To fill in a couple of details on what Hadron mentioned, I think for your device you will name the file: 0PM9IMG.zip

The simple version of how to extract the zip from the RUU is to:
Run the RUU
Then browse to the temp folder (start>run>%temp%)
Search for "rom"
Copy/paste rom.zip to your desktop or wherever
Rename to 0PM9IMG.zip
Place on the root of your ad card
Reboot to bootloader

You'll have to confirm the update by hitting a volume button. This is where you might have a problem. Your options are pretty limited when you can't use commands or use physical buttons on the phone.

Encrypted SD Card

  1. I mounted the encrypted SD card on my laptop
  2. Transferred everything off the card to a new folder on my laptop
  3. Formated the SD Card in ex-fat
  4. Put it back in my phone
  5. Encrypted the empty card
  6. Pulled it and mounted it to my laptop again
  7. Transferred the encrypted files back to the SD card
  8. Pulled it and put it back in my phone
  9. Decrypted the card
Voila, I can see all my photos again. Perhaps encrypting the card is the wrong way to go and I should just be backing up photos daily, but I am certainly happy to hear anyone's full OPSEC plan for if their phone is lost or stolen.

This is apparently a deceptive list of instructions, DO NOT attempt this. At best it will just fail, at worst you will end up deleting your photos. File transfers between different devices and encrypting the storage media don't work this way. Again, don't try this.

The carriers are commercial outfits. They spend money on storing data when it's of use to them or when legally required. Otherwise it's just a waste of cash that could be used for management bonuses (or paying living wages to all of their staff, but that would be a bit too radical wouldn't it?).

White Stone is pretty good, and the downside of it is that they offer lifetime warranty but charge you $25.00 fee for shipping and handling when you have a warranty claim..

AndroidX86: Kernel compilation error: [Makefile:1050: sound] Error 2

I have been trying to recompile PrimeOS' kernel from https://github.com/primebook/android_kernel_common. I just have to replace a .c file within drivers/platform/x86. Here's what I did:-
  1. Replaced .c
  2. make clean && make mrproper
  3. Copied arch//configs/android-x86_deconfig to linux source root folder as .config
  4. make bzImage modules
This stops with the following error:-

Disable pull down notification bar

Galaxy Note 10 user as well. Using the DND option on the phone doesn't keep the notification / status bar from being pulled down.

I'm also in need for something to prevent this from happening while gaming specifically. The game already hides it in full-screen, I want to disable it completely (not able to accidentally swipe and pull it down).

Any response or help is appreciated.

HELP ME WITH ANDROID STUDIO

I would like some help/advice on an issue I have involving Android Studio.I'm using android studio and the java language to code however, whenever I try to create a bottom navigation activity in my project only the UI folder is present however the main activity isn't present on the left hand project menu and I was hoping you could help me with this issue, just to make you aware that the problem is not because of any errors in my code and I have tried cleaning and rebuilding my project, it also isn't in the UI folder.The clip i have attached to this email will display the issue.Thank you in advance.

Samsung Galaxy A70 vs A71 - please help me choose

Hello, this is my first post here. My old trusty Galaxy Note 4 is going to be replaced soon, after almost 5 years of usage.
I'm on a bit tighter budget and I'll have to skip flagship models this time. I'm choosing between Galaxy A70 (=330 euros) and A71 model (=400 euros). I am aware of the differences on paper, as I have already searched for comparisons. I would like to know if A71 is worth extra money for the cpu performance on the long shot. I am not a heavy phone user, never play games, etc. Usually just browsing and using social media apps. The battery is important though. What do you guys think, is A71 worth extra 70 euros or I'll be fine with the A70?
