Root ZV6 V.5 Stock Mod - Debloated - No Gapps

Umless LG gives us 5.x we on stock will probably be stuck on 4.4.2. But I know what can be done on these oroms. Sometimes being on something besides the latest isn't a bad thing. Stick around. This Rom set will progress and get better over time. Im updating all variants to ZV6 today with all flashable stuff incorporated.

On the qremote stuff... I was poking around and found a Devices.bin in with the remote databases. The databases themselves seem to just contain configuration settings. Maybe you can pull the Devices.bin from another version and drop it in there?

Will look at it and see what I can do.

OP updated with fresh deodexed ZV6 roms for stock and xperia made from shapeshifters zv6 deodexed rom.

ZV6 version 1 was buttery smooth! I'm going to update to version 2 today. I didn't see it anywhere, but are you planning on using any custom kernel? Uno seemed like a great OC kernel. But stock works pretty great anyway.

Trying out a few status bar colors etc for the rom set. Not a bad color...not sold on it yet though...

I stripped the stock debloated no Gapps rom out, there were residual Google crap. I replaced some apps out, using the Xperia home and keyboard. Placed Viper in /sysytem/app, changed out gallery app for Gallery 3d by Leopold v7, changed file manager for Totalcommander, added a few apps, swapped Textra and Lightning browser in (see problems below). Replaced boot.img with UnoV (added the needed module files), replaced recovery with TWRP, edited build.prop with boat load of tweaks, replaced bootanimation.zip with Marshmallow. Got other useless files deleted. Repacked the zip and the size is 622MB.

Problems: Textra wont work unless set as user app and also same for Lightning browser. Gonna figure how to get them as system apps.

Good news: Viper works as intended, no more failed driver installs.

Its shows not processing because I wasnt listening to anything.

Good news: The UnoV kernel works great, you just have to use an app to tune to how you use your device. Im liking it a lot over stock. Here are 2 simple benchmark tests.

Move the two apps giving you trouble to the apps bootup folder in your custom rom. Then install. Should be ok. Not truly a system app but you can include it in your private build without having to install it every time you want to reflash.

Forgot to mention when uploading. New qslide open windows at once is now set to four instead of two. Need to add that in OP. Will look to do more trimming down of rom size next go around. I am aware of some of the residual stuff left behind. Actually forgot to dig that stuff out. The more crap out the more we can have in and still come out better than original stock.

:pI edited mine to 6.

Will try bootup folder.

I did install before I edited the rom, works really nice. I dirty flashed and all user app settings stuck. I installed Uno kernel and Viper as well, they both worked fine with your latest upload.

I had originally thought to add dsp manager with apollo...but for one apollo sucks...and two dsp manager is ok but it occurred to me it might cause issues trying to use viper so i just went basic stock so there would be no conflicts with user preferred music setups. I think bro we have the early beginnings of a nice stock mod option. A lot more to do. Up next is some icon themeing in status bar along with custom bar colors. Playing around with that stuff now.

Since you mentioned further trimming, I recently posted a list of what I currently have as stock apps on my phone in the debloating thread, here:
http://androidforums.com/index.php?posts/7119374
(I added the split view mod after posting this, so that's in there too)

This is a reduction from what you left in, so I thought it might help you trim down some more.
I've swapped out some of your stuff, so adjust as needed, of course. :)

I am getting a random Google Play Services crash, but it comes and goes with no real pattern and doesn't affect anything, so I'm not sure if it's something I removed or some bug in the recent updates.

Hope you don't mind me popping in with random bits of randomness. If I'm not being helpful, just tell me to shut the hell up. :p

I ended up installing Lucky Patcher modded PlayStore, crashes went away. No idea what's causing why it crashes. Worked fine until Google updates.

@Curtis1973
My issue with Textra, got fixed after reinstalling stock MMS then setting Textra to default, so thats working. Setting it in the bootup folder just made it difficult to remove once rom was reflashed. Lightning browser for some reason doesnt want to play nice, so went back to stock browser for now until I find suitable replacement.
Ive got it running really SMOOTH now.

I installed everything on my nieces volt and play services was fine until it updated itself. Then random force closes. Not sure whats behind it. But I do know if you uninstall the update the original doesn't crash like that. I think its a google bug.

OK, so it's not just me. :p

No not only you. It starts as soon as the play services update applies. Need to locate a good up to date gapps package and replace the whole set. Google will leave that busted one in place for who knows how long. But for now Im just going to leave it as is until I finish other stuff.

There's a fake Play Services app that someone posted on XDA, which supposedly makes it so that apps will run without Play Services. You had to install a second app (an Xposed Module) to go with it, but it seemed like a neat idea. I meant to try it out but I never got around to it. Just an idea though :)

You're probably referring to the Lucky Patcher version mentioned a few posts back? Problem with that is it opens the door for piracy on a major scale so I don't know if Curtis will want to include that...
