LGMS323 won't stay connected to internet

I replaced the battery, and now the phone is working fine. I replaced the battery with a spare I had because the battery in the phone was draining very quickly, so I knew it was worn out. I want to keep the phone for now because my uses are so basic.

Google search, Google maps, Gmail, etc. are all working fine now, but I am still getting the "Item not found" message when I try to install the new version of Youtube. When I tap the Youtube icon I get the message "A new version of Youtube is available. Install it now from Google Play". Then when I tap on "Install Now" I get the message "Item not found". I cleared the cache and data for the Google Play app, but I still get the message "Item not found" when I try to install Youtube.

Request Password Authentication

I am trying to understand how the authenticator.requestpasswordauthenticaion() method works. This method is part of the class Authenticator. It says in the official documentation that "it asks the authenticator that has been registered with the system for a password".
What is this authenticator that has been registered with the system? and where is the password actually stored? Where does the method get the password from?

Samsung galaxy s5 not updating to Marshmallow 6.0

The U.S. carrier minority variants tend not to fair very well in other countries. For instance, the G900A would not be compatible with most, if not all, of the African 4G/LTE networks.

I would recommend skipping the Galaxy S5 phones in this day and age as they only sport 2GB of RAM and struggle with a lot of heavy usage. You might do better at looking at Huawei, Honor, OnePlus global models of phones with 4 or 6GB of RAM and say, dual, cameras. Since I am based in the U.K. I cannot say what the used phone market is like in the U.S.A. Here are some suggestions... https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8514&idPhone2=8416&idPhone3=8938#vtr-l29,usa,usa
@ironass you've been a great help.

OPPO FIND X PROBLEM

Oppo phones and Oppo chargers use a proprietary fast charging method they call "VOOC", and any other chargers will only charge Oppo phones at normal or slower rates.

No worries thanks for your replies!
I've only been using it for a year though which is so weird that the battery may be the problem. I was thinking about this possibility too.

But I dont think Oppo find x's battery can be replaced though?? SO SAD!! I really hope its not the battery problem.
Maybe I'll bring it to the shop but I'm not sure if they can check??
Google suggested factory reset (to see if its really the problem with the update) but I'm reluctant

I think it's worth trying a reset, in-case it is the Color OS update just made something go funky in the software.

Can't Change Notification Sound...

the phone is not defective. i would not use any other 3rd party apps that take control of your notifications until you sort out the issue.

i will admit I dont use alexa's sound notifications but i do many other apps and they all have their own sound profile separate from the main "system sound". maybe what you are asking fro the alexa app is not possible in the latest build? you may want to reach out to amazon (there is a good subreddit r/amazondev but dont quote me on the exact spelling) and see if they have changed the app. you seem to know how to change the sound settings and I was able to change the sound settings for one particular routine , but i did not try other settings on that app. it may be just an issue with that app...

Issue with phone storage

We would understand you are skeptical or if you will..hesitant about the factory reset..if that's the venue you don't wanna take..hear me out:

My mom has a J7..and does exactly what yours does..apparently the internal storage fills up too quickly so the phone starts acting up..freezing, lagging, sometimes reboots, asks for apps to be deleted and so on..
So I rescue her day in a way that turns out to be very effective by..

First you don't just simply clear the apps and users data..you actually manually delete it..
You have to go in the folder(any of your choice..the native is good)..then headed to
The Storage..where every single app you've downloaded hoarders bunch of data..then you go to each one and delete all that junk(make sure you save what you wanna save..then get rid of the rest.
Example..Whatsapp, you go inside through the folder..Media..videos..delete them, images..delete them, and so with the rest that are in there..

Then after that..you go to the phone system..look up strange..and then now you can clear the user and app data that is irrelevant.

I hope this helps.

Capturing HTML5 content in a WebView

Greetings,
all the standard techniques for webview screenshot don't work when HTML5 has been rendered. It simply yields a blank page. Render plain HTML and it all works. Documentation for webview doesn't even mention HTML5 or HTML5 canvas, so I'm at a loss for where to look for assistance in this matter.

Thanks
--Sal

Could not find a native API to snapshot the HTML5, so I solved this issue by using javascript's toDataURL() which converts a canvas to an image.
