I have a app comprising some unit tests, which test functions packaged in an AAR file, which itself contains unmanaged (C++) binaries. This file is created through another build process that dumps it in it's Release or Debug forms in a directory of the form build/Android.${Configuration} .

I have figured out how to bring this file into my project as a module by adding the AAR through the 'Project Structure' dialog, which is pretty standard. However, I must point it at either the Release or Debug AAR.

For my needs up to now, that has been fine: Debug all the way. Now I need to support Release bits also. [FWIW the need is driven by a request to put it into a build/test harness that runs in an Azure pipeline and wants Release]. The user would have access to either build type when running/debugging locally, but the server builds would default to Release.

What is the gradle "school solution" to this?

There must be one.

So depending on where the source file it located, use a file manager app to move it to her mobile device's internal storage. That original file is the primary one that all edits or copies should work off of.
And keep in mind, if that file is stored only on her device, she will risk losing it if something should happen to it (it get stolen. or lost, or it just fails in some way). Set up an automatic backup solution so there's always a backup. Seriously, backups are important.

I did try another app, but one of the features it was supposed to have didn't work. However, good news - I found a solution (posted above) - which I was probably typing as you were responding.

Did this work for your 9th gen? The article is about 7th gen.

The fire 10 hardware is good, but the software is very limiting.

You can generally Google those package names to find out what they are. That doesn't work for everything, but it should at least get you close.

And, like @Hadron says, anything which starts out com.samsung.* will be a Samsung package.

For anyone who might be having the same problem, my brother helped me solve it. He suggested there might be corrupted files on my phone. And I had noticed before that some pdfs and jpgs were behaving weirdly (not loading properly, crashing) so I deleted the suspected ones. It worked! I can open my phone on my laptop now.

Carriers add more crap, but my Samsung tablet and my daughter's S8 still both came with a hell of a lot more stuff than say my Pixel did. In fact the S8 allocates more space to the /system partition than the Pixel does despite the S8 having a single system partition and the Pixel having 2. Of course some of it is to support loads of system "features", rather than stuff that appears in the app drawer, but I've yet to see a Samsung that I'd consider "lean". And to be clear, nobody in my family ever buys carrier-branded devices.

Though to be fair, they have improved: my tablet's original ROM had a number of commercial apps (stuff like Evernote) not only pre-installed but set so you couldn't even disable them (so they'd still use space with updates - or else clutter your app update list permanently - and sometimes run in the background even if you never used them). Thankfully a lot - though not all - of that was removed by later system updates. Of course whether that was because Samsung realised this was hostile to customers or because the companies decided it wasn't worth paying Samsung to do this I don't know .

Hmm .. It's really weird that such high end devices have such problems. I really don't understand why to overpay for the brand, when the functionality in more budget smartphones is not worse at all. For example, I use a Xiaomi smartphone with a 48 megapixel camera. I agree that the standard application that comes with a smartphone is a complete slag, but thanks to third-party applications like Google cameras, this problem can be easily solved. For example, recently on the site https://lensespro.org I found an article on how to properly photograph at night. I tried this method on my camera and the result amazed me very much. I decided to try a similar method on my smartphone and google camera allowed me to do it. As unreal as it may sound, the night sky can be perfectly photographed and it will look really cool.

This is from 5 years ago and it looks like both the app and the OP are long gone.

Yes.
Apex was putting an undoable strain on the limited resources of my low end devices.

The launcher itself was using about 30MB of RAM, which is fairly typical for launchers that I have tested, but the crappy Google analytics in it was using 200MB.

This being a launcher, it was always a running app.

This constant 200+MB was such a strain on a 1GB RAM device that the device was constantly crashing and restarting.

Now that Apex is gone, the problem has stopped.

I now use a fast, simple launcher called KISS that has no analyitics at all.

How old is your phone's software? There used to be an app called Calendar Snooze which did this perfectly, but it's no longer supported and doesn't work with modern Android versions (9 or 10 certainly, not sure about 8).

"Calendar Notify" does something similar, but I had trouble with that too (can't remember details, might have been that it interfered with forwarding notifications to my fitness tracker - in any event I removed that a year ago).

Those are the only 2 I can think of. All I can suggest is trying and seeing whether they work for you, but since neither is being updated now don't be surprised if it's not a long-term solution. Maybe someone else will pick up this baton...?

Miracast is an app, whereas chromecast is a physical hdmi device. You'd have to either install miracast on your phone to be able to cast anything, or by a chromecast

not every phone is rootable. unfortunately your phone is one of them.

for anything root related always head on over to xda. this is the closet thing that has some tid bits of info about rooting your phone. it really does not lead to anything, but there a few posts that can put you in the right direction. but you will need to know how to use adb, fastboot, and some coding to go further.

but really why do you want to root? there is no development for your phone. there is no custom recovery which is the one selling point in order for me to root a phone. a custom recovery can make backups of your phone called nandroid backups. these backups are essential especially if you plan on deleting things off your phone. if you delete the wrong thing, your phone can become a paperweight. but if you have a custom recovery and made a nandroid backup, you can just restore back and all is good.

so no development means that a developer has not made a custom recovery or even custom roms. and just remember no devs=no fun.

next time pick a phone that has a good development community before buying it, if you plan on rooting the phone.

how are you connecting to the internet? it will not connect on your phone only, correct? maybe try wiping cache and data and then uninstall the yahoo app.
