I backup my contacts and photos separately so not so worried about those.

I installed SMS Backup and performed a backup to Dropbox within minutes. Very user-friendly.

Otherwise I would just like to capture apps, app data, widgets, layout, settings, Wi-Fi / Bluetooth connections etc and backup to Dropbox or a USB connected drive and be able to restore to a new phone. Are these all captured via the following backup mechanism?

Settings-> Accounts and backup - Smart switch -> External storage transfer

It was a fun day here. I had lawns to mow and it rained early this morning which changed my plans. I went over to my son's house and saw all my kids then dashed home and mowed five lawns. Took a quick shower and ran back to the party just in time to eat burgers and dogs. Had a few brewskis and came home. The weather was so nice that I took the bike out for a ride. Nerve been an issue for me. It's just like computers. Download a picture or image and it's in the download folder...... same as android.

Well let's hope that using Smart Switch when you're phone was at least minimally usable will have made at least one full backup on your data, and to an external source, like a computer. If that is the case, you should be able to use the Smart Switch utility on your new phone to restore your previous data.
Keep in mind that except for a few exceptions (i.e. WhatsApp data) that Smart Switch will be able to backup/restore your entire user account. Then it to from an old phone to a new one. Apps like Google Photos only pertain to photo and video content so that would only be part of your all your data.

If you don't have a Smart Switch full backup however, that could be a problem. The other alternative is to do a direct phone-to-phone transfer of your user account but that involves being at least some ability to do things on your old phone. It is a user interactive process, and on both phones.

I didn't respond because I'd never seen anything on my phone called "Recent Photos". But then when I read your thread I wondered whether this might be something to do with the Samsung gallery app (which, despite owning an s21, I don't use at all), and opening that app, pressing the 3 line menu and selecting "Recent" does give me a timeline view of images on my phone. Is this what you are talking about?

(I might add that my Samsung Gallery is also an old version because I don't update Samsung apps that I don't use, so may look different to yours as well).

Personally I doubt very much that "recent photos" is actually a folder. Different gallery apps can show different collections of images, ordered by time, by folder, sorted into photos and videos, or whatever, but when a picture shows in a timeline view or a folder view, or in your Gallery app vs Google Photos, it will be the same file in every case. So if you delete it in one place it will be gone from them all.

What exactly was deleted? It's not clear from your post. You mentioned the clipboard in the title, but it will be different if you cut a piece of text or tried to move a file that way.

I'm not optimistic either way - data recovery in Android is always problematic, so I'd always recommend copying important stuff and then deleting the original afterwards. But more information might help.

Yes, the housing is the same for that model line (8T). But I still think you're better off just fixing that international model. Even if you do have all that work done, you're still going to need to flash the stock ROM on that T-Mobile phone to solve it's carrier-lock issue.

I have done swapping displays of Oneplus 8T between KB2007 & KB2000.

All work perfectly fine except the FINGERPRINT

Fingerprint does not being recognized at all.

Does anybody have an answer to this ?

What I found googling is it needs to be recalibrated through a oneplus official store

Have you rebooted the phone? and then checking the volume?

Funny thing: I received another update for my s21 last night, less than a fortnight after the previous one (and after my phone had had a couple of UI hangups and another spontaneous restart yesterday). touchwiz? thats very old. samsung now uses OneUI. and what do you mean by "control any changes"?

both touchwiz and OneUI are just samsung's launcher that they put on top of the android os to make it look and fell different from other manufacturers. i dislike OneUI so i use the Nova launcher that you can get in the play store.

I looks about right for Canada. Especially as most of the population lives in the south, and often within 100km of the US border. And the population of Canada is about half that of the UK. If you're up in the northern wildernesses of Canada, it's best if you have a satellite phone.

I discovered this!
After trouble shooting everything I can think of resetting the connection via Phonax app, I put my moto to safe mode, I went to the Phonax And clear the cache. It worked wonders - in case if anyone was wondering.
