Got it. If you can see your contacts at contacts.google.com, then they’re still saved in your Google account — you just need to get them syncing properly back to your Pixel 6.
Here’s how you can fix it step by step:
1. Make sure Google Contacts sync is turned on
On your Pixel 6, open Settings.
Go to Passwords & accounts (sometimes just “Accounts”).
Tap your Google account (the same one you use on contacts.google.com).
Select Account sync.
Make sure Contacts is switched ON. If it already is, toggle it off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) and hit Sync now.
2. Clear Contacts storage and resync
If step 1 doesn’t refresh them:
Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps.
Find and tap Contacts.
Tap Storage & cache > Clear storage (don’t worry, this just clears the local database, not your Google account).
Restart your phone.
Force a Sync now again (as in Step 1).
3. Restore deleted contacts (if you actually deleted them)
Google keeps backups of deleted contacts for 30 days:
On your PC, go to Google Contacts.
Click the Settings gear ⚙️ > Undo changes.
Choose a time (e.g., “10 minutes ago,” “1 week ago,” or a custom date within 30 days).
Click Undo.
After this, sync again on your phone.
4. Import them manually (if sync still won’t work)
Since you can see them on your PC, you can export and re-import:
On contacts.google.com, click the Export option (left menu).
Choose Google CSV format.
On your Pixel 6, go to Contacts app > Fix & manage > Import from file.
Select the CSV file you exported.
This will bring them directly into your phone’s local contacts.

My machine is hard wired and the tv is streamed. I can have mesh but really do not need it as the only device is the tv box.

I have not bothered to check the wireless speed to the tv, as long as it works I am good.

Sadly it's now being reported that not only has the team been laid-off but Kevin has left, and also been instructed to stop working on open-sourcing Nova (it was apparently part of the original purchase deal that it would be open-sourced if he left, but it sounds like that agreement was worthless in practice).

So right now it's working fine, and I have no immediate plans to switch. But presumably it's only a matter of time until some Android update will break features and eventually the whole app. Of course that may be many years from now: I have apps that haven't been updated for 10-15 years that still work, but they are much simpler and will have many fewer dependencies than Nova, so I'm not expecting it will last that long.

have her go into a store. if they do not have it, they should be able to order her one. if they can't order it, then just have her ask for a full refund. i worked in retail management for almost 10 years so i know how returns work for these brick and mortar stores.

My pc is compadible with it throughout my NVDIDA adaptor, too bad I do not have the money hahaa.

That is all I did, doubled check it with the clock screen saver and works..

Should have been more clear.
I used the One UI 8 phone settings/modes and routines.
Created two routines for on and off.
Turned off intelligent wifi setting for "turn on wifi on/off Automatically" setting so I have full controll of what is added for wifi spots. I have to add them manually.

Bed, Bath & Beyond won’t open stores in California. Here’s why​

Bed, Bath & Beyond is opening stores again after filing for bankruptcy and closing all its stores in 2023, but there will not be any in California.

On Wednesday, Bed, Bath & Beyond’s executive chairman, Marcus Lemonis, explained why the company has decided not to open stores in the state.

“California has created one of the most overregulated, expensive, and risky environments for businesses in America,” he said in a statement.

Lemonis claims that the state’s “higher taxes, higher fees, higher wages” are unsustainable for many businesses.

“We’re taking a stand because it’s time for common sense. Businesses deserve the chance to succeed. Employees deserve jobs that last. And customers deserve fair prices. California’s system delivers the opposite,” he said.

California will still be able to shop at Bed, Bath & Beyond, but only online.

Lemonis said the company is investing in a “California strategy,” which will include same-day delivery, as well as 24- or 48-hour delivery.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s Press Office said in a post on X that they “wish them well in their efforts to become relevant again.”

Bed, Bath & Beyond reopened its first store in Tennessee on Aug. 8.

I checked with Moto G support, and went with their "Software" fix. It checks your hardware, removes all installed apps, applies any android updates, and then re-installs all the apps. It took a while, but it gave me back almost everything I had as I had installed and arranged it, including nested icons on my home pages. Brilliant, because it eliminated all the stuff about dialling shutting the phone down.

The only apps it didn't re-install was a voip utility for sms from voip.ms . Voip.ms' s new free softphone app is a bug-free version of Groundwire, which I have used for years, which II swapped for VOIP.MS's free softphone. All my dialing problems have gone away, except one: I still need to enable speakerphone to hear and be heard, but the cellphone now stays on.
