Help Moto g7 battery life suddenly worse

Update: Spent four hours out of town. In that time I checked texts and sent a few, and spent a fair amount of time on the phone. Bluetooth was involved too. At the end of four hours, starting with a full charge:

battery remaining: 86%
used 13% in 3hr 59 minutes
Phone: 1:13:16 59%
Screen: 17m 16%
Phone radio: 3hr 59min 23%
held awake 2%
app usage 0%

So in four hours out of town, phone radio used 23% of 13% of my battery. In eight hours last night at home, it used 76% of 37% - with nobody doing anything to it, like using it as a phone. What's up with this?

Help java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method error

Welcome to Android Forums, Randy_Gold! :)
I am getting this error whenever I try running my app.
You're most likely to find help for this by posting on our Android Development board, where other developers hang out.

Please be as detailed as possible when posting there, for example, if you're using Android Studio, which version is it and what platform are you using? Also, using the 'code' tag to encase your text output makes for a neater, easier to read post.

Good luck with your app!

Is it possible to develop an app that can be activated when phone is locked?

There's already a feature that's a part of Android to show your emergency info:
https://support.google.com/android/answer/9319337?hl=en
Finding the option to set it up is going to depend on your phone and which version of Android its running, on different phones it's buried inside different Settings menus. Open up your Settings menu and use the search icon (magnifier icon) for 'emergency information'.

There's also an Emergency Calling feature that's set up by default. Press the Power button and when the lock screen pops up there should be 'Emergency' link towards the bottom:

Help Android 10 Killed My Phone's Volume

This is how I like my homepage to look. Going through the launchers on the Play Store, they all look so cheesy.
Without knowing which launchers you've looked at, I can't know if my suggested one is cheesy-looking to you! :) But I like ADW Launcher 2; I've used it, and its predecessor, for as long as I can remember. It lets me do everything I want with my Android devices' look and feel.

If you're interested in seeing some things it can do, take a look at this thread.

Personally, I prefer a clean, uncluttered view; I'm quite the minimalist! Here's my default home screen:

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 Plus Will Have A Super Zoom A Periscope Camera

Those who have not heard the latest news, it includes the bigger Galaxy Note 20 plus, and they’ll be happy to hear that no 100x Super Zoom arrived for the Galaxy Note 20 camera.
The latest article here is a closer examination.
The Galaxy Note 20 Plus features a new camera-type module, according to new information from the Dutch website GalaxyClub.
It will have Super Zoom’s forthcoming flagship feature but we don’t think it is as ridiculous as Samsung’s 100x Space Zoom app.
We believe this is the right decision, because the return on the digital zoom is dwindled, which is only good enough for a few shots, as the novelty is gone after this.
There is no proof as well that this periscope camera is being delivered by the smaller Galaxy Note 20.
Since GalaxyClub does not refer to the other models, it is possible, and it would not be surprising, that it could remain exclusive to Galaxy Note 20 Plus.
This is why the Galaxy Note 20 Plus uses a 120 Hz LTPO screen according to previous studies, while a 60 Hz LTPS display can only be used in the base model.
In addition, the Galaxy Note 20 Plus may only be the edition of the two which is supplied with a 108MP camera, whereas that sensor may not be supported by the smaller model.
However, as the new study addresses a “special” camera, it is likely that a lot of elements can differentiate the module from the Galaxy Note 20 Plus in the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Stolen phone

Google's 'Find my phone' service is already included on your phone:
https://www.google.com/android/find
As for those third-party services you're looking into, they need to be installed on your phone and configured, so that's not an issue at this point since you don't have possession of your phone.
Also keep in mind that any remote location app will need your phone to have online connectivity (WiFi or cellular) and Location must be enabled for the above mapping to work. If you had a lock screen enabled whomever has your phone might not even be able to use your phone, so WiFi might not be a likely option since the WiFi networks you have saved are probably well out of range and cellular might not work out if your carrier has already cancelled that account.

Change all your password to all your online services now. You want to keep your email and social media accounts safe. Your carrier referring to the phone's IMEI is only pertaining to the phone's hardware identifier. Once that phone is blacklisted, the other carriers follow that blacklist so getting phone service will be a problem with that phone. But all the apps you had set up on that phone are you're responsibility, or more importantly all you online accounts that those apps connect to. Change your passwords so those apps lose their access.

iRulu x7 - Bricked?

Your initial description of your problem appears to be network related. I'd focus on that -- flashing the ROM 'might' be a solution, if not a bit extreme, if the problem is with your tablet but if it's due to your router than you can flash your tablet's ROM a dozen times and that won't help.

And just a reminder, that tablet is old hardware running an out-of-date version of Android. Depending on your router and its configuration, WiFi connectivity might involve compromises. A newer router will be using more recent protocols so whenever you're also trying to include old devices there's an unavoidable mismatch.

Help Installing Android Go edition on Samsung Galaxy K Zoom

The first custom rom I ever flasted was a ClickworkMod Rom (CWM) with Aprint and my Samsung Galaxy S3. It removed alot of bpoatware , the OS lo ked so much nicer and my S3 was much more responsive.
You should start by checking is you Sammy has an unlocked bootloader.
Thanks I will check this info, hope a day will come and I will be able to update this old rock.

Roaming indicator off notification

With the latest update on my Galaxy S9 when I go to unlock it it says 'roaming indicator off' on the top in the status bar it never showed this before. Any ideas how to get rid of this I do have roaming shut off.
When you say you have roaming shut off do you mean data roaming or all roaming (including calls)? Data roaming is a setting in the phone, roaming per se isn't on any phone I've ever used (rather it's part of your contract, and if you don't want to use it either get your service provider to remove it or put the phone in airplane mode when travelling).

As for the message, I reckons that's a Samsung thing: turning data roaming off does not produce that message for me. To me it sounds like a warning that you've disabled notifications for roaming. Maybe go into your notification settings and have a look at which ones have been turned off?

It seems reasonable to warn someone if this indicator is off, for the reason Mike gives. When I'm in Northern Geneva my phone frequently switches between Swiss and French networks - which is to be expected if you know your geography. But a GSM handset can connect to a basestation up to 35 miles away, so it's possible for example to connect to a French network from the South coast of England (which caught a few people in the early days of mobile phones, when bad coverage was more common). And if you are somewhere where that could incur roaming charges then this is something you might like to be warned of. Though since I always unlock with a fingerprint and rarely see the lockscreen this particular warning would be of little use to me...

Help Where is Bluetooth history?

I checked my Samsung S7 that's running Android 8.0 stock Samsung. and it has nothing, no history options at all. What I posted previously is from a Huawei Mate 10 running Android 10.0

After reading your post @mikedt looked at my other Note 4 on 6.0 other than a custom recovery completely stock. I have to use a low res cam to post under the 2 Mb limit. I learned that from you my friend.

PS, I had an AF popup when I was typing. I swiped and accidentally posted to soon. Opps :

MediaPlayer creates more than one buffer in SurfaceFlinger

Hello everyone, I have a problem in my app development

I'm currently developing video live wallpaper and I'm having some issue. The video plays well, I also release the video every time onCompletion is invoked. However, when the mediaplayer object is prepared (onPrepared called) or playing, there will be around 5+ allocated buffer in the surfaceFlinger
I got it by calling the "adb shell dumpsys SurfaceFlinger" command
The allocated buffer will be back to one after the mediaplayer object is released
The dumpsys output is attached

Is this behavior normal? Is there some articles where I can learn about it?

Any help would be very appreciated
Thank you

No Data Transfer via μ-USB Port

Hello All,
The micro USB port of my phone is a Motorola G4 Play (Harpia) has stopped working for a long time — no data transfer of any sort, no OTG, no ADB, no File-Transfer, nothing; only charging works. I thought it was the port to PCB soldering, so I re-soldered it. Didn't work. I changed the Charging PCB (https://www.maxbhi.com/charging-connector-flex-cable-for-moto-g4-play.html), twice. Neither worked. Now, my LCD is broken, so it is unusable beyond being a wireless hotspot or for receiving calls. I'm in a dilemma whether I should replace it (₹1000+ for spares) or give up & move to a 2G Basic Phone.
Can anyone help me figure out why the USB data transfer is not happening in my device? I'd really love to repair it.
Thank You.

Note: It is not a driver issue as I use Linux & lsusb doesn't show the device. It is not a ROM issue either since the same happens in TWRP and across the ROMs I've flashed.
