Hi everyone, some of my GB WhatsApp contacts name are not showing, it's just showing the number of some and while for others it's showing part of the name and also the number, while there are some others that the name is showing accurately, please is there anything I can do to solve the issue of my contacts not displaying name???

Hi, I've been wanting a new accurate weather wallpaper but none I've installed seem that accurate. I really like Forest Live wallpaper but it just just seem to be all that accurate. Quite a few ask for API's to get better weather, but I've no idea what they are or where I'd get them from.

Hello folks:

My wife's Samsung A32 has been acting weird lately after she downloaded lots of emoji and gif apps. We think the phone got infected with some sort of virus but we're not sure of it. She hard reset the phone and the weird behavior persists. What's the weird behavior? Sometimes it's impossible to unlock it by touching the screen, it's like TouchPad not responding, some other times, touching options on any screen won't do anything. We don't think the problem is the TouchPad hardware but a software issue (most likely a virus infection we can't get rid of). Any advice or help will be nice.

I just wanted to say, that after nearly 20 years, being a member of, and interested in dozens of different online forums, (reddit was a bit of a game changer in that there are so many different interest groups on on platform), ranging from electronics, to health, music, tech, and automobiles, that this forum, Android Forums, has been hands down, the most helpful, best organized, least toxic, and most community minded of any of the forums I have ever been a member of.
Every post I have ever posted has been responded to, never been trolled once here, and the combined tech knowledge about mobile devices is unequalled, anywhere, with the exception of XDA developers, however that forum is sometimes unresponsive to posts and questions. (Often because I have asked a question that has already been answered, and didn't know it).

I just wanted to say thanks to the founder, admins, and moderators of Androidforums.com for the culture, and the camaraderie always present here in abundance.

Anyone know what the circled icon is in the attached screenshot of the S10 (Android 12) camera screen? It's always there when I open up the camera. I turned off/on various settings and none of them affected it.
It's the stock camera app. I do have that the voice activation turned on and that's the first setting I tried turning off because the icon kinda looks like a soundwave, but like I said, none of the changes I made to the settings did anything.
I do have all my photos backed up to Google so I went into the Google Photos app and "freed up" 3.06GB and then also went into the Camera app info and cleared the cache. Not sure which one of those steps did it, but the icon is gone from camera screen.
Weird.... I'd still like to know what the icon was for though???

I have a OnePlus Nord 10 Android 5G phone.

When I try to use the Google search app, or the Chrome browser, to log into a website,

I am not successful, and I receive the error message below.

But if I try to log into the same sites using the Firefox browser, I am successful.

Are there any adjustments that I need to correct this?

The messaging apps on the Galaxy S22 are a big mystery to me. The default app is titled 'Messages' and is NOT the app with the "..." as the icon, it's the other one, looks like a scribble scribble scribble.
When I try to send pictures to people in the new app, I get an error: "Message not sent: service not activated on network"
If I set the default app to the other Messages app (the one with ...), I briefly see that same error message.

If I forcibly disable the newer messages app and reboot the phone, I am able to send photos, but the problem is, the Icon to get into the SMS/MMS app is only found when you go into Settings->Apps->Messages and select 'Open App' from the settings screen. There appears to be no way to get the icon for that app to the Apps screen or to the home screen, and disabling the new messaging app kills that icon.

I like the new chat/message app because it has chat like features and uses wifi for some functions but the inability to send and receive MMS/pictures makes it useless.
I did try a reset network settings from the reset screen to no avail. I kind of prefer not to do a factory reset on the phone because of data loss (not everything is backed up despite being connected to Samsung Members and Google!)
Googling the error message also gives no useful results.

I'm looking online and comparing the various Galaxy Watch 4 models. I'm curious which model folks believe is best - Watch 4 or Classic? The Classic is definitely heavier and bigger, but I'm worried the non-Classic is too small for me - I'm 6'1", 240lbs (not a small guy). I'll wear it to the gym, that's one reason I'm worried the Classic is too big/heavy. It's a balance between the non-Classic being too small and the Classic being too big/heavy for the gym.

What are your thoughts? Anything beyond size I need to consider with the models? (I'm hoping to make it to an ATT store to handle them.)

I am new to this forum. Also, I am not that tech-savvy and need help from someone who is. I believe that my phone was hacked. Can a person remote in and manipulate my phone without me knowing? I know that it can be done on my PC or laptop remotely by Geek Squad when I give them permission. Geek Squad can remotely control my entire computer just like I can while sitting in front of it.

Hi, ever since updating to android 11, accessing files in the sd card has become really slow. I know that this is a common issue with the update related to the new file system or whatnot, but I have thousands of photos and image files in my sd card and loading them everytime was a pain in the arse no matter what gallery app I use. I have tried moving all the files to a faster sd card but the difference was negligible, it's still slow. I still hasn't found a proper solution to it. So I'm thinking of buying a new phone with newer, better hardware but,.... would that give me some clear performance upgrade or will sd card access still sucks on android 11 & 12?
Btw, I'm using Realme 6 now.

Bought a couple of Belkin 30W GaN, PD wall chargers, and they work fine for fast-charging when I plug the cable that came with the Pixel 6 Pro directly into the phone, but the pads I bought, which claimed to be "Qi-Certified 30W Max Fast Charging Pads" will charge wirelessly, just not rapidly, as seen in the desktop or lock screen charging status.
Can anyone recommend some real 30W Wireless charging pads that will work here?

hello everyone, unfortunately this morning I updated my samsung A71 to android 12 and it no longer works well. After a while, I open any app, or do other operations, eg. settings, etc., the tel freezes, and I have to wait several seconds for it to unlock.I should never have updated it

Selecting default clock/alarm app.

I have been really happy with this app called "Alarm Clock Extreme", which I used on my old phone an LG V30.
My favorite thing that it did was that I could just "hey google, set an alarm for 15 minutes" and it would set the alarm, and make the progress/countdown visible on the lock screen and when I drew the top notifications bar down.
The standard clock app, will allow me to create the alarm, but I can see the progress/countdown, and have to open the app and go into the alarm window to see how much time I have left.

I tried several ways of making Alarm Clock Extreme my default app, but can't seem to get that same performance out of it. There is an option to disable the built in system clock, but I am worried what that might do. I was hoping that with no other other clock apps to handle the request, that it would default to alarm clock extreme.
Any Ideas?

After using the UK "The Times" app for years but had become expensive I chose their European option which was much cheaper, easily cancellable, but required payment only via Google Pay.
Have been using it for a year, but decided to change to a new UK subscription. Google Pay sub was cancelled.

I uninstalled the app (after deleting cache and data) but on downloading the app again from Play Store, I find that the original account data is still there, showing the Google Pay sub information.
And as the app opens it shows "checking Play Store purchases"! And it does seem that this may be the core of the problem, since normally one subscribes direct to the Newspaper.
There is no "logout" option.
Have tried several times, but can't get a pristine app.

How can an uninstalled app contain the original user data when re downloaded? From where is it picking up the information?

I have asked The Times for their help, but in the short term 4 days) they have been unable to come up with a solution.

I have the same issue across 4 different Android devices, phones and tablets.

I am building a social media app, and for the chat fragment I am using a cardView inside of a recylerView for each “post”. Basically like Twitter.

I need someone to point me in the right direction. I want the user to be able to make a post. The post could be text only, but I want the user to have the ability to add photos.

Here’s the question: I want the user to be able to post up to 4 images in a single post. How do I handle the layout file/files when the user only adds one pic, or two, etc… Do I need four different layouts? Is the a library/plugin that deals with this issue? I added a ROUGH draft of the layouts that are possible. Thanks for the help. I hope it wasn’t too confusing. Please lmk if I can clarify anything. Thank you.

Lately, either they don't sync from desktop to phone or vice-versa, or it is delayed for a considerable length of time.

I have several word files I regularly update on the desktop. I launch Onedrive & Google drive, the systray icons show they synced, but hours later when I go to my phone, either one or both have not updated.

I just shared two screenshots a little while ago from my android Photos app to Onedrive. I could then see them in Onedrive, I then launched Onedrive on my desktop, the systray icon said everything was synched, but they were not.

I went back to the phone, went to "one" of the screenshot files, and selected "Make available offline". Finally they both emerged on in my desktop Onedrive folder.

I never had to do that in the past, and I also don't understand how making only one of them available offline allowed them both to sync.

I have bunch of youtube links I shared on my phone with with onedrive, The showed up as text files, and never synced to my desktop. I just now had to select them all, and "download" them to my desktop.

Firefox is my default browser, I have both a Firefox google vicesearch widget and Google assistant voice search widget on my home page. When I do a search with those, I'm taken to what you would expect, multiple results on a google search page.

When I do a google assistant voice search, instead of opening the google search page with the expected multiple results, I am taken to a random website that hopefully relates to the search criteria.

I'd like the assistant to behave like the widgets, or perhaps a suggestion of another assistant that will do this?
