee and Cards, with you guys in 3rd. Your pitching flat out stinks.
