What's your favorite MLB team?

I'm surprised the Cards made to the series. As I said earlier, they are pretty lucky when it comes to the playoffs/world series.
 
Espn is reporting that Cano got the big contact he was looking for, but with the Seattle Mariners. Can honestly say I didn't see that one coming.

Our mistake was not extending his contact sooner. Our archaic ways of waiting to sign deals cost us the best 2B in baseball. Oh well, what's done is done. I'm not looking forward to the next few seasons of mediocrity.

What are your thoughts on a possible trade for Brandon phillips? (to the Yankees that is) He's only owed 50m for the next 4 years. The possible trade of Brandon has been a hot ticket subject in Cincinnati since season ended. No one really wants to see the best defensive 2nd basemen leave, but the Reds have to do something to help that lineup

In theory, I like it, but I don't like the contract or his offensive deterioration. The fact of the matter is that there is no replacing Cano. He's a one of a kind player, imo. It's rare that you can find a guy that can play gold glove defense and slug like a 1B/DH while staying 100% healthy.

$215,000,000 for 7 years for Kershaw? That averages out to be the Marlins and Astros salary combined or close to for next year @ $30.7 mil per year.

and we are not done!!!!!!! hopefully in the next few weeks we can sign tanaka!!!!!!!

Kershaw is well worth every penny of that contract too. He's been the best pitcher in baseball over the last couple of seasons. Not to mention that the Dodgers haven't abused him either. I was hoping he would hit the FA, but I knew that was extremely unlikely.

Dodgers have been recorded as out of the Tanaka sweepstakes. Supposedly, only ones left are Cubs and Yanks with the Cubs not likely to outbid the Yankees.
 
If Matt Kemp stays healthy, the Dodgers go all the way this year. GO BLUE!!!:)
 
I'm skeptical about these Japanese imported pitchers. Kei Igawa was a total busy, and Matsuzaka broke down after 1 year. We'll have to see what happens to Darvish and how Tanaka converts from Japan.

So far.. Darvish looks like the real deal. I'm curious about what Tanaka can do though. That's a damn long contract to potentially have Igawa 2.0. I just hope he's on par with Darvish.
