Who has signal as good as VZW?

I think all those coverage maps are lies. They're all solid colours here depicting the type of network more so than the actual or estimated coverage (red USA for Verizon, blue for AT&T to tell you what a particular phone is meant to run on). I haven't seen estimated coverage maps since 2013.

I still hate that I MUST have data on in order to text anyone though. This started in September, and if I switch off data it just fails to send and no longer receives. It was one of the many benefits of SMS to not need internet (which is rare where I go, data vanishes often, and that's one of many reasons I never bought into the whole 'just use WhatsApp' mantra) but today you NEED a data plan to text, at least, in Kentucky. Yes, even with a flip phone like I'm using now (ZTE Cymbal). I could go a week longer on battery just switching off data but that makes the phone a paperweight.

Not just data either, but LTE data minimum. Something I only get like 1/8 the time (like when I'm at home). At work? either no data and only bars, or 1x/3g and no calls/texts. I've started leaving my phone at home.

Textra ONLY contacts

I use g mail contacts for my textra texting. Has worked beautifully in the past--only NOW--in one of my group contacts it list MANY that do not belong to the group specified. They are NOT listed in my g mail contacts in the specified group ...ONLY Textra. There doesn't seem to be a way to edit this in textra. Any ideas as to how to eliminate added names to my group in textra?

Help Android 13 issue

As more and more features get added to Android, it can be increasingly more involved in configuring it. With something like text messaging notifications in the lock screen, setting that back up again might involve digging pretty deep in to your Settings menu. You need to check the Notifications menu, Lock Screen menu, and perhaps the Settings menu in your chosen text messaging app. And keep in mind it might not be a 'top-level' option in any of those menus. They're also becoming more and more densely packed with more options so there could be a secondary menu in the form of a gear icon, or three vertical dot icon,or three horizontal line icon in the upper or the lower menubar, along with some contextual menus that might not be revealed until you do something like a long-press on an option.
Try opening up your Settings menu and in the upper search bar type in 'lock' or 'notification'. Both are pretty generic so there should be a lot results to scroll through that might be relevant. And don't make assumptions about what you think is directly related, there could be an incidental issue (i.e. the more personal items you opt to reveal in a lock screen, this adds in an unnecessary weak point to your privacy settings.)

Help Locked out of Galaxy S5

After factory default reset, S5 not accepting my Samsung ID and/or Password. I had forgotten my swipe password, and PIN as well. Samsung wants me to bring it to an authorized repair shop where I assume it will cost money which I don't want to spend. Verizon was my carrier. Any ideas? thanks!
1. Verizon can't do it for you

2. Samsung *may* charge something since it's out of warranty, but they may not - probably worth checking into, at least

3. If Samsung can't/won't do it (or if they charge more than you want to pay), a 3rd party professional business can do it. If they're ethical, they shouldn't charge you more than $20, considering the age and value of the device

How to turn on my S9 with broken power button

nope sorry, once the phone is off, its off. there is nothing that you can do other than get the power button fixed.
Well that's definitely not true

I saw some videos and texts which suggest to press and hold Volume down button and to plug the USB cable to PC and phone but it only is charging the phone, I'm not receiving the warning message. Some time a get vibration and red light, nothing else.

Is there any other way to do for example any Windows app or any other trick I can do?!

Thanks in advance
Try holding both Volume buttons, while you plug it in. If that doesn't work, then try Volume Down together with Bixby

JP5 upgrade

Be wary about following the instructions on that particular page, it's one person's hacking efforts (note that XDA Developers did close that thread)

But regarding the OP's query, keep in mind that JP5 tablets are specifically intended to be used within a correctional facility's control and oversight. The installed custom Android OS used in JP tablets is restricted and limited so the tablet itself is by design going to involve a lot of content filtering and apps having limitations to various online services. The thing is, unless JPay releases a typical, common usage version of Android for your JP5 (not going to happen), your options to upgrade this tablet to newer version of the Android OS isn't likely. On top of that, the JP5 tablet is very dated and will have complications using modern day online services anyway -- it's just a software being out of date matter but the hardware is just too old too.

I'll suggest instead of fighting with your JP5 tablet to be fully functional in a current setting that you just start looking into buying a new, more capable phone or tablet. There are a lot of options to choose from now. If budget is a primary factor, an Amazon Fire HD8 tablet is only $90. It's going to be running Amazon's FireOS and include a lot of Amazon branding but as a basic tablet a good value.

ScrollWatch - Movie & TV Streaming Guide

Incredibly convenient application with so many useful features. I can also recommend 999flix for watching movies and TV shows. This site is convenient because all the films are uploaded in 1080p/4k quality here. There is also a selection of films by genre, year of release, and rating. Watch right away, load quickly, without delay. What's more, you can watch movies in any language you want, and you can also open subtitles in 2 languages at the same time. Watching movies on this site is convenient from any device, even from a smartphone. The site is adapted and optimized for mobile phones very, very well.

Unrooting

As @Dannydet posted, you need to flash the appropriate stock Samsung ROM to return your phone back to its original unrooted state.

When you rooted your phone, that was a fundamental change to the installed Android operating system. In order to go back to unrooted, you have to replace that altered, rooted operating system with a stock, clean, unrooted operating system. With Samsung phones, flashing a stock ROM will also install a stock Samsung Recovery.
Be sure to choose a ROM to download that exactly matches your specific model of A30. ROMs are not interchangeable, they are very device specific.
On the download page of the ROM you do select, there are instructions on how to use the Odin utility to do the flashing process. Read them and follow them, don't take shortcuts or make assumptions. It's not necessarily a difficult process but it does require specific steps to be taken in sequence.

Hey man, I really appreciate your response. I will try get it fixed with this your help.

Texting?

OK, i've told them to check their iphones. However, part of my problem is that when i send out a text, it takes three to five minutes before my Galaxy registers that they have received the msg. This is all with the "google messages" app that came on the phone.

RE: mikedt
VLC Media Player?

Thank you. I'd forgotten about Foobar. Used it a number of years ago. Yup, it does the trick!!! Tried the newest VLC and they want payment for it now.

RE: James Watson

Hey James; Thanks for replying. Yeah, tried the latest "version" of VLC. Seems, now, they ask you to buy it. I D/led the free version and it was devoid of many of the features I require. I guess I could try to find a 'retro" version, but not sure if that'd work now that VLC's policies have changed. I was reminded of (TNX mikedt) Foobar 2000 and I've found it to be the player I wanted. Has all the bell and whistles and is still open source.
