Delete post

I moved this to the suggestion box as it isn't android related. :) Yep, as mentioned, if you want a post deleted just hit the report button. So long as it won't break the conversation to terribly we'll oblige. :) Most times it isn't a problem. :) At the bottom of the post you want deleted you should see the link below:

Just tap the "Report" and let us know you want it deleted and we'll take care of it. If not, we'll let you know why.

Help Facebook Push Notifications Not Working

My first thought is that if something stops on 2 separate devices then far from being "blah, blah" checking the account settings is the obvious place to start: account settings will be common to all devices using the same account (unlike app settings, which apply to the app on a particular device). Your post doesn't make clear whether you have actually done this or not, but uninstalling and reinstalling would do nothing if this is where the problem lies.

To be honest I'd check the app settings and device settings anyway: check that notifications are enabled in the app and check that the system isn't blocking notifications from the app (the two different ways notifications could get turned off). Sure it would be odd for these things to change on both devices, but it's better to spend a minute ruling these things out rather than waste more time because you assume it can't happen (as an example, if you could imagine something happening as a result of an app update then that update would be applied to both devices).

If it's not an account setting or a weird change on both devices I'm afraid the obvious answer is indeed a problem with your Facebook account (or a bug in the FB app that only manifests on a few people's devices). But let's hope not, because I don't have much confidence in them fixing things quickly.

Bummer boots

I know what you mean. Mine are just about worn out, and I recently caught crap about it. Somebody showed me his boot that he's had for maybe a year and that it's still mostly ok. He actually seems to think his Carhartt boots are inferior to my Brahmas. Still, since I paid nothing for them, I guess I shouldn't complain...

Voicemail issue

Sure would be nice if everyone's settings menu was the same... Wouldn't that be awesome?

As to the OP's question I'd be willing to guess that the VM app is installed by Verizon.. Long press the icon until the pop-up appears that says App info, tap it and then the notification settings. Check or uncheck the various option to get your desired results.

Help Image Dimensions Information App with Overlay?

Frost is on F-Droid, which has an impeccable reputation.

Too bad it is no longer maintained. I will have to keep looking:

"This project is no longer actively maintained. I still use it, but I've largely been off of Facebook for years. Bugs relating to logins are region dependent, and web wrappers don't have stable APIs, so please use at your own discretion."

radeon 7990 on XP... why so dang hard?

I recently picked up a 2nd gen Apple TV for $24 at the MegaReplay store. I hated the newer models enforcing updates and once out of support the apps just break and force you to buy a new one.

Meanwhile, that 2010 'vintage' Apple TV still works. Every app works. Netflix, iTunes purchases, movies, etc works. No updates. Apple was a different company back when Steve Jobs ran it. Tim is all about consumerism and disposability which I hate.

I personally HATE flat UI design. So part of why I bought that thing was to enjoy that glossy skeuomorphic UI it had. I expected a lot of things to not work since it's so old but I was outright amazed that every app works.

Lately every bit of tech I own and use is some variation of the 2009-14 era. I prefer that design and software. It helps that those were good years for me. Especially 2010. Seems tech was at its peak then. My phone runs Android 2.3

Best backup app?

I used to use TB but, as has been said, it's seems to be no longer supported. I swapped to Swift Backup ... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.swiftapps.swiftbackup&gl=US ... and all is fine with the backup world once more ..... :)
nice.....gonna have to try this.

@groston i would still look into getting a custom recovery since you are rooted. having twrp installed is a very useful tool and every rooted phone user should have one. it should have been your next step after rooting the phone. having a nandroid backup is very important. a nandroid backup is a complete backup of your phone. if you mess up or something goes wrong, as long as you can get to your recovery(twrp) and have a nandroid backup, you can flash your recovery and it will like being back before anything happened. it is kind of like a save point in a game. if you mess up in your game, you can just go back to where you last saved the game.

so even if swift backup as suggested by @dvhttn , i would still get twrp setup and make a nandroid backup asap.

Acetel 50DL need free vnc that doesn't crash

Okay so I have an update fam

Is there an easy way to control multiple android devices from the PC when connected via USB? I would need the devices to connect to 4g for their data but be controlled via PC USB for their control.

In this scenario we could simply remote control the PC itself via Chrome remote desktop and then our assistance could control the phones from that remote desktop. This way phones are directly connected and controlled via PC use.

Wifi

Every day, I wonder how my 6 Pro will disappoint me today. I'm done with the Google line of phones. Sad as I've owned every Pixel since the first one. No excuses from Google, it's their SOC and software. I'm tired of switching Airplane mode on and off to get a cell or WiFi connection. It's a daily occurrence.
