Get pixel 4 instead of 5 just for telephoto?

[...]I've gotten a TON of use from the "tele" lens on my 4 XL. Google's magical Super Res Zoom does incredible things for digital zoom but it's so much better if it can apply that processing to a 2x optical zoom. In my opinion, at least, even a modest 2x optical zoom is more useful than a wide-angle.
I had a Pixel 5. I returned it. Because of non top Snapdragon( 3d Gaming) and the lack of Zoom camera. I have now Pixel 4 and in any way it is better for me.
Thanks, you guys!
I was concerned about the exact same things.
After reading your posts, I have to conclude an older 4XL is probably the best way to go for me.

Use spectrum phone on Verizon

It was locked by spectrum and I unlocked it.
Not sure why Verizon would feel violated.

you just explained why -- the phone left the factory as a LOCKED phone and that is how its ESN is seen to the carriers. when you walked in with the phone "unlocked", their database shows that phone is supposed to be LOCKED to a carrier. So since it has illegal software (in their eyeas) they are not going to touch it. its quite simple really.

happy you figured out a plan and got the newer device in the end. head over to the S21 forum a learn more about it.

cheers!

Call screen

put your phone in safe mode. safe mode does not allow 3rd party apps from running. if it stops, then you most likely have an app that is creating the problem. you will then need to uninstall any recent apps to fix the issue. start with your most recent and work your way backwards.

before you uninstall an app, delete first it's cache and data......and then uninstall the app. adware like you have sometimes can reside in cache or its data files.

safe mode for j7 crown:
https://www.verizon.com/support/kno...s and hold the Power,tap Safe mode to confirm.

After renaming a button it no longer works

Hi forum.
I've a strange problem...
I was debugging my simple app and all it worked, after I renamed a button all button didn't work... So I tried to make a new app with only a button and this has the same problem

public class MainActivity extends WearableActivity {

Button test;

@override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
test = (Button) findViewById(R.id.buttons);
test.setText("•");
test.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
@override
public void onClick(View view) {

test.setText("_");
}
});
// Enables Always-on
//setAmbientEnabled();
}
public void sendMessage(View view) {
test.setText("––––_");
}
}

In the logCat I see this info

2021-03-07 11:10:34.844 19294-19294/com.example.tennisgame W/ViewRootImpl[MainActivity]: Cancelling event due to no window focus: MotionEvent { action=ACTION_CANCEL, actionButton=0, id[0]=0, x[0]=62.996155, y[0]=75.99426, toolType[0]=TOOL_TYPE_FINGER, buttonState=0, metaState=0, flags=0x0, edgeFlags=0x0, pointerCount=1, historySize=0, eventTime=15866864, downTime=15866744, deviceId=0, source=0x1002 }

Can somebody help me?

Help Keep losing mobile service

Diagnosing a system flaw is beyond my range, unfortunately.

Many times the people at a sales area know little more than the 'factory reset' mentality.

A factory reset will, as you have found, 'fix' most issues.
But thats just it.
It is a temporary band-aid on the problem, and without knowing the actual cause of the problem, it is almost sure to happen again- as you have also found.

At this point, I would back up all important personal data, and then in a separate storage make a backup of your user apps.

Do another factory reset.
You did say that his 'fixed' the problem for a short while before, correct?

Now start the device, but do not put your own personal apps onto it yet.
Wait for a day or two, only using the device with the built in apps that came with it.
{Wait at least as long as it took for the problem to happen again the last time.}

See if the probablem returns.

If it does not, then it is one of the apps that you are putting onto the device.
If it does, then it is the device.

After a good while without the issue, begin adding your own apps back to the device- one at a time- and then waiting some more.
This will be painstaking on your part.

Keep adding apps one at a time and then waiting, until the problem happens again.
Then you will know for sure which app it is, and you can get rid of it.

Name of this icon?

May I upload a better version on a new post?
no your last post is fine.

so unfortunately i do not recognize the icon.

we get this question every day, and the most simple answer is to just look at the phone's notifications to find out. but 9 times out of 10 the phone is inaccessible for one reason or the other. the second simple answer is to just ask the person who owns the phone, if the phone is not yours......i guess that is a much harder then it looks.

the problem is that there are millions upon millions of apps, each with their own notification icons....so unless it is an app that is a popular one,most of these questions goes unanswered.

but you never know.....you might get lucky....good luck
