Galaxy Tab S4 in bootloop - I need to delete something from the storage through ABD

With ADB indicating a 'storage booting' problem; and Odin showing different Failed error messages in the screen caps you posted <ID:0/008> FAIL! (DeviceInfo and the log file posting <OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1); in aggregate three separate and different error messages indicate a problem with your Tab S4 being a more serious hardware issue rather than a software issue.

Low Latency H.264 Decoder

Dear Forum Folks:

I am building an H.264 media player that can decode elementary streams. I have it working ok, but the decoder always buffers up quite a few frames before displaying the first image. This is an IB (no P frames) only elementary stream I am decoding. I have noticed that if there are I frames every 5 frames, the Android player will start to display on the 7th frame. If there are 10 frames between I frames, it will display on the 12th frame and if there is 24 frames between I frames, it will display on the 18th frame. Is there any way around this?

I have read a lot of stuff using Google and there are suggestions, but no real answer. Just seems to be a hanging issue. However the drone guys figured out how to get around this since their player has very low latency so there must be a way to get the Android player to not buffer up so many frames and display on the 1st available I frame. Can you advise how to do this?

Thanks,
Tim

Rubbish battery life

Wipe your data and return this phone if possible. They sold you phone that's over three years old. If it was 'new' and in its original packaging, that means the phone has been left in a storage closet untouched that entire time. Smartphone batteries need to be stored with at least some charge so a phone that's been sitting around completely idle for three years will have a battery that's already lost a lot of its usage life.
Or if you opt to keep it, don't be surprised that the battery isn't able to hold a charge very well. It's already dated and used or not, smartphone batteries age. You can buy an external battery and even though it is inconvenient you'll have mobility again. Or if you're willing to tear down your S10e and have the necessary tools, the iFixit site has a nice, step-by-step guide on replacing the battery for your model:

Map Pixel phone to PC w/drive letter

Thank you both for your quick and concerned responses.

As I noted, I’ve been attempting to create some simple “one click” solution for my technologically challenged sister to automatically download all pictures from her phone to her laptop (particularly new ones not previously copied). What process that seems simple and second nature to and I (i.e., clicking here, and holding this key, and opening this program, and viewing photos, and selecting photos, and moving photos, and. . .) may be a bit too daunting for her.

I was hoping to have some simple routine with a desktop icon that when clicked would proceed with the backup. I was assuming if there was a way to map the phone with a drive letter where I could see all subfolders like a standard file structure, this would be quite easy.

If I understand this correctly, this may have been possible in the past using USB Mass Storage Device protocol. However, apparently for security purposes, USB MSC is no longer supported. Oh well, I tired. Maybe I’ll tackle this again in the future but for now I guess I will let it pass.

Again, thanks for your input – much appreciated,
Steve

Unable to Add Call

I have several other Android phones not purchased from T-Mobile and they all have worked fine. Only difference is that the S22 has Android 12.

But are those other Android phones US or international variants/models, i.e. imports?
I'm thinking this "Add Call" or "Merge Call" functions is proprietary to T-Mobile and is US only, which international variant phones may not support.

It's something I've never seen from carriers either in UK, Ireland, or China. And the nearest thing I know is conference call..

Help Force Front Panel use with Phone Open

That won't work, @ocnbrze but I appreciate the idea. That's great if I use the camera app: but I'm not. I'm using the TelePrompter app, which will automatically open the camera app once I press START. Problem is, if I then go to the front cover preview, the teleprompter is still on the main display!

My only solution has been to use the front panel camera and do everything from there. If I start everything on the front panel and then open the phone, everything naturally moves to the main panel. So I guess I'm stuck using the front panel camera for my videos.

Power Outage Alarm Pro

Hi Phil
I have got the same problem as you had. Did you ever find a solution?
I've gone one worse actually as one of my old phones had a catastrophic demise and I'm trying to transfer the app to a newer phone but now run into the licence check issue. It's still working on the other old phone though. I need 2 because our 2 freezers are on different power supply circuits and when we go away on expeditions we need to cover both so we can message a friend to come in and reset the circuit breaker(s).

[FREE][GAME] Space Math

I've never played math games yet, but they seem to be interesting and will help to improve skills. I started improving them some time ago, and have lessons with a tutor twice a week. I can already see that my skills improved, but so many things I still have to learn. When I need some help with homework I use https://plainmath.net/post-secondary/calculus-and-analysis/multivariable-calculus/multivariable-functions to find a solution. It's a site with different questions and answers, and also, sometimes I post there questions myself and get a solution. Today I'll have some free time and will try to play a math game.
