How to prevent phone from accidentally muting notifications?

I actually have Do Not Disturb mode permanently on, to stop mystery background apps from randomly making my phone beep when I'm trying to sleep. But I have an exception set to permit the ringtone when I'm called. So, the problem is not Do Not Disturb mode coming on, since it's always on.

The volume keys on my phone unfortunately do work when the screen is locked.
Maybe it is an otterbox around your device?
I keep on poping out my cell always to plug it in, so it is nice and loose, but it is also tight.

Can't toggle between radio apps on Android 15

Thanks for your input. There are two or three radio apps I use, and only one radio app plays the stations I listen to, so I have to use two or three different apps. It's just weird that they took away the ability to view all the apps and switch between them. I will contact Samsung and follow up with them. Just another frustrating thing that happens when new versions come out!

Gas prices?

I was up town this weekend and passed a number of QuikTrip gas stations. (largest retailer in my area) They have a corporate headquarters here and normally all of their station's gas prices are the same. I couldn't help but notice that pricing varied as much as a dime across the different stations. Maybe prices at the pump were the same but their signage didn't reflect it. Whatever, it is highest in my burb just five miles South of town. $2.98

Android limiting CPU all of a sudden

Looks like the Motorola G31 has this locked.

Me: What are the cpu clock speeds for the Motorola G31
AI: The Motorola G31 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The CPU configuration for this processor includes:
  • Two Cortex-A75 cores: These cores are clocked at up to 2.0 GHz.
  • Six Cortex-A55 cores: These cores are clocked at up to 1.8 GHz.
So I ran CPU Throttling Test - Apps on Google Play because the one in your link no longer exists, and it showed it running 50% of this speed, slowing from full to half in the first minute.

ME: How do i stop a phone throttling the cpu when I do heavy work on it?
AI: Enable Performance Mode: Some phones have a performance mode that optimizes CPU and GPU performance. Check your phone's settings under Battery or Performance to see if this option is available.
ME: I can't find how to enable performance mode
AI: On the Motorola G31, there isn't a specific "Performance Mode" feature like you might find on some other smartphones.

Well that's that then. Misadvertising in the extreme. Like a 140mph car which can only do so for one minute, and will only do 70mph continuously. Pity, because Motorola is the least annoying company I've come across so far.

So why is it throttling when it's not overheating?

[APP][FREE] Zone Monitor - monitors camera & alerts when motion detected

Overview
I wanted an app that would use my phone's camera to monitor a particular area, and alert me via email if motion is detected. I thought it would be a good exercise to write the app myself - as well as being an interesting project, this would allow me to implement whatever features I wanted. The app is free, and there are no restrictions or ads. I won't go into all the features here as they are explained on the app's website.

The APK file and explanation of all features/settings is at:
http://www.apdroid.byethost5.com/zonemonitor/zonemonitor.html

(I no longer publish my apps to Google Play since they made it mandatory to list my home address)

Permissions required:
  • INTERNET - to send emails when movement is detected
  • CAMERA - to take photos for comparison
  • RECORD_AUDIO - the app supports taking videos as well as photos
  • ACCESS_WIFI_STATE - required to set up the app's HTTP admin interface

Known issues:
I have tested this on a few different phones, and run it for weeks without restarting on an old Motorola device. It works fine on my Google Pixel as well, but on my OnePlus 3T it crashes quite frequently and I still haven't figured out the cause of this.

Feel free to give it a try and let me know if you run into any problems. There are quite a few settings that can be adjusted so it might be worth playing around with these to get the desired results.

(the original project name "Motion Detector" can still be found in various places within the app, I decided to rename it to "Zone Monitor" as there is already an app called Motion Detector; I will get around to fixing these at some point)
