Help iTunes Equivalent for Android Devices?

Needs to be noted that Apple recently announced it will be killing off iTunes as it's own multi-function service and just let all its features just move into their own discrete ones.
https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/apple-kill-itunes-wwdc-2019/

As for Google Music, it sounds like your audio library was still in the stages of being uploaded. Confirm that's all done and then see if the app is still taxing your phone's resources so much.

Adapter for Samsung Galaxy Note 10+

You might consider an inductive charging plate. (wireless charging) You can then charge your new phone and use the oem usb connection for your earphones. Another work-a-round would be to stream your audio BT as you are charging via the usb port. Easy solutions. I don't know of a charging cable that has the headphone adapter that will work simultaneously though it may exist.

We are discussing the Note 10 and 10+ here if you'd like to join us. https://androidforums.com/devices/samsung-galaxy-note-10.16515/

Do you know about this app?

I found a guy recently who is using an app which is like a personal blog, he posts some content and everyone who has installed this app can view the content.
There are options like 'Who am i', 'Messages' included within the app.

The name of the app is Private Blog, with a yellow money bag icon. The icon changes in the notification bar to a blue thunder symbol. This isn't available on the play store either. Tried Google, haven't found a single clue.

How did i find this in the first place? It was through a sponsored Instagram, swiping up on the story downloaded the app and i installed it to see what it was.

What i wanna know is if this app is custom made or available for public use. Like it has a dashboard where you post stuff from and receive messages too.
Or it is a simple blog which was made into an app using web view

root access.

Thanks...... It seems like no matter what I do, I just can't get /system mounted as R/W.

Every tool I've tried (even those with an r/w "switch") fail to mount it. EFS File explorer, EG.

I'm going to create a flashable zip and try an install from TWRP next.

I'm running (patched by Magisk) version of stock (build 10F) android Nougat for the LG V20 (US996).

Is it worth rooting?

I'd recommend you don't need to bother going through the rooting process unless there are specific reasons why do want to. But a lot of that depends on just what model is it and which version of Android it's running. Once you root it, all management becomes your responsibility. Things like OTA updates will be a serious judgment call on your part as applying them to a rooted device might work out fine or it might soft-brick your device so you have to go through a lot of corrective measures. A rooted device is also more vulnerable to being compromised as it only has half-measures to the integral security policies that are a part of a non-rooted device:
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/android-security-a-peek-behind-the-scenes/
You do need to be more vigilant about everything you do that involves any online interaction. This pertains more to a smartphone as they're more multi-functional in day-to-day usage than a TV set top unit but it's still relevant.
If however you just want to learn more about your device at a deeper level, than rooting it is less of an option but more of a necessity.

Startup error

Hello. I decided to write a small android application. Created an HTML file, and two folders with resources to it. It works well. I tried to create an apk file based on it using android studio. And when I run this apk on my phone, I see "Error: no valid storage adapters found". What could I do wrong? I know that there is little information, if something is needed - say, I will add. Help me please.

Apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Twitter, Facebook Instagram LinkedIn not working over Wi-Fi

Is this problem happening only when you're connecting to one particular WiFi network or is does this happen when you're connecting to any WiFi network?

If the former, it's probably something to do with just that one network. Try rebooting both your phone and the router and see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise, please provide more details on the router model and the general set up on that network. Is it your home network or a work one?

If the latter, that indicates it could be a problem with your phone. Is your Mi A1 running Nougat or Pie?

Phone case

Afternoon all,

I am having to use my old elephone p8 mini until my upgrade. Does anyone know where I can get a decent case from? Want one of those magnetic 360 cover ones but can't find one for this model

Failing that anybody know if another make/ model has same shape/ size so can get one of those cases?

Regards James

Tagging as a service; would that be useful to you as a developer?

Hey everyone, I'm a backend developer and I have a few API services that I'm looking to make public.

I'm here to test the market for a specific API that manages tags.

What you can use this for:
- managing tags such as adding a tag, editing a tag, removing a tag
- searching tags
- storing millions of tags

Applications:
- hashtagging is the most common
- tagging things internally for faster searching
- tagging things for storage

Benefits:
- performance, performance, performance
- scaling is all done on my side
- looking to make this free but also paid for really high traffic users

Its a generic and flexible solution. I'm sure there are other creative uses for it.

Looking to answer the following questions:
- what are your thoughts?
- would you use something like this?
- is there another backend service that you often have trouble finding?

Thanks in advance!

Tablets that accept 1tb sd card

its legit......san disk did come out with it only a few months ago. if you look at the amazon reviews a lot of the "fake" comments were from 2018.....so not sure what is going on there.

https://www.engadget.com/2019/05/15/sandisk-1tb-microsd-card-available/
https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/15/...microsd-card-available-b-h-photo-amazon-price
https://www.tomsguide.com/us/sandisk-1-tb-microsd-card,news-30079.html
https://www.sandisk.com/home/memory-cards/microsd-cards/extreme-microsd

and i do not see why any tablet would not accept this card.......not exactly sure why you want a card that costs around the same as most tablets though.

why do you need that much storage?

It’s going to be used in a party bus, so need large storage as it’s going to have as much music videos as I can fit on it.

Low Space, and Practical Solutions

Since I'm not really a techie, I'm really not sure if this will help or not. But I've had my phone for about 2 years also and started getting error messages from the phone saying my space was getting low. I deleted several games and a few other apps and it got worse. So I looked in the storage to see what was using the most data and it was chrome. This phone only has 4 GBs of data memory. So I figured since I still had Google as a browser, I could delete it then add it back. So I disabled it and it asked me if I wanted to take it back to the factory version instead. So I did that. Voila only using 38 mbs. Then I re-enabled it. No problems except a few lost passwords so far. And I recovered the lost passwords by email.
Hope this helps.

Any reason you replied to a two year old post? Just wondering.

Android security concern, plz help!!!

Text messaging is based on your phone number so a basic scenario is someone, who happens to know you and a lot of your personal details, could contact your phone carrier and while claiming to be you will attempt to take control of your phone number. A lot of scamming and cracking going on now isn't just tied to passwords and such, the fact that so many of us have numerous social service accounts that social engineering has become a real weak point. Be sure to log into your cellular carrier account, change your password and if they provide any other services to secure your account, i.e. adding a passcode, two-factor authentication, think about implementing them.
https://www.howtogeek.com/358352/criminals-can-steal-your-phone-number.-heres-how-to-stop-them/
As for changing your Google account password, don't forget about any other online accounts like Facebook, etc. If one service gets compromised it's that social engineering factor that could allow access into other online services you use. And while something like a keylogger installed on your phone is a possibility, it's not as likely as the media portrays. Your online presence is a much bigger target with more exposure.

‘Disable Absolute Volume’ missing under ‘Developer options’ on Sanyo Android (Oreo) TV

I have a Sanyo XT-43A081U LED TV running Android Oreo OS. I have a set of AirPods that I paired with the TV’s Bluetooth without any problems. But the volume is very low, almost mute despite of increasing the volume level to 90/100. After searching around, I found a common solution to turn on ‘Disable absolute volume’ under the ‘Developer options’ menu of settings. Although I have enabled the Developer options, for the life of me, I just cannot find the ‘Disable absolute volume’ option under it. So can anyone please help me unhide/enable this option for me so that I can fix the low volume on my AirPods connected via Bluetooth to this TV? Please note that the AirPods work just fine with my iPhone 6S with no problems with the decibel levels. Thanks in advance.
