There are two apps that I use to give me some piece of mind.

They are:

PilferShush (F-Droid)- which keeps other apps from using the microphone

Pandroid Camera (APK Pure)- which sets up a user controlled device administrator privlege on the device, which is accessible via a quick tile.

I want to note that the built-in screen recorder works perfectly.
I've also tried LineageOS 14.1; On which I faced no video playback problem except camera video recording.
Phone Soft-reboots while trying to play any video from any kind of source such as YT/FB app [Except the Default Cyanogenmod File Manager]...
*Both the roms are Nougat 7.1.2 based and running on 3.18.35 kernel on MT6580 chipset.

A Verizon employee told me that it was a hardware issue and that I need a new phone. So I used the insurance that I purchased along with the phone to have a new phone overnighted to me. Upon receiving it and setting it up with all the same apps, the new phone experienced the exact same symptoms. I got frustrated and I
Uninstalled the last 4 apps that I had installed. Apparently one of them was the culprit because I haven't had the issue since. I wish I could tell you what those apps were, but I honestly didn't remember.

i dont use crackbook aka facebook ,, but I use Outlook and I have no issue with notifications in nova.

if you used the stock launcher and you did not see the notifications, you are missing a step either on nova or the app itself.

again its going to be hit or miss help over the internet since we cant see your phone but showing photos of your notification settings will be helpful.

No, I am not on Beta firmware. I am using the system as purchased, with a security push update. Android 9.
I did not back up this phone.
Yes, Moto Z was the last phone used.
The Note 10+ is new, Verizon.

I still have Tesla Unread, which had transferred from the Moto Z. This morning I went in and selected the apps to receive notifications in Tesla Unread and selected Tesla Unread badges in Nova. I was happy to see the badges showing up on the apps until I started receiving messages that Tesla Unread had stopped. So I I'm afraid to use that.

I do get badges for MySMS (text message app), as well as for the phone and voicemail, which are the most important really. I think I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling the Facebook app and see whether that resets it. I've been tweaking the settings so much I've probably turned something off.

Can you confirm which variant of the P30 you've got there? ELE-L09 is single SIM, and ELE-L29 is dual-SIM, where the SIM2 space takes a SIM or a micro-SD memory card. There are NO workarounds.

Well let's rephrase the question: "how can you tell that any software is safe?". There's nothing special about apk files in this respect.
I can think of a few ways:

• If you have the source code you can analyse it yourself (if you have the knowledge, which your average user does not). But most apps are closed source.
• If you have the md5 checksum for a known safe copy of that apk you can check whether the copy you have matches. But that will rarely be the case.
• You can use security software that will scan the app before install for known malware signatures (many security apps can do this). But it will only pick up known malware, and all of these things produce false positives at times.
• Or if you have the time you can install an app on a test device and check, over a period of time, whether any bad behaviour results. Obviously you should only test one app at a time on a particular test device. Not really practical.

This is why for most people the most practical solution is to only download from a trusted source. You can use an anti-malware app to scan first if you want a second reassurance, but as noted these things can never be perfect.

(I won't call them "anti-virus" because android malware isn't of the virus type, and I prefer to use technical terms accurately).

We have our missing link! Thanks alot everyone, especially mikedt! I do restart the phone quite often because I use Orbot and it tends to crash sometimes. I probably restarted it myself before going out of the room to cook and forgot by the time I came back. I also seldom pay attention to the notes about updating because I find it exhausting being asked all the time so I usually press Later before even a second has passed. Once again thx for all the help!

The bizarre thing I should have mentioned is that some K9s work fine whilst others display the error message (we have multiple devices being used in this way).

Most carriers have set their own arbitrary limits with group texting to reduce the spamming problem. Apparently AT&T limits the number to 10.

Bummer it was stolen. Have you contacted your carrier and cancelled the account that phone was using? Notifying your carrier about your situation should also result in that phone's IMEI blacklisted, making things a lot harder for whomever stole it to get their own cellular service working on it.

Here's what I can come up with..
A few months ago I was doing Flex(Amazon delivery on my own car)..and I called the customer so she can come down to retrieve her package..when I called her some guy answered the phone..in the background there was like a hundred kids screaming and just being kids..that's what they do, right??..any way so the guy would in the mid time telling me some story and he would talk endlessly..but I thought the whole time he was talking to me..
So since I was in a hurry I hanged up and call again and the same story..but the weird thing is that I was convince he was talking to me..then I hanged up and call again..this time I was able to talk to the lady customer..she came down for her package and apologize she sent me to that "zoo"..it literally was a nightmare zoo for me..I listened to that guy's story for at least 10 minutes with no ending bla bla bla bla..
I though that was an ingenios app..

Now I can tell you, I've downloaded it..but I have not used it yet..I don't know if it's in the play store since I don't mess with it..

OK, so say you go the straight route and send your tablet to JPay to be unlocked. If all goes well, and you get back an unlocked tablet (and not a thumb drive & a sorry note from JPay). What do you have? An old tablet with old software. What can you do with it and how far can you update it?
I know my old 486 still runs, but it's a museum piece and has hit the end of it's upgrades long ago.
So is it even worth the effort as anything more than an intellectual exercise?

Hello guys few weeks ago i bought new HUAWEI P SMART 2019
The thing is that the battery seems to be drain really fast.Im not playung games on it and also i chcecked running processes.I sent it to service but they didnt find anything.
I compared my phone to another phones ( almost same as mine) but ia have really bigger battery consumption in aplications and the rtio between software and hardware battery usage is weird.Everyone have bigger hardware usage not the software. I dont know how its possible there are no viruses and im not using it so hardly.

I have just watched the Android Dev Conference videos and see there are some cool new features (Motion Layout, Compose etc) that I would like to take advantage of.

My question is, if I build an app with a version of Android Studio that is in Canary (or Beta) am I likely to face issues being able to publish it on the store? I fully understand that the features may not be 100% complete or stable at this point. What I really want to know is a submission likely to be rejected or subject to other blockers?
