Forgot fixed dialing pin phone asking for puk2 pin

I once needed the code, my carrier were able to give it to me immediately. Guess some carriers are more competent than others ;).

I'd think that just telling them that the phone is asking for it would be enough information.

You would hope.
Of course, 'help' from my carrier was coming from the other side of the planet, and was not very helpful, to say the least.

LG vortex market not working

If the browser on the device will get online, just goto an app store that way.

Older devices are hard pressed to work with modern apps, so the browser method will give better results.

With a device that old, you will want to keep the size and number of apps at minimum.

It would help if you could say exactly what type of app you want to install.

I have an old Gingerbread device that I stream music with occasionally.

g6 no service problem

Since the last 2 android system updates (version 9) I have had an issue with my phone staying locked in a "no service" condition. The signal at my house is on the weak side, around -117db, which means in my basement there is virtually no signal at all. I often use the phone as an mp3 player while working in the basement, but since the updates mentioned when I get back to where I should be getting a signal the phone displays "no service" and stays in that condition until I completely reboot it -- then it is fine again until the next time.

Anyone else having a problem like this, or any suggestions to solve it?

I don't know what phone you've got of course, but possibly check the carrier selection settings, is it on AUTO or MANUAL?

Do not dumb here. Not a dumb area.

Like @ocnbrze , I mainly use my phone but @puppykickr makes a good point, finding a flashlight that work when you need it is virtually a miracle. :)
Although headband flashlights look really goofy, they work well while providing direct illustration where you need it. They also free up your hands to get the job done.

My ollady gave me one that clips to the visor of a ballcap.

As I have very long hair, I wear a ballcap anytime I work on anything, with my hair all up inside it.

The light uses LED bulbs, and button batteries.
It does work, but it makes the visor heavy, and then the hat doesnt want to stay put.

I also wear glasses, so the hat visor wants to lay on top of my glasses.
Not only does this make my glasses very uncomfortable, it makes them fog up in the cold. The visor also gets so low that it obstructs my vision.

I am entirely better off waiting for daylight if outdoors, or running an extention cord and a 'trouble light' to wherever I am.

Or just doing what I almost always do- pull out my phone.

Alexa getting creepy

to each their own. i really like my google nest mini. i just saw a news article here in AF about a smart fan that is google assistant ready.....i'm thinking about getting one.

Yup, that's the beauty of our world (as it stands for for now).

I'm the guy that tapes over the camera when opening a new computer and reformats it on first boot-up. I didn't get to 67 years by being careless with the intrusiveness of our modern society...

Beginner - Emulator Doesn't Install Problem

Hello Folks:

I've spent many years writing many lines of C++ code for Windows. It's time to try Android apps.

Last night I installed Android Studio 4.0 and started the following tutorial by Caleb Curry:

It looks like a good tutorial, but I'm open to suggestions.

After several hours I'm wondering if my system is compatible with the Android Emulator Hypervisor Driver for AMD.

I've never run a virtual machine, so I'm probably doing something dumb.

My system's two years old with an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor. It's a low ball system purchased in early 2018 after my very nice laptop died, when prices for everything were through the roof.

The answer might be there, with the Ryzen 5 processor.

Someone responded to a question in Reddit that they're running 6 virtual machines on their AMD 1600:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/c9k4d7/virtual_machine_in_ryzen/

I'll go into more detail in case the processor's not the problem.

This site says I have to turn off three Windows features:

https://androidstudio.googleblog.com/2019/10/android-emulator-hypervisor-driver-for.html

Those features weren't turned on in my system:

The Component Installer started off all right:

And then:

This is what my BIOS screen looks like. See anything I need to do, or look at?

Suggestions?

Educational game: Multiplication tables

I do have one point to raise about your Multiplication Tables app, in your Privacy Policy you state "Our products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older."
https://sites.google.com/view/simoabdou/privacy-policy

From my experience as a school teacher, people who are at least 13 years or older are usually on more advanced maths than learning their multiplication tables. This subject would be taught at elementary/primary school levels, i.e. children under 11, but they can't use your app?

Maybe make an app that teaches algebra, trigonometry, or Pythagoras theorem would be more appropriate for your intended audience?
