No Code Network Lock Samsung Galaxy A3 Core/A01

If your Samsung phone is unlocked then you will be able to switch network, and normally retain your current phone number
Honestly, I am not sure what you mean by "retain my current phone number", but what I do know is that, if I can unlock the phone, I won't have any pop-up broadcast from the carrier it's locked to, I won't have a issue with Network coverage in certain areas my company travel's for work, I won't have the occasional "Your device has been locked for purposes of Anti-theft protection" when it fails to read the SIM card from the locked carrier.

I mean this is a pretty durable phone and I kinda like it, it also has nice graphics and a ultra wide screen when watching and streaming content. It's speaker is loud enough for me. The RAM it a bit of a let down, yeah, but hey, it does it's job rather well.

Cannot Cast to TV display

Despite having followed all the proceedures correctly (I think!) I am not able to Cast my display to my newish Toshiba smart TV. I have selected Wireless Display on the TV which shows 'ready to connect', and the phone finds the correct device --- but when asked to connect all that happens is that the page on the TV flickers (showing there is some connection). What more do I need to do to get it to Cast OK?

Help S8 + Android 9 = can't see Display P3 images

I tried the latest Google Photos app, Google chrome, Samsung Internet Browser, and phone's own photo app.
No matter what Display profile I choose, all wide-gamut content is treated as sRGB and won't display correctly.

Tested with the red square at https://www.wide-gamut.com/
I can see the logo using my friend's Galaxy S10, but not with my S8, which should also pass the test.

Is this a known bug? Is there any trick I can try to make this work?
Also, "Use sRGB mode" in Developers options don't seem to work properly for me. Defaults to OFF, which, in theory, should be OK.

Should I try a fresh install?

Help Edit Sharing Recipients

My Note 10 and now my S21 work in the same fashion. I think it must be Sammy's idea of handy.
To access the contact list (if the recipient isn't in the current list) simply tick the app that you intend to share with. It will then bring a box to access all contacts. Start typing the contact name and it will complete the contact for you. Being as I primarily share via text and with only a few recipients, they are usually in the last used list. The suggested list is updated with each new send with the last accessed dropping from the list. I only assume your Z Fold 3 behaves the same.

Screen savers...

Like who did posted that, our window url on here?

I don't remember.
I might have actually found the link here on AF somewhere, come to think of it.

I don't know for sure.

I do remember checking it out for some time, because it really was interesting to look out other people's windows for a change.

Especially if what is outside there is radically different from here.

And the fact that it was a live feed made it even more cool.

Help Image transfer problems

That many pics will take a while, and will most likely have to be done in increments.
(I know this from past experience.)

The bright side is that once it is done, all you have to do is move files on a weekly schedule usually.

Use the Gallery and File Manager apps I suggested to find the files to move, and then share them.

NitroShare will come up as an option.

Do this, as I find the file sorting on NitroShare to be clumsey.

Once you select NitoShare, all devices on the network that have NitroShare active on them will appear.

Choose the desired device, and away it goes.

The speed depends upon your router and your devices.

A progress bar makes monitoring the process easy.

When I do music, about 75-100 songs at a time are about all that my junk can handle.

Small sized pictures (less than 1MB) can be transfered as an entire folder, provided that there are not thousands of pictures in a folder.

My folders are pretty individuallized, so this is not often a problem for me.

Good luck.

Check Battery Cover issue: Solved

The issue came back and no amount of cleaning seemed to help. I found a thread elsewhere which seemed to resolve the issue- Hopefully for good this time.,

This applies to people who have a Samsung wireless charging back cover. If you remove that, there are 5 metal contacts that do not exist in the standard cover. Place a small piece of masking take over the upper 2 contacts nearest the camera, then replace the cover. I confirmed this does not impact the charging function. I also looked for a replacement back cover assuming that was bad and found that there are 3rd party covers which only have the lower 3 contacts, so that gave me additional confidence in this fix.

Using Google Voice for Visual Voicemail But Can't Get Notifications?

No, it just uses whatever tone that's set, no way to set one up for individuals.
I played with it for a bit and you can't even set individual ringtones unless you are forwarding calls to your carrier. If GV is set for data/wifi only for calls it uses the default ringtone, if set to use your carrier it will use individual ringtones. No such workaround for voicemail or text notifications because they can't be broken out on the carrier/phone side settings.
Hope that made sense. Short answer is no though.

edit: caveat - tasker or ifttt or something similar may be able to get you closer but that's above my pay grade for tasker

Do Netflix downloads count when casting?

"Do you mean you use your phone tethering as a wifi connection? I'm not aware you can use a phone as a router,"

Yes I've been using the hotspot on my phone as a wireless modem/router for the several devices (including my pc) in my house for the past 5 years as I have a decent amount of data on my phone plan.

"How do you cast your tablet to your Chromecast, or do you have a cable connection?"

I use 'Smart View' (on the swipedown menu) on my Samsung tablet to select the chromecast and that mirrors the screen of the tablet onto the TV. (whatever happens on the tablet screen happens on the TV, which means unlike casting I can't browse or do anything else with with the tablet whilst the netfilx or youtube etc. video is playing on the tv) .

It still requires the wireless modem/router (my phone) to relay through but does not use any data.

Like you I don't have a smart tv but the 'smart view' function can be used to mirror the screen onto one of those as well, again without requiring internet data/streaming.

Help Android VOIP Desktop Devices

I don't know much about this Google Workspaces of course, but do they have a list of like approved Android VOIP phones, that meets their security requirements? Especially as Android is made by Google.

I used to work in business telecommunications years ago, that's why I know system phones like Avaya and Cisco, but that was really before VOIP was a thing.

I haven't found one and they don't know themselves. This is the problem :-(
