Root ZTE ZMAX Pro (Z981) "off topic" root discussion

Can we stop talking about other phones? Yeah it's the "off topic" thread but it's still for the Z981, not for the OnePlusWhateverBlahBlah. The off topic part means non-root talk, not non-Z981 talk. So tired of getting thread notifications only to find yet more non-relevant stuff posted everywhere.

It's kinda helpful. He was saying if you want root NOW as your daily use phone you need to try a different phone. It may well be unlocked or rooted eventually and I maintain hope, but he is right. If you NEED root NOW, then you should try another phone. It's not like we're close and a dev has said hold on he's almost there. I would prefer root, but it looks like it may be quite some ways out. Might have to come to grips with that harsh reality.

What was the point of that? Having to scroll through all those pics. Do you think that people on here, trying to get root, don't know what root would be good for so you show us?

ZMax Pro may very Well be best for the buck, if you don't want root at this time. If you are looking for root, right now, today, the Pro is out of the running. I wish I knew the state of rooting before I bought it myself. My bad. Would very much like the root, I want encryption better than what android provides, but it is what it is at this point.

Just about every company will have the occasional software update glitch. That's why they pulled it and you can't OTA to that right now. I am 100% that they tested their software. Bugs still get into things. Gaining root is often by method of a glitch or bug.

This may be the off topic room, but it's off the ROOT topic, not the device itself. Those videos that take up so much of our screens are for other devices and other root for those devices. So yes off topic on root, but lets keep it to this phone, it still has the model number in the title after all. :)

It will take an "Elite Recognized Developer" or the KingRoot team to circumvent the safeguards ZTE has put in the ZMP.
ZTE ALSO LEARNED from having their Zmax circumvented.. thus no way to overload the memory this time around to get root.. :D People forget the ZTE team takes it Personal ( and hears it from their management ) when their safeguards are circumvented by missing a Backdoor..
Phones without Elite Developer's constantly probing them for vulnerabilities are going to become increasingly harder to gain admin access to..

Unless you go with the Moto or Oneplus lines.. it's a crap shoot to not just obtain Root.. But also TWRP and ROM's.. you need those too.. because after you De-Bloat.. install adaway and use a backup app.. you are right back to being bored with the phone.. that may be enough for some.. but let's face AOSP.. CM.. Resurrecton Remix.. Kernels..Along With Xposed is REALLY where it's at when it comes to root.. The Mixing... The Matching.... The Customization... OH MY!!! :D

No one is going to develop for this phone until long after it's old news.. if even then..

Man I sure hope ZTE responds to their forum and at least give us a straight answer as to why they won't unlock the bootloader.. We own these phones.. and it should be our right to root them if we want to.. I'm sure someone will figure out a way to root... cause.. Golly Gee... I would sure love to have root on this phone.. it would make it so perfect.. has anyone else tried the latest kingroot 5.0.1? Gosh... maybe they've added to Zmax Pro by now! lets all make more request on kingroot as well ok guys?

Not everyone genius.. there's something call a NOOB.. you must be one of them.. but FYI till this day we all still have to teach some people what root even is or can do..
 
My Toshiba satellite laptop is taking a shyte on me. Some Trojan got me. Avast Security has a virus in it too smh. Hence I can't trust using it to try QPST Flashtool

Time for a complete HDD formatting, and then install an OS. I recommend dualbooting Windows & Linux (whichever one interests you, there are several), that way you have both OS's to use at leisure.
 
AVG used to be great for free, now if you install it you'll have it for a couple of weeks as a trial and then it will blow up your desktop with mass amounts of "trial has expired, BUY NOW" popup windows until you manually uninstall it. Nobody does free shit anymore. Probably why CyanogenMod project finally pulled the plug. They certainly can't charge people for open source firmware.

I've tried every free malware/virus remover and they don't work. Whoever writes this new malware makes sure that it throws off most of the freebies. Trust me. $60 for a year of real, reliable malware can't be beat.

Just to convince myself that my money went to something, I'd try downloading some Android shit from 4shared site, which is loaded with horrific amounts of malware. Does a great job of removing them... Can't stress it enough :)

At this point I'm done tinkering. I'll keep up on this forum, waiting for results. Good luck to the people who are trying.
