PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi @mikedt, but that is the point I was trying to make, with any on-line transaction I have to give the full long number and the expiry date from the front of the card if it is a credit card and they can ask for the start date for debit cards but rare!y do, followed by the CVV number from the back of the card because it is a 'cardholder not present' transaction.

The retailer stores those details, supposedly in a secure way and, with purchases such as subscriptions which can continue for some time will remind you to update your details in the event of the card about to expire. The new card will obviously have new start and expiry dates but the CVV number also changes. They have to have those details in order for the subscription to be renewed.

Fast reviews for popular apps...

I'm a new developer. I'm working for a start-up and I had developed an app for them. It is in the play store for a few months. In this pandemic time, every developer face delay in reviewing time. sometimes it took a week or up to a month. But the popular apps like Facebook, Instagram and more getting quicker reviews and update is hitting the play store frequently. Why does this partiality on reviewing the app? or is reviewing being done based on popularity(number of downloads). Can anyone explain?

AF image upload limit

I use GIMP
Yep, me too, as noted earlier. I've used it so long... ...I can't remember what I used before it...
What else is there?! :D
- Image---> scale image and choose between reziing by pixels inches, cms or percentage - Simples. I resize camera images to 1000 x 750. phone images to 1000 x whatever fits the aspect ratio.
Simple indeed--but not terribly handy for the purpose in this thread, i.e., resizing images [on a phone] to upload to AF, without jumping through hoops! :) For that, I don't think F-Stop Pro can be beat.

Anyone experiencing long App approvals by Google?

+1 lately. So the first six weeks after Covid, updates seemed to be completely normal as I did like 8 updates during that time. I saw the warning for 7+ days and figured it was for new apps or I was just lucky. Well, now I've had a simple update in there for about a week. The release dashboard says my new update is live, but it clearly isn't because I don't have any crashes, reviews, or anything on it (and I ALWAYS do). Also, I check on Google Play itself and I see the last version release notes. Saying it's live, but not having it live is confusing and making me wonder if I should ship another update or sit tight. Also, and this might be unrelated, my store experiment is not gathering data (experimenting with different screenshots). I've done tons of experiments and never seen this happen.

Apps Accessing call functionality inside an application

Hello all

I'm looking for information on how to make a phone call from inside an application.

I do not want to be just directed to the dial pad in the phone app. I want the call to initiate on click.

I also want to be able to control the phone call from inside the application, e.g terminate the call.

Finally I'd like to make sure that the call does not generate a call log which would be accessible in call history or 'recent' calls tab.

Has anyone got information on how I would begin to go about this? Does anyone have any experience making a program with this sort of functionality.

Thanks in advance

Help Is there a custom ROM or distro that would work on an ASUS Fonepad K004?

I recently came into possession of a ASUS Fonepad K004. It runs on Android 4.1.2. I intended to set it up for an older relative to use, but it doesn't have much functionality since the OS is so outdated. Most apps are no longer compatible.

I tried downloading older APKs for a few apps which were compatible with 4.1, but they only worked briefly before trying to force an update and locking me out. I imagine this is due to the online connection required (I tried installing YouTube, Duolingo etc) but I wondered if there was perhaps a workaround?

I was looking into installing a new OS onto the tablet that would allow me to use older versions of some apps and at least get a little functionality out of it, but it seems that most of the common ones (LineageOS being a good example) do not support the device.

Are there any other options for such an old device that could help restore some functionality and allow use of the aforementioned apps?

Help Android beam questions

There are plenty of tutorials out there on how to access logcat, which records the entire activity of your device. Any process that occurs is recorded. Since this is stored in the system memory, you may need root privilege for some devices and you'll definitely need to access it via ADB (Android Debugging Bridge) via PC. In other words, it's awesome to have but it ain't easy to get to!

How to post App & Game Announcements

At one point we battled dev spam to an insane degree. We had to structure it as you see here. Not sure we outright banned it here, but we have def relaxed restrictions these days.

I always suspected there was no interference from Google. For some reason, those site honchos just decided they didn't want app announcements on the sites any longer and they must have thought the membership and staff needed to be told a "story" to shift the responsibility for the decision. Could not complain about annoying spam because nobody wanted to tell the moderating staff to do something sometimes. Can't always leave the dirty work to one or two conscientious moderators. Myself, I always saw a purpose for the announcements, as long as staff kept things under control, neat and tidy. But like I said, one or two people can't do it all.
