How to prevent phone from accidentally muting notifications?

I actually have Do Not Disturb mode permanently on, to stop mystery background apps from randomly making my phone beep when I'm trying to sleep. But I have an exception set to permit the ringtone when I'm called. So, the problem is not Do Not Disturb mode coming on, since it's always on.

The volume keys on my phone unfortunately do work when the screen is locked.
Maybe it is an otterbox around your device?
I keep on poping out my cell always to plug it in, so it is nice and loose, but it is also tight.

Can't toggle between radio apps on Android 15

Thanks for your input. There are two or three radio apps I use, and only one radio app plays the stations I listen to, so I have to use two or three different apps. It's just weird that they took away the ability to view all the apps and switch between them. I will contact Samsung and follow up with them. Just another frustrating thing that happens when new versions come out!

Android limiting CPU all of a sudden

Looks like the Motorola G31 has this locked.

Me: What are the cpu clock speeds for the Motorola G31
AI: The Motorola G31 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The CPU configuration for this processor includes:
  • Two Cortex-A75 cores: These cores are clocked at up to 2.0 GHz.
  • Six Cortex-A55 cores: These cores are clocked at up to 1.8 GHz.
So I ran CPU Throttling Test - Apps on Google Play because the one in your link no longer exists, and it showed it running 50% of this speed, slowing from full to half in the first minute.

ME: How do i stop a phone throttling the cpu when I do heavy work on it?
AI: Enable Performance Mode: Some phones have a performance mode that optimizes CPU and GPU performance. Check your phone's settings under Battery or Performance to see if this option is available.
ME: I can't find how to enable performance mode
AI: On the Motorola G31, there isn't a specific "Performance Mode" feature like you might find on some other smartphones.

Well that's that then. Misadvertising in the extreme. Like a 140mph car which can only do so for one minute, and will only do 70mph continuously. Pity, because Motorola is the least annoying company I've come across so far.

So why is it throttling when it's not overheating?

Screenshot being added to voice search from long press home button

I want a long press of the home button to work as it use to. you long press, search box comes up, type texts or do a voice search and it searches for that. I do not want it to include a screenshot.

my wife, son and 2 friends have the same phone as me, and it does not do it on their devices. This is also happening on my Samsung Galaxy tab 8
Try a different launcher.

hmm, Samsung you say, sorry about the other day, it was a very long hot sunny day.

New app layout on S23 is driving me crazy

Curious, does the launcher allow other changes, like the clock on home page. Just one example but imho Samsung the up[date is truly a step BACKWARDS.......
The home screens and app drawer aren't actually part of the operating system but are provided by an app called a launcher. Each manufacturer includes their own launcher, but Android allows you to install and use a different one instead. So if you install a third party launcher you will have to set up your desktops again on that one (some do have options to import setups from other launchers, but you'll find some work is needed anyway). That said, different launchers give you different capabilities, e.g. Nova allows you to change the size of the "grid" (numbers of icons you can place on the screen), position things more flexibly, put folders in the dock, have multiple docks, etc.

So a third party launcher will allow you to have a different clock on the home page, or no clock at all if you prefer. It may not actually allow you to put the Samsung clock there, since many manufacturers produce widgets that only work on their own launcher. Some of these, such as the HTC sense clock @ocnbrze mentions above, have been copied by third parties so that you can have the same look on a different phone or launcher. Personally I prefer to use third party launchers, widgets and apps, because that way when I change phones or update the OS I don't have to change my setup.
