Android 3D Apps for Real-Time Vehicle Hailing

Dear Android Developer Forum,

If anyone is interested, we have
3D android apps for taxi and delivery hailing
for developer testing.

Perhaps of interest for the forum
is the fact that the android software uses
IEEE Power & Energy Society Multi-Agents,
Telecom packet switching technology,
and was introduced by our staff
to a Graduate Department of Computer
Science in Canada in 2008 - before the
well-known taxi and delivery companies.

If interested see multiagentclub.wordpress.com,
and if you are interested in the technical topics
of android real-time taxi and delivery vehicle
hailing, and digital packet switching for
video clip and vehicle sensor-actuator communications,
we are interested in having a discussion.

Respectfully,
JACK

Casting without internet

I use a "Miracast" device.. looks kinda like a roku stick but doesn't require any internet connection. So the ScreenCast function should be 100% as long as your device is old enough to still have it in the OS, or you have a custom ROM installed.. since Google removed it from their coding sources to make a monopoly push with their ChromeCast devices.

Thanks for the insights ... seems my LG G5 may be compatible but also seems Miracast isn't a long term solution when I upgrade my phone. Guess I'll try the wired solution.

Galaxy S10 wallpaper puzzle

Hi all,

I hope somebody will be able to help me here because my S10 behaviour is sending me nuts.

I have an S10, on 3 network in the UK. A few weeks ago it started to change its wallpaper. Every day a new wallpaper. This affected the lock screen too.

I don’t want the phone to do this. I want the wallpaper and lock screen to be what I select and to stay that way.

I cannot find anything in the settings to control this.

Does anybody know what I need to do to revert back to a “|normal” wallpaper and lock screen?

Julian

Question about Apps update

I do not want my apps to Auto-Update. I just want to get a notification about available apps updates in the form of a dot with a number on the Icon of the Google Play icon. I will update manually the apps I wish to update..

There are other app stores that can give you better notification results than Google PlayStore.

In fact, any of the other ones that I use.

But, because there is virtually always something(s) updated every week, there is nothing wrong about checking it that often.

Google only recently changed their notifications system for Google Play.
Honestly, it was bothersome before, and now it just plain sucks.

And in all reality, I quickly became tired of constantly being pestered with notifications to update apps, so I have no notifications on for any of the four app stores that I use.

Unless there is some malfunction with an app, there generally is no real hurry to update software that is working.

Did you ever know someone that would work on something so much that eventually it just broke?

That is more common than you might think in the world of software.

Locked Phone

Well, for a nice wrap up, I went to Best Buy and the Geek Squad to see if they could do anything with this phone. They were booked up for the day and then some. Also stated it usually cost over $100.00 to get one unlocked. So I wandered over to the phone section with thoughts if getting a new phone. While waiting for other customers, a guy walked up and asked if I needed some phone help. Well, yes I do. I told him the problem and he took the phone and looked at some fine print on his phone. I don't know what he did, but the phone unlocked. The pattern was gone. I got a thought that he knew someone from Samsung and had "secrets" on how to fix my phone. Thanked him a ton and went home and reset up the phone with all the "stuff" in my old one. So now my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE purrs almost as good as my cat. All you have to do to get things working now days is to know just what you are doing.
.....And no screen lock of any size, shape, form or what ever. Not going through that nightmare again. Nothing really important on phone anyway.

Google maps: using with YouTube + how to avoid an area

Waze only needs that much space if you download a ton of maps for it.
Just download what you need.

I will say that I would rather go by the sun on a cloudy day, or at night for that matter, than ever try to use Google Maps for so much as getting an ice cream cone 1½ iles away!

Google Maps has steered me wrong every single time I ever tried it.
I literally would rather fold up a paper map properly WHILE DRIVING than ever infuriate myself by boinking around with that crAPP ever again.

Seriously.

Blindfold me and put me on the railroad tracks, and don't let me move until I solve a puzzle first.

That is better than Google Maps.

Anything different but colors????

So there's a zilllion youtubes out about this now covering everything so all I'll say is price price price.

Warning, unpopular opinion follows:
For me one of the things that cut the price was eliminating the glass back. To me it's a plus I would have paid extra for. I never wanted glass on the back of a phone, it's something else that can break. I'm probably going to get one and go caseless.

Help Android files app keeps stopping and phone is slowly gaining storage space

Oh, crap!

I just may have figured it out, or part of it.

You have more than one user on the device?

Like a work profile?

And it works fine on one profile- but not the other?

Then you need the app in question to be in BOTH profiles.

When you set up the work profile, if that is what you did, all needed stock apps were automatically copied.

But, you then said that you deleted it.

That is a red flag, because you cannot delete stock system apps- unless you are rooted- or unless you have deleted the copied app from the work profile.

So, in your apps list within your settings -if you have a work profile set up- in the setting selection for 'show all apps, show system apps, show disabled apps', there should also be a setting for 'show work profile apps'.

Then all of the required system apps will show up twice, with a little toolbox icon for the ones in the work profile.

I bet that 'files' is missing the copy with the toolbox icon.
The work app was fine, just the one on my personal/admin user. Doesn't matter anyways as you stated tho, thanks!
