How to update the Kotlin Plugin in Android Studio

Hi . I am new to Android development.

My question is:
How can I update the Kotlin Plugin in Android Studio ?

It is not related to coding per se, but concerns Android Studio. If you know a better forum for this matter, please give me a suggestion.

Here a bit of context:
It seems I need to update the Kotlin plugin version that is bundled to the android flutter project.

I did so because the flutter plugin I try to use exploits some features that are not supported by the current kotlin version in Android 4.1.2.

So, in order to update the Kotlin plugin the way it is said in the kotlin doc:
in Android Studio: Tools → Kotlin → Configure Kotlin Plugin Updates,

but it does not open. Nothing happens.

What could cause that ? Is there another way to update the kotlin plugins ?

By the way, if I try to access settings with File →Settings, It's the same: nothing happens. Cannot figure it out why.

I dont know whether it could be more Flutter-related instead, but I ask people there too.

Many thanks by advance.

Is a forward button possible

That was 1988/1989 my memory doesn't go that far back. But I want to say it wouldn't spin backwards, no release, I may be wrong, I just remember having to take it out and rewind it, and I want to say we always bought the XXL size so it was longer than most. Again I could be wrong about it. lol

Well, for sure there had to be some sort of ratchet mechanism to move the ribbon the correct amount (one character) and then it would lock down to hold the ribbon in place.

Pretty sure we just jammed it in the unlocked position with an ink pen, and then just spun the ribbon backwards off of the take up reel.

Pretty good results, too, at least the first time.

How to limit sound notifications to 2 only

@puppykickr's suggestion above about "Do Not Disturb" may however give you what you want: you can create a list of apps that are still allowed to notify you when you are in DND mode, so if you do that and then leave it in DND that should give you the result you are after.

You've certainly got more apps whose notifications you can't disable than I have - I have fewer than half of those apps on my phone at all, and my Clock app does let me disable them (probably not the same app as yours, as the Clock is something manufacturers often replace with their own version). And I don't think any of the remainder have ever given me a notification, which means they aren't a problem.

I've no idea what "Chrome Stories" are because I disabled Chrome on my phone. But this doesn't make me regret that choice at all ;).

Help Lots of issues on the alcatel 1. I want to put a new OS on it or fix the issues completely.

Just something to consider but while Treble was introduced in Oreo's release, that doesn't necessarily mean Alcatel included support for it. Most manufacturers are pretty lax about including all the features that come with each new version, or they just don't opt to (i.e. Samsung won't include adoptable microSD card support by default).

So don't be surprised if your Alcatel 1 doesn't support GSI.

While you are right to question the support. Even the go editions supported treble. I have two budget Alcatel phones (one of which is a 5 dollar phone) and both support project treble.

Help How to get YouTube mini player on the lock screen

Also no casting to chromecast feature..

Why can't youtube implement these great features themselves

Oh, they do- they just want you to pay for it, lol.

Yeah, NewPipe is pretty great.

Just be aware that Google absolutely hates it, and will periodically change their inner workings, and then NewPipe and other apps like it will stop working.

But fear not, because the folks at NewPipe work tirelessly in such situations to get an update out as soon as possible.

When such an incidence happens, you can check on what is going on on GitHub, basically in real time.

How to put the Google search bar widget to the bottom of my Android 10 homecreen?

Hi, normally the home screen looks like this: View attachment 156710 right?
The google search bar is on top, and apps below. Can't I make it like this?
oneplus-7-pro-android-10-gestures-1.jpg

The thing is, when I press and hold and drag the Google search bar widget to the bottom, only the top layer of apps move to give space, the very bottom layer of apps are still. Can't I do that on Android version 10? home screen layout isn't locked

As others have noted, it's your launcher that controls those things. I would suggest looking at Microsoft launcher, they keep it very generic and easy but add a few things like a two row dock if you'd like.

ZXing scanner trigger

Hello everybody,
I am carrying out the reading of the QR code and with the result search within a database to obtain information.
My problem is this: I use the ZXing library and the codes are read without problems. Once the scanner activity that displays the camera is launched, it continuously reads and processes the first valid code it finds.
I would like to give the operator time to go to the desired code (already viewing the camera of course), then press a button to perform the reading.
Can you give me some suggestions?
Thanks so much.
