Help Help! Samsung Galaxy A30-A305F/DS Bricked

I tried to root my phone using the method in the following link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a30/how-to/root-galaxy-a30-magisk-canary-relaese-t3936481 and at first it worked. Then a few minutes later when checking for root, my phone was suddenly no longer rooted.

I then tried to open Magisk Canary, but that caused my phone to keep rebooting.

I went into recovery mode, formatted and then tried to root again.

Now my phone is stuck in download mode (I cannot restart, if I try it just goes back) and has a message saying... Downloading... Do not turn off target. There is a message in red saying Error Validating footer. (6).

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Help [SM-G9750] [SOFTWARE BUG] Video playback being throttled or not utilizing CPU / GPU?

Try this clip for example, it's 4K HDR encoded in H.265 / HEVC, I don't know if that makes a difference:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/m83ftn7n8d8le2s/Plane_Crash_Scene.mp4/file

Stutters in the default video player app for me. One thing to note is that it's smooth in portrait mode, but the moment you rotate into landscape fullscreen, it starts dropping frames. Now, turn on the screen recorder from within game tools and the stutters are mostly eliminated. What gives?

Another way to compare would be with a video player that lets you switch between hardware and software decoding, like MX Player. Watch the clip in HW mode and then switch to SW - it's choppier in HW mode for whatever reason. Using SW is not an option as the colours are not displayed properly and battery drain is much higher.

Regarding the clip - if it's against the rules to post such content, let me know and I'll remove it. There's a whole YouTube channel full of this stuff, I don't want to link to those as the problem I'm encountering is related to local video playback.

FWIW I don't have an S10 myself and don't know anyone who does, but on my Huawei Mate 10 that Plane Crash Scene video plays perfectly on it, using MX, Kodi, and the stock video player.

The 4K YouTube video just buffers, unless I drop it to 1080, then it plays. Which is likely my limited bandwidth.

Help Issue with synching with WMP

I'm not sure if anyone is still reading but i have more details :)
The "problem" occurs if i synch a playlist. And the phenomena is the following : for every song in the playlist, the synching process creates additional folders with the structure albumartist/album (mp3 tags). To illustrate if the playlist contains the song Madame George with Album = "Astral Weeks" and AlbumArtist = "Van Morrison", the synching process creates a folder Van Morrison/Astral Weeks with 1 song Madame George.

I discovered in WMP in Tools/Options/<smartphone> -> Properties an option "Create folder hierarchy on device" that is checked. But i cannot uncheck it

Cleaning.. (exciting ha?)

So gave the Koh Universl Cleaner a go.. did a pretty good job after 3 applications the water stains are gone. I do have a very bad spot behind the taps that needs some more work, but generally it was good.

It's not very good with stainless steel tho, takes a lot of work and leaves the surface misty. I'll stick with my stainless cleaner for those areas as it does the job in 30s to a minute.

Help "Add to Home" option sends app to new home screen....

I feel your pain @Jerry Nunez my S8+ has been doing this for an age... it started after an OS update for me and continues to this day. Like you said the only way to control it is to drag and drop. The system ignores the blank spaces available on any other home screen..

It's not the end of the world, just annoying.

Edit: I should add that if you used a different launcher it would probably fix the issue. Not sure tho as I dont currently do so. But might be worth a try if it upsets you enough.

Using saved photo as wallpaper

He just uses whichever launcher the phone came with, and he has no idea where the picture went.
See if long-pressing on a home screen brings up 'wallpaper' as a choice. Assuming it does, and he selects it, it should bring up several choices; here's mine:

From there it's just a matter of finding the picture!

I would start with the most obvious choice, Google's Photos. He should eventually find it, then just select it and 'set as wallpaper' or something similar should appear for him to select.

Reading through your description it sounds like your S7 is booting up into its Download Mode, something that you can do if your restart your phone by simultaneously holding down the Volume Down, the Home, and the Power buttons. But if your phone is starting up all the time by itself that way, that indicates the installed Android operating system has become corrupted or deleted -- the issue being if there's no functioning operating system that's just the your S7 will do. What worries me is your reference to doing a reset while starting your phone up holding down the Volume Up, the Home, and the Power buttons. That takes you into your phone's Recovery Mode, which is normally used only for lower-level maintenance tasks, including doing a Factory Reset. This should affect the operating system though even if you did, but is there a reason as to why you booted up into Recovery Mode and do you recall what you did do?

Anyway, do you keep your phone inside a case? If yes, try restarting your phone while it's not in the case in the event it just became inadvertently shifted out of place causing some of those buttons to be pressed down. It it appears to be stuck in Download Mode, hold down just the Power button (for several seconds) until that forces your phone to power down, and then try to just start up normally and see what happens. Hopefully it will just boot up like it should, but if it boots up into Download Mode again let us know.
