SD won't take apps

I thought this problem was solved years ago. Now it's back, or never left. I was trying to move some to SD, but there's no such option. Please don't tell me I have to download ANOTHER app in order to do that (unless of course it's true).

Not a good idea to run apps from flash storage, and that's the way to think of sd cards, storage, not memory.

Unable to view location history

My kid did not delete the location data. I have mine enabled, and nothing is displayed either. You should not be able to enable location history and then no location history is displayed. Whatever apps are needed for it to work then, should be explained better by google, which has been doing a poor job with user interfaces for many years. Or maybe google is just interested in monetizing your location, which is why it is so obtuse.

Smartlife, cloudedge and aitwit notifications problem

I work for a company where we install video doorbells (not Ring). We have a few models that have a particular problem with a widely used app. By now I'm desperate to find a way to solve this, because it's really affecting our customers experience with the product. This is a problem they are only experiencing on Android devices. I'm hoping someone here has had this problem, or a similar one, and has some insight I haven't thought about before. On Apple the apps work without a glitch.

This problem is not related to a specific phone brand, but it only occurs on recent Android devices. So we see this problem on Samsung (A and S series), Huawei, OPPO, OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc. But only on devices that were released in the last year or so. Older devices do not seem to have this problem, as of yet (or those customers have not yet contacted us).

Expected behavior:
Our video doorbells use either the Aiwit, Smartlife or Cloudedge apps. When someone rings the doorbell, the customer should get a screen as if they are receiving a call. They can either accept that call or decline it. When they accept that call, the app should launch and they should have a video and audio connection, seeing the person who is standing in front of their door.

These are all the manufacturers in China? Suggest you contact them, and see if they can suggest anything. Maybe there's a common problem with them?

Does Android 4.1 run Google Play Store version 6.7.13?

Keep in mind that 6.7.13 version of the Play Store app is a very dated one. (Current version being 26.x.x) So you're likely to experience a lot of limitations when trying to interact with Google's current online Play Store service. Also, version 4.x.x of Android being very dated and no longer supported by Google, there isn't a lot of third-party developer support at this point neither. So finding apps that still work with Jelly Bean are still floating around in the Internet, but you'll probably find it easier to sideload APKs from sources like apkmirror.com than on the Play Store. With the caveat that apps that run just on your mobile device are one thing, apps that have to interact with online services will be more problematic.

alarms no longer showing up in alarm list.

Hello, the alarms work like normal, I get the dismiss/snooze screen when the alarm goes off, and all else is normal, but my alarms no longer show in the list where previous alarms are stored until I delete them.

I go to where the list is supposed to be by telling google to show alarms, and it takes me to where the list should be, so the area they are stored is there, just no alarms listed. All that is there is something stating my alarms will be listed there and a "No alarms"

I have already cleared the clock apps cash, and this is on a galaxy tab S2, android 7. Thanks

Help Is There A Way To Remove The Internal Battery For The Alcatel A30 Fierce?

Well, yeah. You can remove the battery, but the problem is that as far as I know, this model is not compatible with the batteries from other developers. It means that even if you will be somehow able to remove the battery, you have to replace it with the same battery. You can try to see if a company like starlabs.com.sg will be able to help you, because I don’t know so much about it. Maybe it’s possible to manipulate the operational system, but I don’t think that Alcatel is the phone that deserves that much of an attention. Anyway, it’s up to you!

Updating OS on Androids.

Honestly, right this week in the UK I'm seriously considering spending £69 for a new £150 phone, the Redmi 9 from Xiaomi on Mi.com , discounted direct from the manufacturer, 2 year warranty, sealed, latest Android and latest UI version, 2 sims and sd slot. This would be a 5th current phone, I have a Moto E6 Plus (battery removable like @puppykickr) a Nokia and another 2 Xiaomi phones. I never got around to selling 4 of these :p. They have even better phones discounted to a little over £100.

Xiaomi aside, don't get hung up on small capacity removable batteries to spite your face, as it were. I've had Android phones for 10 years and we've all been there.

There are great new budget phones around that are very well built.
I can look over the market later and recommend others.

(I haven't read the last two posts here as I'm out of time).

Help Very slow WiFi download on Samsung Tablet A 10.1

This is an old thread, but I was experiencing the EXACT same issues on my Galaxy Tab A7:
- Galaxy tab can connect to wifi, but...
- Extremely slow wi-fi
- Intermittent inability to load any websites
- All other devices run just fine

Pay no attention to anyone that tells you the problem is interference, that should be discarded as soon as you verify that other devices work well except for the Galaxy Tab.

I found the solution to my situation so I'll leave it here in case someone still reads this.

In my case the problem was caused by the following:
1. I have another Samsung device (could be a Galaxy phone, a note, another tab; as long as it is Android)
2. In that device, I changed the Wi-fi settings from DHCP to a static IP (so the phone always uses the same IP instead of getting new ones from the router every now and then)
3. When I set up my Tab A7 I loaded all my setting from my Samsung phone, INCLUDING the remembered wi-fi passwords and settings

Because the settings were copied from one device to another, both devices ended up with the SAME exact IP, meaning from the router's point of view they were the same device and it didn't know how to differentiate between them.

The solution is easy: just change one of the devices to use DHCP or assign them different static IPs. As soon as I did that my tablet instantly started working perfectly!

NOTE: I've seen some people say that switching from 2.4GHz to 5GHz fixed the problem, I suspect they had the same issue as me and switching the frequency basically achieves the same thing.

ALSO NOTE: If your Tab is already using DHCP or you've verified it has a different IP from all other devices in your network then sadly my solution won't be able to help.
