Help Will internet tethering not work when phone is encrypted?

Whether the internal storage media is encrypted or not isn't relative to something like cellular-based tethering functionality -- the internal storage media is for retaining files and data on a semi-permanent basis; tethering is a function where an incoming cellular signal gets converted on-the-fly into an outgoing networking signal that passes through the USB bus. It's not a matter of that signal getting stored in any way in internal storage.
So the odds are encryption isn't a factor but something else that is relative to the tethering process. Proof of this is taking into consideration storage media encryption has been the default since Marshmallow so if it your presumption was actually true that would mean no phones since 2015 or so could not do tethering (and actually media encryption was introduced much earlier but wasn't the default for Android until Marshmallow).

What model is your old phone? Who is your carrier? There's also a matter where if your old phone has a microUSB port, your A3 has a USB Type-C port so check the cable you're using with your A3 isn't the source of the problem.

Where is wallpaper stored?

Also, how do I set an image for the lock screen that's different from the main wallpaper?

A gallery app shows all images on device and also tells you the location of the images on your device. (This doesn't include google photos app)

Long press on the image in your gallery app and click on details.

If tapping the back of the device hard is what's required to fix it this is hardware. Probably a loose connector (do you have to tap a particular point on the tablet?). It might be as simple as opening it up and pushing a connector into place properly, but whether you are happy to do that yourself or would prefer to pay someone to do it is up to you. I would think that nobody can know for sure what the problem is without actually opening the device.

Web Browser on FireTV?

I found my appsgeyser app registers itself as a web browser on my tablet. When I sideload it to my fire TV cube it acts like a web browser too, but it has no cursor. No problem I added spacial navigation to my web page called by the appsgeyser app. In effect its now a FireTV app. Very cool maybe a little off topic.

External Hard Drive

Thanks again all. I suppose that in the worst case I could buy a 256GB card for the card slot, which the A5 data sheet says it could accommodate. I could then manually swap between phone and tablet. Price-wise, it would be a better bet than an external drive.

Reblade these @$! razors

So you've got a pile of handles, but the few blades you happen to have doesn't fit them.

FYI this is not exactly a new problem.

Amazon sells off-brand blades that are supposed to fit Gillette Mach 3 handles, etc. rather than stumping up lots of $$$ for genuine Mach 3 blades. As for quality and if they give you a good shave, good luck!

Myself, I either use Schick disposable razors or an electric razor.

BTW if you happen to be in China, DO NOT buy Gillette Mach 3 from cheap markets. Trying to shave with fakes is not good.

Google Search Bar on Screen

I can't say how common it is with non-Google launchers. I know Samsung don't do it, likewise at least some of the Chinese models. Others you see a search bar in the default launcher but don't know whether it's the traditional removable one or a Google-style "we know what you want better than you do" (they really do want to be Apple, despite their protests).

It's not a big deal as stock launchers are always inflexible, limited rubbish so I never bother with them, and hence don't care what bad ideas they include. Personally I've never seen the point of a search bar anyway: every browser lets you enter search queries directly anyway (to a search engine of your choice), so I see no advantage to a bar on the home page.

Help Phone connection via USB and MTP

Hi there // Hello there!!
I'll explain you my bad experience nowadays. My phone is a Huawei Honor 7C (LND-L29) and i'm having some troubles with it. When I connect it to my PC, the menu for USB connection appears and I select Media Transfer. At this point all good, but the problem is that when I select it, phone automatically selects Charge Only... I've developer options activated and I've selected by default, use MTP but also happens the same thing, when I select it, this one returned to Charge Only...

Could anyone help me?? It's so sad to cannot transfer files via usb for this reason...

How do I remove birthday entries

I have a note 8 with Verizon, previously I had Sprint. Somewhere along the line a bunch of birthdays got added to my calendar. I use Outlook on my PC and I have a few contacts where I have entered their birthdays and these are the only birthday entries I want on my phone. When I open the calendar on my phone and see several birthday entries for a contacts where I do NOT have the contact in Outlook (Outlook is synced with my phone via Akrutosync, I only sync contacts, calendar, task, I do not sync my emails).
  1. How do I determine where the birthday entries that I don't want came from?
  2. How do I stop them from getting in the calendar on my phone?
  3. How do I remove the entry in the calendar?
On the phone I'm using the calendar that was made available by Sprint/Verizon, I've never used another calendar on the phone.

I was able to delete a few of the birthday entries by a long click on the entry and selecting delete but for most this is not an option.

Where I do have a birthday in Outlook 2013 on my Win10 PC I do want those in my calendar on the phone and my PC.

It will reset the developer options to default by the looks of it

To remap your controllers buttons so you can use it to launch things it's proven useful to get out of a frozen moment

Set a foreground killing action to one of your remote buttons go back and forth from app to app and hit that button

'I have 1 set to Google play and 2 to octopus and 0 to foreground kill when octopus freezes I press 1 press 0 then press 2 sometimes have to keep repeating it till it works again'
