Password protect a file (not hide)

Try Zarchiver, which can encrypt files and folders with a password.

Thank you, this looks much better, much closer to what I need. I will test it, even it seems to have some extra steps: to open a file I have to extract it first and after using it, I need to reincript it, or delete it if I used a temporary file to extract.

The Stupid Question Thread

Well mine was more recent, about almost every time I go shopping for food like your story,
I always ask for "Cheese and macoroni" instead the employee looks at me and saids "What cheese do you want?"

I say "Everything I want three layers."

So I pay up and they give me three slices of cheese.. and a noodle.

Frp

I don't really understand how dev options would be relevant: if FRP has been triggered then the phone has been reset, and hence by definition dev options have been turned off (because that's the default state, and hence the state that a reset will return it to).

And I'm afraid that the reason nobody would post a solution here if they had one in the first place (and to be clear, I don't) is that it would tell any phone thief who could use a search engine how to do it, which would be highly irresponsible.

Your best bet is to contact an official service centre, with proof of purchase, and see whether they can do anything. It won't be free, but you may have to view it as a learning experience (the lesson being "make sure I know my account passwords before doing a reset"). Sorry, but that's all I can suggest.

Paired device on android Tv paired but not connected

Try and delete the pairing. Un-pair the devices, and pair them again. As that may fix the connection problem.
Tried that, also tried stopping Bluetooth device driver , clearing chache, re-starting ! still no , luck - I know the Blaupunkt is very particular in which order the pairing / connecting is done - on Samsung I know it happens automatically !!

- Error while starting device discovery (BluetoothPairTv app)

- need to know how to get into Bluetooth device setting( on Samsung phone)

Help Samsung Galaxy A7(2018) stuck at Android Recovery after booting!!

There's only so much you can do to fix a phone that's stuck in a boot loop into its Recovery. You've successfully tried the typical solutions and the problem remains so you can continue trying to fix this yourself on the remote chance something will eventually work out, or you can accept the problem requires a trained technician. Look for a local Samsung retailer and find out if they also have a repair/servicing department.

alrght :)

User Interface

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7, 8.0.0 Oreo.

The Google Play Store shows an "update" entitled, Samsung One UI Home." My current UI is called, "Samsung Experience Home." I understand that the update is the same UI with a different name. I've read the reviews that pertain to Galaxy S7, 8.0.0 Oreo for the new update, and they are all really bad, reporting several problems.

QUESTIONS
1.
Is the update worth downloading?
2. If not, is there a way to remove it from "updates" on the Google Play Store, so that I can just hit the "update all" link, rather than having to go through and select each individual update on other apps, in order to avoid updating Samsung's new UI update?

I've attached is a few screen shots for clarification and understanding.

Thanks,
— Matt
It's an update to change the name of the app for One UI but everything else will remain the same

Charging issues

One last update....contacted Samsung and they told me to take it to an authorized repair center. So I took it to an authorized repair center and they were able to replicate the issue and said they could not repair it. They told me to contact Samsung and go through the warranty process. So I did. And disappointed is putting it mildly. They said I have to mail in the phone to THEIR repair center, that they cannot take the word of the authorized center they sent me to. I'm told it's 5-7 business days before they can make a decision. So, after mailing, that's 2 weeks. Then they'll send me a new one since this cannot be fixed. They do not offer any sort of loaner phone, so I'd be without a phone for 2+ weeks. I use it for work so I cannot be without it for that long.

Very disappointed in their solution, especially for such an expensive phone.

I miss the days when PCs made sounds like these

Now that's funny right there!

Unfortunately, locating an old DMC-12 is like locating unobtainium. They must have all been cash for clunkered...thanks for nothing, Obama.

Oh, FYI, I managed to coax my Galaxy S5 back to life, on one line only BTW (the verizon-based one). So long as you got 4G LTE data available it can text and make/receive calls, but if you drop to 3G, 1x, or worse, bars only, forget that. That has to be RCS. The S5 was the first phone to support VoLTE and RCS via a Verizon app (Messages+). SMS appears dead entirely where I live.

That at least is one-hand friendly, and fits my pocket better, and has more features than any smartphone before or after, including:

1. Fingerprint reader
2. removable battery
3. IP67 water resistance
4. USB-3.0 + Fast Charge
5. IR blaster
6. Notification LED
7. Heart Rate Sensor
8. a UI that (to me at least) doesn't look like crap

The SD card reader is bad/broken and won't read SD cards (they show as corrupt but read fine in other devices--and formatting just sits there indefinitely) but I'll manage for now, since my car has an SD reader in the new stereo I bought for it (straight from 2010--old infotainment style display w/backup camera)
